ARLINGTON, Texas -- When Kevin Kouzmanoff was riding the buses in Double-A two seasons ago, he kept his focus on returning to the majors and providing the kind of production that he is now delivering for the Texas Rangers. wholesale jerseys . "You never know what can happen in baseball," Kouzmanoff said after helping the Rangers beat the Seattle Mariners 8-6 Thursday. "Here I am. Its great to be back." Kouzmanoff hit two doubles and scored twice. Texas lost the opener of the four-game series on Monday night, but won the last three. The 32-year-old Kouzmanoff is hitting .414 since being promoted from Triple-A Round Rock on April 9 after starting third baseman Adrian Beltre strained his left quadriceps. Kouzmanoff has hit in all eight games in which he has played, beginning with a pinch-hitting appearance followed by seven straight starts. Beltre was put on the 15-day disabled list Sunday. Shin-Soo Choo homered for Texas and J.P. Arencibia had a pair of RBI groundouts. Robinson Cano hit his first homer for the Mariners, going back-to-back with Corey Hart. Cano is in a 3-for-18 slump. The Rangers broke a 6-all tie in the fifth inning when Arencibia drove in a run with a grounder and Mitch Moreland scored on a wild pitch by Joe Beimel (0-1). Pedro Figueroa (2-1) was the second of five Texas relievers who held Seattle scoreless. He earned his second victory in less than 24 hours -- he was Wednesday nights winner when the Rangers rallied for two runs in the bottom of the ninth for a 3-2 victory. Kouzmanoff was a major league regular from 2007-11 for three clubs before spending the past two seasons in the minor league systems of Kansas City and Miami. He signed a minor league contract with Texas in December and hit .370 during spring training. Kouzmanoff was the Rangers last cut in spring training and sent to Round Rock when the club decided to complete its opening day roster with more middle-infield help because second baseman Jurickson Profar began the season on the disabled list. "Im not the player that Beltre is. Hes an unbelievable player," Kouzmanoff said. "We all have to do things that are us." Asked the source of his hot streak, he said, "Eating oatmeal every morning for breakfast." Texas Tanner Scheppers, in his first season as a big league starter, made the shortest of his four starts and was victimized by the big inning for the third time. He took the mound with a 4-0 lead and then gave up six runs in the third while recording just one out. "It doesnt feel good," said Scheppers, the Rangers eighth-inning setup man for most of last season. "Luckily, the bullpen picked me up. The offence went out and scored runs. You cant ask for any more than that." Scheppers said he wasnt worried about being sent back to the bullpen. Rangers manager Ron Washington echoed that sentiment. "Its nothing that has crossed my mind," Washington said. "We know its a work in progress." The Rangers made it 6-all by chasing Mariners starter Erasmo Ramirez with two runs in the third. In his last three starts, Ramirez has lasted no more than five innings and allowed 13 earned runs and 18 hits. Hart reached base four times, with a double and two walks in addition to his team-leading fourth homer. He played right field for his first outfield appearance since July 2012. "Down 4-0 at one point and to battle back and take the lead, we definitely have fight in this team," Hart said. NOTES: Rangers LHP Matt Harrison, on the disabled list with back stiffness following two surgeries last year, is scheduled to make a rehab start on Saturday for Double-A Frisco. ... Mariners manager Lloyd McClendon said he hasnt decided who will start Sundays series finale at Miami. jerseys from china . Boston assigned the oft-injured right-hander to their Triple-A affiliate in Pawtucket on Friday. Prior, who signed a minor league contract with the Red Sox on May 2, had been at extended spring training in Florida. Red Sox manager Bobby Valentine called Priors comeback attempt a "great story." The change levels the playing field, giving players

Major League Baseball and Nippon Professional baseball have agreed on a new posting fee to bring potential Japanese free agents to North America. Adam Jones Orioles Jersey . The three-year deal was finalized on Monday and fundamentally changes the way Japanese players are acquired by MLB clubs. Now, if an NPB Club wishes to make one of its players available to Major League Clubs, they will notify the MLB Commissioner of the players availability and the release feethat must be paid to the NPB Club in order to secure release. The NPB Club may not set the release fee higher than $20 million and the fee cannot be changed once set by the NPB Club. The Commissioners Office will then post the player by notifying all MLB clubs of both the availability of the player and the fee sought by the NPB Club. Postings must be made between Nov. 1 and Feb. 1. A 30-day period begins the day after the player is posted, and concluding 30 days later, with any Major League Club willing to pay the release free to negotiate a contract with the posted player. If a team is able to reach an agreement with the player, the fee will then be paid out to his NPB club in installments. Should the player fail to reach an