If Buffalo Sabres general manager Tim Murray had to guess, goaltender Ryan Miller would prefer not to wear the only NHL jersey hes ever played in past the March 5 trade deadline. Akiem Hicks Patriots Jersey . Speaking to reporters before the Sabres first game since the Olympic break on Tuesday, Murray said more than two teams, but "less than 10", have inquired about the goaltender and that Miller probably wouldnt mind a fresh start. "I dont think signing here is his first choice at his age, where were at," he said. "Were the 30th-place team." And although Murray says re-signing Miller is realistic, its the clubs current position at the bottom of the standings that appears to be forcing the rookie GMs hand. "Its not the route were looking at right now. The route were looking at is to get value for him," he said. After a 3-2 win over the Carolina Hurricanes in which Miller made 36 saves and had two assists, the goaltender didnt disagree with anything his general manager said. "The things that theyre going to have to do are probably going to come during the trade deadline, and maybe Im one of them," he said. "I dont want to close anything off right now, but I know theyre kind of looking around for opportunity. I think thats probably best for everybody." The 33-year-old was selected by the Sabres in the fifth round (138th overall) of the 1999 NHL Entry Draft. He has been the teams starter for the last nine seasons. Miller is the Sabres all-time leader among goaltenders in games played (540), wins (284) and trails only Dominik Hasek in shutouts (28). His tenure and accomplishments in Buffalo are not lost on Murray when he fields calls from other GMs. "Players that treat you right and have played hard for you over the years, you try to do whats best for them too, as long as it fits into what youre doing," he said. "And by trading Ryan to a contender, a good team that maybe is lacking only his position, I think that weve certainly not done a disservice to him and weve helped the organization in our own right. Our goal, I think from both sides, is to pursue a proper trade." A proper trade, according to Murray in "a perfect world" would give the Sabres young players a few years into their development. Murray says he doesnt necessarily want to start from scratch with draft picks, but that he will if need be. "I dont think teams are going to bend over backwards to make life easier for us, so its going to be the determination to be made on what the best deal is offered and if its draft picks, its draft picks and well turn them into assets and players," he said. Another Sabre that Murray says is attracting a fair bit of attention is captain Steve Ott. Both Miller and Ott are impending unrestricted free agents. Once again, Buffalos dismal record has handcuffed Murray into making a decision on a player he feels could help any team. "The way (Ott) plays the game, the way he conducts himself, thats not the type of player that I want to trade away, thats the type of players I want to bring in, he said. "Its the type of player weve been trying to bring into the teams Ive been with and were not a playoff team so that changes the dynamic, obviously." Murray also confirmed hes had talks with interim head coach Ted Nolan about a contract extension. "Were along that path," Murray said. Nolan took over behind the bench in place of Ron Rolston last November. Chris Jones Jersey . Michael Raffl scored in the first period for Austria, which finished third in its group at 1-2. Austria and Norway both lost to Canada and Finland, who met later in the day to decide the group winner. Duron Harmon Jersey . As Duncan finally starting walking to the bench, with mocking cheers raining down from the stands, Spurs point guard Tony Parker decided it was time for him to take over. Parker capped a 27-point outing with three clutch layups in the final minutes, and the Spurs held on for their fifth straight victory, 101-95 on Monday night.SYDNEY, Australia -- Tiger Woods walked off the golf course to see his name atop the leaderboard Friday in the Australian Open. Even more pleasing to him was the way he got there. With control of his shots and comfortable over the putter, Woods put together his best back-to-back rounds of the year with a 5-under 67 that gave him a one-shot lead going into the weekend at The Lakes. Its the first time he has led a tournament since the third round of the Chevron World Challenge last year, and the first time against a full field since his last win two years ago in the Australian Masters. Woods was tied for the first-round lead at The Barclays last year. "I really played well," Woods said. "Even though I shot 5-under, it felt it could have been 8 or 9 deep." He was at 9-under 135, one shot clear of a familiar name in these parts -- and to Woods. Peter