agreement with an MLB club, the release fee is not owed and the player may not be posted again until the following November. Under the current system, teams submit their top bids in secret with the highest bidder getting an exclusive negotiating window to sign the player. The deal comes as MLB teams wait to hear about the potential availability of the latest Japanese phenom pitcher, Masahiro Tanaka. The New York Yankees were believed to be the front-runners for Tanaka, since their deep pockets would allow them to submit a high posting bid, while only having Tanakas salary count towards luxury tax. However, under the new system that advantage would no longer play in the Yankees favour. Since only the posting fee is luxury tax-exempt. The change levels the playing field, giving players like Tanaka the ability to choose between whichever clubs deem his services worthy of a maximum bid. Whether or not Tanaka gets posted still remains to be seen as his club - the Rakuten Golden Eagles - has been going back and forth on whether to actually make him available. Tanaka reportedly wants to play in North America, but the change to the system has made posting him less lucrative to his Japanese club. The highest bid ever submitted by an MLB club for a Japanese free agent came in January of 2012 when the Texas Rangers paid a reported $51.7 million for the right to negotiate with pitcher Yu Darvish. The Rangers and Darvish took almost the full allotted month to reach an agreement, with Darvish settling for a six-year, $60 million contract on the final day of the negotiating window. Customized Orioles Jersey . The former Detroit Red Wings captain was named to the Order of Hockey in Canada on Wednesday along with former womens national team captain France St-Louis and legendary university coach Clare Drake. http://www.oriolesteamshop.com/JJ-Hardy-Orioles-Orioles Jersey/ . “Hes alright,” laughed Toews, “but that Kessel guy is even better.” Whether Toews was sharing his true belief or not is beside the point. The fact that the captain of two different Stanley Cup champions would even think to make that comparison shows that Kessel is being thought of among the games elite, not just by pundits but, more importantly, by his peers.ST. LOUIS -- The St. Louis Cardinals chose not to offer a 2014 contract to reliever John Axford, making the former closer a free agent. Axford was a combined 7-7 with a 4.45 ERA for Milwaukee and St. Louis last season, but he was 1-0 with a 1.74 ERA after the Cardinals acquired him in a late-August trade. He maade six appearances in the post-season and allowed a run in 5 2-3 innings. Manny Machado Orioles Jersey. He struck out nine. The 30-year-old Axford led the Brewers with 46 saves in 2011 but lost the closer role a year later. Teams had until midnight to offer 2014 contracts to unsigned players on their 40-man rosters. they are a budget team that will stay well below the cap

Every night of the Stanley Cup playoffs, TSN hockey analyst and former NHL goaltender Jamie McLennan breaks down each goalies performance. Stevan Ridley Blue Jersey . Jamies number grades given are out of five, with five being the best mark. Dustin Tokarski, Montreal Canadiens (5) – He stole the game for the Habs tonight. He was outstanding early on when the Rangers pressed in the first period with big saves on St.Louis and Hagelin that could have put it out of reach. His positioning was interesting as he used different depths for himself. Not being a big guy, you would think he would be more aggressive, but he was surprisingly patient and deep on Zuccarello in the third, a sign of confidence. He made a massive save on St.Louis in the final minute. Both goals were not his fault as they hit players in front of him. Henrik Lundqvist, New York Rangers (3) – He wasnt tested as much tonight, especially early on, and made big saves on Pacioretty and Desharnais to keep it 1-0. The first goal by Markov was not good, hes there but it goes 5 hole, through the body. The second and game-winning goal hit players going into the net, unavoidable. Montreal found a way to get to him by not trying to make the perfect shot, funneling pucks to the net, and getting some favorable balances. Shane Vereen Jersey .J. Barea during a three-game shooting slump that was getting him booed off his home court with regularity. Jerod Mayo Blue Jersey. Hamilton turned down taking part in the past two derbys, but said Sunday that he would consider being part of the new team derby if asked by American League captain David Ortiz. "Its a really cool concept, the whole team situation. Well see," Hamilton said.In terms of actual money, no member of the Ottawa Senators is being paid more this season than Milan Michalek. The winger is making $6 million in 2013-14 – although his cap hit is only $4.3 million. He is in the final year of a back-loaded deal he signed with the San Jose Sharks prior to the 2008-09 season.  Michalek has only three goals in 18 games so far this season and is sporting a team-worst minus-seven rating. Prorated over the course of a full season, this would translate into just 14 goals and mark the worst offensive output of his NHL career. In the 2011-12 campaign, Michalek led the Sens with a career-high 35 goals and was one of their most consistent players. But this year, Michalek is like many other players on the roster who is struggling to find his game.  "I know I havent been good. I have to be better and everyone is expecting me to score," Michalek told a handful of reporters on Thursday. "Its frustrating right now and hopefully its going to turn around soon." If there is a silver lining to Michaleks woes its that he has been able to stay healthy so far. He missed 25 games with a knee injury last season and clearly wasnt 100 per cent when he returned in time to play in the playoffs. Michalek went overseas in the summer to undergo blood serum therapy for his injured knee and he reiterated on Thursday that he is not suffering from any type of physical ailment that is affecting his production. When the Senators acquired Michalek back in the fall of 2009, he was the centerpiece in a forced deal with the Sharks that saw Dany Heatley head to the west coast. And the Sens have never regretted the trade, considering that Michalek has been the consummate professional and teammate since joining the team. He can play in all situations and has been a consistent performer when he has been able to stay healthy. Since the deal was made, Heatley has averaged 0.34 goals-per-game while Michalek has been right behind with a 0.33 mark. A big reason for Michaleks success has been the chemistry he has formed with Jason Spezza. But this season, Ottawas formerly dynamic duo has failed to generate many opportunities at even-strength. Even Michalek cant explain why he and Spezza cant seem to click this season. "I dont know the difference this year - if I did it would be good. You just have to work hard and hope things willl come around soon," he said. Jamie Collins Youth Jersey.  The 28-year-old is set to become an unrestricted free agent in July and he couldnt have picked a worse time to go into a slump. The Senators have already stated they are a budget team that will stay well below the cap, so its hard to imagine a scenario where Michalek can come back next season making anything close to $4 million. The club also has to deal with several contracts that are set to expire in the next 18 months or so, including: Spezza, Chris Phillips, Bobby Ryan, Clarke MacArthur and Craig Anderson. Where does Michalek fit on that priority list? Its hard to say, but his slow start to the season isnt helping his cause. "Im just trying not to think about it. Well see what happens in the future," Michalek said when asked if the pressure of playing in the final year of his contract was a factor in his slow start. In the past, Bryan Murray has not traded away his veteran players who were set to become unrestricted free agents when his team was in a playoff race. We could all see the writing on the wall that Filip Kuba was not coming back after the 2011-12 season, but the Sens hung onto him for the playoff run and then watched him sign with Florida as a free agent.  The same scenario played out last season with Sergei Gonchar, who stayed with the team past the trade deadline even though he was set to become an unrestricted free agent. Murray eventually found a taker for Gonchar in early June, but he only received a conditional sixth-round pick in return. Even going further back, Murray ended up hanging onto Anton Volchenkov and Wade Redden in seasons where they ended up walking as UFAs. So what will they do with Michalek this season? A lot depends on the teams performance in the next 6-to-8 weeks. If they are out of the playoff race, we could see a similar situation to what played out in 2010-11, when Murray shipped off several veterans around the trade deadline. If Michalek is healthy, surely someone will take a chance on him and his expiring contract.  But if the Sens are in the playoff race, Murray has shown a reluctance to move any of his key pieces – even though they have the ability to walk at the end of the year.  Of course, if the Sens are going to get into the playoffs this season, they will likely need more production from Michalek. Buffalos second-round pick in the 2011 draft

MIAMI - Right-handed reliever Kevin Gregg has agreed to terms on a minor league contract with the Miami Marlins pending a physical. Packers #67 Jersey . Gregg, who turns 36 this month, pitched last year for the Chicago Cubs and had 33 saves with a 3.48 ERA. He has 177 career saves, including 61 in two seasons with the Marlins. With the agreement Monday, the Marlins acquired their second reliever in as many days. On Sunday, they traded the 39th overall pick in this weeks draft to the Pittsburgh Pirates for right-hander Bryan Morris. David Bakhtiari Packers Jersey . -- New Orleans Saints general manager Mickey Loomis says the club has re-signed veteran free-agent wide receiver Robert Meachem to a one-year contract. Packers #30 Jersey . The Ivory Coast forward set Arsenal on its way with the opener in the 11th minute and then provided assists for Santi Cazorla and Olivier Giroud to net in the second half. Hal Robson-Kanu pulled a goal back for Reading, but Mikel Arteta ended the struggling visitors hopes of an unlikely comeback by slotting home a penalty 13 minutes from time.ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. -- The Buffalo Bills have secured at least one half of their starting safety tandem after signing Aaron Williams to a four-year, $26 million contract extension Wednesday. A person with knowledge of the contract said Williams is guaranteed $14.625 million. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the terms were not released by the Bills. The extension locks up Williams through 2018, and comes at a time when the Bills risk losing three-time Pro Bowl safety Jairus Byrd, who is preparing to test free agency next week. "I told them I accept the role of leading this defence to where it used to be," Williams said. "Im just blessed that they gave me that opportunity, and they trusted me to be here long-term to get this team back to where it started." Williams, Buffalos second-round pick in the 2011 draft, was entering the final year of his contract. He was rewarded with the extension after successfully making the switch from cornerback to safety last season. In 14 games last year, Williams had a career-best 82 tackles and tied Byrd for the team lead with four interceptions. Overall, he has five interceptions and two forced fumbles in 34 career games. "Aaron is the type of young, core player we targeted early in the process to retain for years to come," general manager Doug Whaley said in a released statement. "We expect Aaron to continue to grow into a key contributor for the Bills organization.&quuot; The question is whether Williams will continue to develop alongside Byrd. Packers #38 Jersey. This week, the Bills decided against applying the franchise tag for a second consecutive year to retain Byrds rights, opening the door for the fifth-year player to test free agency on March 11. Williams is hoping the Bills can still reach a deal to re-sign Byrd, because the two established a solid on-field rapport last season. "If Jairus does come back, that would be the greatest thing ever, because our chemistry is unbelievable," Williams said. "If he doesnt come back, good luck to him. Were always going to be best friends. ... Well just have to move on and find another piece to try to replace his role." The Bills defence is undergoing another off-season change, with Jim Schwartz taking over as co-ordinator after Mike Pettine left to become the Cleveland Browns head coach. Schwartz has a similar aggressive defensive coaching philosophy, which is expected to ease the transition. "I feel real confident that nothing major is going to change," Williams said. "There might be a few things here and there, but I think team-wise, once we get all the pieces together we will be fine." The Bills also announced free-agent linebacker Jameel McClain had arrived in Buffalo to meet with team. Listed at 6-foot-1 and 245 pounds, McLain spent the past six seasons with the Baltimore Ravens before being released by the team last week. ' ' '

But Mayweather won five of the last seven rounds on two scorecards

ORLANDO, Florida - Opening the tournament in style, the Montreal Impact topped Fluminense FC U23 1-0 on Wednesday night at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex, in its first game of the Walt Disney World Pro Soccer Classic. Chandler Jones Patriots Jersey . Midfielder Sanna Nyassi scored the lone goal. With a first half largely dominated by the Impact, the games first goal came in the 18th minute when defender Hassoun Camara found the ball just inside the box, to the right side of goal. His left-footed shot was pushed away by the goalkeeper, but fell to Sanna Nyassi. The Gambian midfielder settled the ball before firing it off of the keeper and into the net. Lefèvre, Camara and Collen Warner helped goalkeeper Troy Perkins earn the shutout by making a number of solid defensive plays, especially in the first half. The second half saw a number of changes for the blue side, including all current or former field players from the Academy on the field at the same time: Wandrille Lefèvre, Karl W. Ouimette, Maxim Tissot, Zakaria Messoudi, Victor Ndiaye, Jérémy Gagnon-Laparé and Amine Meftouh. In total, 21 players saw action for the Impact in this first game of the tournament. The Impact is now 2-0 in preseason action, following a 2-1 victory on Sunday over Orlando City SC in a friendly. The Impact will play its next Disney Pro Classic matchups with the New York Red Bulls this Saturday, February 22 at 6pm and then versus Sporting Kansas City, next Wednesday, on February 26 at 8pm. The championship game is set for Saturday, March 1. All Impact games throughout the tournament are streamed live at impactmontreal.com. "It was a better game tonight," said Impact head coach Frank Klopas. "We really pushed the play in the first. In the second, we gave some valuable experience to our young players and we managed to keep a clean sheet." "It was a better game tonight, compared to the first one," also said defender Hassoun Camara. "We had to be better physically and technically and we were today. We respected the game plan and now we have to grow from this game. I played with a little bit of pain but I keep working hard. I had some good runs down the flank but it was a collective effort tonight." "We were stronger tonight compared to our first game," said defender Wandrille Lefèvre. "We had goals in mind: win the game and