OMalley is a member at The Lakes and birdied his last two holes for a 66. OMalley is memorable to some golf fans in the United States as the No. 64 seed who beat Woods in the opening round of the Match Play Championship at La Costa in 2002. Jason Day, who played alongside Woods, managed to limit the damage from a few wayward shots and had a 68 to finish two behind. Bubba Watson, among eight Americans to came to the Australian Open to get ready for the Presidents Cup next week at Royal Melbourne, birdied his last three holes for a 70 and was three shots behind. "He has more shots in the bag than me right now," Day said. "He hits some shots that made me go, Wow. I feel that I can play a lot of different shots, but some of the shots that guy hits, especially around the greens, are amazing. He is always in control and always composed." Robert Allenby, who has played with Woods many times over the years, saw a game that was starting to look vaguely familiar. "Probably in the last six months, thats the best Ive seen him play," Allenby said. "Ive seen him at his absolute best ... that was a different human being. Hes on his way back, thats for sure. "I think where he is right now is good enough to win. I think youll find if he keeps going the way he is going, hell win over the weekend." Woods has hit plenty of crisp shots, but if there was one that showed an increasing confidence in his swing, it came toward the end of the round on the par-5 eighth. He was in the middle of the fairway, 280 yards from the hole and facing a 24 km/hr wind. His three-wood was pure, a bullet with the slightest fade to skirt a bunker and roll onto the green. "I hit that good," Woods said. "It was a slightly hanging lie and I had to start it at the bunker and just hammer it. It slid about three yards. That was the best shot Ive hit the last couple of days." Woods still didnt take advantage of the aall the par 5s, failing to make birdie on No. Tavon Wilson Patriots Jersey. 11 and No. 17, and having to settle for one when he missed a 10-foot eagle putt on the 14th. And he finally made a bogey on the 30th hole of this tournament with a drive into a dune, and an approach that left him a bad angle to the green. He followed, however, with a 25-foot birdie putt on No. 4 that broke some 6 inches at the end and caused Woods to let out a little emotion, tapping his fist toward the ground. His only other mistake was a stinger 3-iron into the wind on the sixth that turned just enough to catch the sand amid more dunes. Nick Watney faded on the front nine and shot 73, though he remained in the picture at 5-under 139. A large crowd that packed into the knolls and dunes became louder the longer Woods stayed atop the leaderboard, and even some of the tournament officials appeared to get wrapped up in the day. At one point, they had his name spelled simply "Tiger" on a leaderboard. For Woods, it was a strange sight. "It feels good," he said of his name listed first. "It feels good to be there playing properly." Woods repeated that he has been hitting the ball this well in practice at home in south Florida, and based on the other times he has changed swings, he referred to the process of getting confidence in practice and eventually taking it to the golf course. "Thats progress. Thats what happens," he said. "And once it starts coming, the confidence is building." The Americans lost one of their players at the Australian Open when Hunter Mahan withdrew Friday morning because of pain in the back of his right shoulder that wouldnt go away. Rather than risking it, Mahan decided to take a few days of rest. He said he fully expects to be playing next week at Melbourne. The Presidents Cup captains both made the cut. U.S. head Fred Couples shot 74 and was at 3-under, six behind Woods. International team captain Greg Norman also shot 74 and was at 1-over, 10 behind. Woods was among the controversial selections by Couples to the U.S. team, especially because he hasnt won in two years and rarely has put himself in contention. But it was a day like Friday, on the back of the opening round, that made any questions about him look moot. "Its a great pick," Day said. "A few people questioned it. He was not playing that great a couple of months ago, but he has certainly turned it around. I like the way hes playing. I have not played Royal Melbourne for a while, but I think it will be a good setup for him. He has a good short game right now. Overall, his game is looking good for next week." Allenby wound up missing the cut, while defending champion Geoff Ogilvy turned around a sloppy back nine with an eagle on the 17th to at least get to the weekend. wholesale jerseys cheap jerseys cheap nfl jerseys wholesale jerseys cheap soccer jerseys wholesale jerseys wholesale jerseyscheap nfl jerseys china ' ' '