keep a clean sheet. These are important elements that we want to improve compared to last year and we did it tonight." Stephen Gostkowski Womens Jersey . Osasunas Alvaro Cejudo drove the ball onto the crossbar in the fifth minute and his team squandered several long-range strikes before he was denied one-on-one by goalkeeper Jaime Jimenez in the 50th. Shane Vereen Red Jersey . Chelsea led through Gary Cahills 60th-minute deflected shot but Sergio Aguero levelled the scores in the 78th with a penalty and Samir Nasri scored the winner seven minutes later following an exchange of passes with Carlos Tevez, who returned to action after six months away.LAS VEGAS, Nev. - It might have been the toughest $32 million Floyd Mayweather Jr. ever made. Marcos Maidana did everything Saturday night but beat Mayweather, taking him 12 tough rounds before losing a majority decision. Mayweather remained unbeaten, but not by much. Maidana swarmed all over him from the opening bell and gave him perhaps his toughest fight in a 16-year professional career. Cut over his eye and temporarily blinded by a head butt in the fourth round, Mayweather had to rally in the last half of the fight to avoid losing for the first time since he was beaten on a controversial decision in the 1996 Olympics. In the end, though, Mayweather got the win — just as he did in his previous 45 fights in a decision that was met with disbelief by Maidana and booed heavily by the crowd. He retained his welterweight title by winning 117-111 on one scorecard and 116-112 on another. A third judge had it even at 114-114. The Associated Press scored it for Mayweather 115-113. Maidana threw far more punches, but Mayweather was more accurate with his as the two battled into the late rounds with the fight still very much in doubt. Cheered on by a large contingent of Argentine fans, Maidana took the fight to Mayweather, who was cut by the right eye in the fourth round by an accidental head butt. "It was a tough, competitive fight," Mayweather said. "I normally like to go out there and box and move. But he put pressure on me. I wanted to give the fans what they wanted to see so I stood and fought him. Maidana raised his arms in victory when the final bell sounded, and Mayweather watched pensively from his corner as the scorecards were added up before he was declared the winner. "I think I won the fight," Maidana said. "He didnt fight like a man." Punch stats by Compubox showed Mayweather landing 230 of 426 punches to 221 of 858 for Maidana. It was the most punches landed by any fighter against Mayweather in 38 fights where punch stats were compiled. Maidana had a big lead in the early rounds through his constant aggression. Jerod Mayo Authentic Jersey. . But Mayweather won five of the last seven rounds on two scorecards and six of seven on a third to pull out the win by a narrow margin. "I couldnt see for two rounds after the head butt," Mayweather said. "After I could see again it didnt both me. Thats what champions do, they survive and adjust." Maidana had said before the fight he was going to treat Mayweather like any other fighter and go right after him. He did just that, bringing the sellout crowd at the MGM Grand hotel to its feet as he landed some big overhand right hands to the top of Mayweathers head. "He never hurt me with a punch," Maidana said. "He wasnt that tough, I thought I won." Maidana complained about being forced to fight with gloves he didnt want to use when the two camps engaged in a standoff over gloves at the rules meeting a day earlier. "If I would have had my gloves I would have knocked him out," Maidana said. "They took away my advantage." Mayweather, who earned $32 million for the fight, was a 6-1 favourite coming to remain unbeaten. He had picked Maidana as an opponent because Maidana beat Adrien Broner in an upset in December, but he almost made the wrong pick. Mayweather seemed confused early and unable to adapt to the wild punches thrown by Maidana. It wasnt until the middle rounds that he got into more of a rhythm, hitting Maidana with hooks to the body and right punches to the head. Still, the fight was in doubt late as Maidana wouldnt quit coming forward. With the crowd on its feet in the final round he tried to land big punches, but Mayweather was able to escape most of them. Maidana, who was cheered by the crowd as he left the ring, said he wanted a rematch, and both promoter Richard Schaefer and Mayweather said he just might get one after nearly pulling off one of the biggest upsets in recent years. "If the fans want to see it again, lets do it again," Mayweather said. ' ' '

The guy was invited to Peyton Mannings QB

Any top ten has some sort of explicit or implicit criteria. wholesale nfl jerseys . Top ten dunks: flare, power, finesse, levity of the moment. Top ten goals: style, creativity, dare I say panache. With names the parameters of selection would seem subjective, but Ill boldly predict that I get a bunch of head-shakes with the proceeding list. 10) Rasmus Ristolainen – Finland World Junior Hockey Player The suffix “lainen” is as prevalent as the recent onslaught of “D”s and “L”s followed by apostrophes in basketball and football. The alliteration is nice, but giving it that extra boost is the hockey-punnable “risto”, like a wrist shot. And LOOK AT THE HAIR! 9) Barkevious Mingo – Cleveland Browns Another suffix gaining prominence – “ious”, “ius” or “eon” – Jadeveon Clowney (future NFL first-round pick), Latavius Murray (Oakland Raiders running back), Latavious Williams (former NBA second-round pick). The long “e” and “uh” that follows simply flow off the throat. Add the “bark” required of an angry linebacker with a unique surname and youre making the top 10. 8) Tie: Luke Kuechly (pronounced “keek-lee”) - Carolina Panthers, and Kiko Alonso - Buffalo Bills Coupled “k” sounds are kooky, cool and make a nice combination. 7) Starling Marte – Pittsburgh Pirates You got a first name that includes the word “star” and is a mix of “starlet” and “darling”. Nearly trumping the first half of his full name is the last name itself – you cant get any better than a non-French person with an accent aigu sound, even when there isnt actually an accent aigu there. 6) Chael Sonnen – MMA Fighter I suppose the UFC fighters prevalence as a loud mouth helped him garner the sixth spot. But reputation aside, “Chael” is a freaking fighters name. The composite syllables are punchy and fit the profile of a great pugilist. 5) Nerlens Noel – Philadelphia 76ers Theres that alliteration again. Also that French elegance of “Noel” kicks the former Kentucky superstar into our top five. 4) Anderson Silva – MMA Fighter Ive always had a thing for last names as first names: Brady Quinn, Carson Palmer, Carter Ashton, Cooper Manning, Connor McDavid, Grady Little, Harrison Barnes. 3) Kentavious Caldwell-Pope – Detroit Pistons When you add a hyphenated last name youve increased its brilliance potential by 50 per cent. Im pretty sure Kentavious fate to become a pro athlete was determined at the baby-naming, as I wouldnt foresee any Kentavious Caldwell-Popes working at the local Canadian Tire. 2) Johnny “Football” Manziel – Texas A&M A classic nickname for a guy who fits the bill. A superstar quarterback, playing for a team called the “Aggies” in a town called “College Station” – so beautifully old school. Rounding out the names appropriateness is the attitude off the field. The guy was invited to Peyton Mannings QB training camp for kids and (allegedly) got too drunk in New Orleans to fulfill his duties. The masses have jumped on Manziel for being too much of a partier, meanwhile every one of us would have done the same thing at his age. 1) Ha Ha Clinton-Dix – Alabama Football Does this really require an explanation? cheap nfl jerseys . The moment Pelicans guard Jrue Holiday backed off Hill in order to defend against a possible pass or drive, Hill sprung into his shooting motion and drained a 3-pointer with 31.1 seconds left. Future In Question According to John Vogl of The Buffalo News, pending unrestricted free agent Steve Otts future with the Sabres is in question. "I told them I want to be here," Ott said Sunday. It will never get old to walk off

BOSTON -- Carlton Fisk cleared the Green Monster to beat the Cincinnati Reds. Buccaneers #73 Jersey . All Grady Sizemore had to do was hit it. The Red Sox outfielder lined one off the bottom of Fenway Parks left-field Wall to drive in the winning run on Tuesday night and Boston beat Cincinnati 4-3 in 12 innings -- the longest game between the teams since Fisks historic homer in Game 6 of the 1975 World Series. "It will never get old to walk off," said Sizemore, who had three hits in the game. "I was just glad I could come through." An All-Star with the Cleveland Indians, Sizemore missed all of the last two seasons while recovering from back surgery. The Red Sox brought him in as an extra outfielder, knowing the low risk would pay off big if he returned to the form that earned him MVP votes from 2005-08. "Ive got to believe that tonight gives him even further feeling like hes contributing here rather than being someone coming back from an injury," Red Sox manager John Farrell said. "Nights like tonight go a long way and continue to rebuild Grady." Sizemore singled in a run in the third and had another base hit in the eighth, then came up with nobody out in the 12th after David Ortiz and Mike Napoli had already singled off Logan Ondrusek (0-2). He hit the first pitch to left-centre, and the outfielders didnt even bother picking it up as Ortiz scored easily. Craig Breslow (1-0) pitched one inning of scoreless relief for the victory. Boston beat Cincinnati for the sixth time in seven games since the Reds rebounded from the Fisk homer to win Game 7 of the 75 Series to take the title. The teams also met for interleague series in 2005 and 08. Dustin Pedroia had three hits, including two doubles, as the Red Sox won for the third time in four games. Napoli drove in a pair of runs as the Red Sox opened a 3-1 lead only to see Junichi Tazawa give it up in the eighth. "We finally got something going a little late," Reds outfielder Ryan Ludwick said. "Any time you lose a game, you think about missed opportunities." Red Sox starter Felix Doubront allowed one run on five hits, but he walked two batters in the sixth before leaving with one out and a 3-1 lead. Burke Badenhop threw one pitch to Skip Schumaker to get an inning-ending play. It was still 3-1 in the eighth when Joey Votto drew a one-out walk and Brandon Phillips doubled to put runners on second and third. Todd Frazier singled in one run, and Ryan Ludwick tied it 3-all with a sacrifice fly. NOTES: Reds starter Homer Bailey gave up three runs on five hits and five walks, striking out five in six innings. ... The Reds placed RF Jay Bruce on the 15-day disabled list with a torn meniscus in his left knee and selected the contract of OF Roger Bernadina from Triple-A Louisville. Bruce had arthroscopic surgery on Monday and is expected to miss about a month. ... The game marked the 99th anniversary of Babe Ruths first of 714 career homers, on May 6, 1915. The Red Sox LHP also pitched 12 1-3 innings and took the loss in a complete game against the Yankees at the Polo Grounds. ... The Reds announced that their April 28 rainout against the Cubs will be made up as part of a day-night doubleheader on July 8. ... Red Sox DH David Ortiz played in his 2,000th career game. Buccaneers #23 Jersey . Former San Francisco Giants slugger Barry Bonds made his longshot request of the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in San Francisco. A three-judge panel of the 9th Circuit upheld Bonds conviction in September. Buccaneers #54 Jersey . The club had until 5pm et on Sunday to file and has decided to bring the case before a mediator. OReilly made $6.5 million last season in the second year of a back-end-loaded contract. The deal arose out of an offer sheet OReilly signed with the Calgary Flames prior to the lockout-shortened 2012-13 NHL season. The Avalanche decided to match the offer instead of losing OReillys services and as such must now make him a qualifying offer of $6.5 million to retain his rights. OReilly is slated to become a restricted free agentt on July 1. Charles Sims Buccaneers Jersey. The other 29 NHL clubs are still eligible to sign OReilly to an offer-sheet between July 1 and July 5 despite the filing, a change that was made in the collective bargaining agreement signed in January, 2013. The 23-year-old scored 28 goals and added 36 assists in 80 games with the Avalanche in 2013-14. Originally selected by the Avalanche in the second round (33rd overall) of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft, OReilly has scored 73 goals and 118 assists in 345 career games with the club. Italy was eliminated in a 6-4, 6-4 to Spains

RIO DE JANEIRO, Brazil -- Rafael Nadal showed no signs of a tender back Tuesday, defeating fellow Spaniard Daniel Gimeno-Traver 6-3, 7-5 in the first round of the Rio Open. Jeff Allen . It was No. 1-ranked Nadals first match since losing three weeks ago in the Australia Open final against Stanislas Wawrinka, a match the Spaniard was a heavy favourite to win. Nadal tweaked his back warming up for the final in Australia, bringing up questions again about his health to start a season. A year ago he was coming back from a left knee injury, which he overcame to win the French and US Open. "Daniel is a specialist on clay, so for me it was a great match after so much time off after the final in Australia because of the back problems," Nadal said. "I practiced very little. So I was happy to get back, and get back with a victory." Nadal looked fine on the outdoor red clay and seems headed for a possible final Sunday against fellow Spaniard David Ferrer. Ferrer defeated Jeremy Chardy in his first-round match 6-2, 6-3. Nadal broke Gimeno-Traver in the sixth game en route to taking the first set. The two were even in the second set until Nadal broke in the 11th game and then served out to win. Nadal has the best clay-court record in the Open Era, 294-21. "For Rio, for the Brazilian people, for everybody its nice because hes No. 1 in the world," third-seeded Fabio Fognini said of Nadal. "For the tournament, especially because its the first year, I think it will help." Other seeded players advancing on Tuesday included: No. 3 Fognini, No. 4 Tommy Robredo, No. 7 Juan Monaco and 8 Pablo Andujar. Ousted were No. 5 Nicolas Almagro and No. 6 Marcel Granollers. The Miami Heat can clinch a fourth straight NBA Finals appearance Wednesday night with a victory over the Indiana Pacers in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference finals at Bankers Life Fieldhouse. Buccaneers #38 Jersey . Watch the game live on TSN and TSN GO at 8:30pm et/5:30pm pt. The Heat are a single victory away from becoming the fourth team in NBA history to reach the championship round four consecutive seasons. The Boston Celtics made a whopping 10 in a row from 1957-66, then the Los Angeles Lakers turned the trick from 1982-85. The Cs did it once again, battling those same Lakers a few times, from 1984-87. Its been almost 30 years, but history is what this incarnation of South Beachs Big Three had in mind when they united in Miami in the summer of 2010. True to their form, the Heat arent worrying about legacies. They are worrying about Game 5. "Its going to take a better game than we had (Monday). Its that simple," said LeBron James. "You have to get better every game. Their back is against the wall, but we have to go in with that mindset that our back is against the wall, too." Miami inched a win closer to the title round with a 102-90 victory at American Airlines Arena Monday night in Game 4. James scored 14 of his 32 points in the third quarter, while Chris Bosh added 25. Dwyane Wade had 15 points and James also supplied 10 rebounds and five assists for the Heat, who moved to 7-0 at home during the postseason. Pacers guard Lance Stephenson stated that James using trash talk against him in Miamis Game 3 victory was a "sign of weakness." "Im doing something right to get underneath his skin," Stephenson said after Indianas practice on Sunday. His comments mightve fueled James, although the four-time MVP shrugged off Stephensons comments postgame. "I was motivated enough getting back to the finals," said James, who passed Michael Jordan for the most playoff games with at least 25 points, five rebounds and five assists. James relentlessly attacked the rim throughout and Bosh helped the Heat finally get off to a fast start in this set. Miami had trailed by double figures in the first quarter in two of the first three games, but it flipped the script on Monday. Bosh, who had netted just nine points in each of the first three tilts and had been just 2-of-12 from beyond the arc in the series, put in Miamis first eight points. He knocked down a pair of 3-pointers during his personal 8-0 run to begin the game and the Heat never looked back in the wire-to-wire victory. Paul George supplied 23 points and seven rebounds and David West added 20 points and 12 boards for Indiana. Stephenson finished with nine points and didnt record his first field goal until the 5:31 mark of the fourth. George was very displeased with the officiating after the game. The Heat attempted 34 free throws compared to 17 for the Pacers. "I feel like were just as aggressive as they are attacking the basket and making plays at the rim," said George. "Maybe this was just home cooking." That comment, plus many more, earned George a $25,000 fine from the league. Roy Hibbert was held scoreless in 22 minutes in defeat. The Pacers are 0-3 all-time in series trailing 3-1. In the Big Three era, the Heat are 7-0 in series when leading by the same margin. "Listen, 3-1 is a tough challenge. We know that," said Pacers coach Frank Vogel. "If its going to happen, it typically happens when the home team is down 3-1. If we win Game 5, the pressure goes back on them. Then theyve got to win Game 6. Otherwise, Game 7 is in our building. "All our focus is on right now is coming back and getting Game 5 and extending the series." If the Pacers can, Game 6 would be Friday night in Miami. Buccaneers #37 Jersey . - Connor McDavid scored 53 seconds into overtime as the Erie Otters came from behind to defeat the visiting Guelph Storm 4-3 on Saturday in Ontario Hockey League action.Buccaneers #83 Jersey .com) - Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning has been named Sports Illustrateds 2013 Sportsman of the Year.CALGARY -- Bad luck for the Chicago Blackhawks in overtime continued against the Calgary Flames on Tuesday. T.J. Brodie scored at 2:26 of the extra session to lead Flames to a 5-4 win over the slumping Blackhawks, whose overtime record fell to 0-6 this season. "Overtimes been a sore spot," said Chicago coach Joel Quenneville, whos baffled by his teams inability to play well in OT. "I think weve got enough assets in there. In overtime, weve got to find a way to make it happen." Brodie picked up a rebound in front of Chicago goalie Corey Crawford before scoring a wraparound goal to emerge as the hero in front of an announced crowd of 19,289 fans at the Scotiabank Saddledome. "Its always nice winning, especially against a team like that," Brodie said. The third-year defenceman gave credit to Flames forward Lee Stempniak and Sean Monahan for setting up his goal. "There was a battle on the red-line and Stempy won the battle and gave a pass to Mony," Brodie explained. "Mony made a good play cutting to the middle and got a shot off. Crawford sort of slid out of the net from the shot. I just tried to wrap it around back out front and it ended up going in." Mikael Backlund scored twice for the Flames (19-27-7), who won three straight games for the first time this season. "There was a lot of emotions out there, a lot of chances back and forth," Backlund said. "These are fun games to play. Im sure the coaches didnt think that, but I enjoyed the game." Matt Stajan had a goal and an assist for Calgary, Lance Bouma also scored and Stempniak set up three goals. Marian Hossa scored twice for the Blackhawks (32-10-13), who have gone 0-2-2 in their previous four games. Patrick Kane and Ben Smith also scored for Chicago. "Theyre a hard-working team so we expected them to work hard," Kane said. "They always seem to give us a tough game in this building. We had to be ready for it. I thought we did a good job fighting back. It was just a few too many mistakes." Neither of the starting goalies played particularly well and both were replaced in net by their respective head coaches. Reto Berra stopped 20-of-24 shots he faced through two periods before Karri Ramo took over in the Calgary net for the final frame and overtime. Ramo made nine saves to pick up the win. Antti Raanta drew the start inn net for Chicago, but was pulled after he stopped just 11-of-15 shots he faced through 1 1/2 periods of play. Clinton McDonald Buccaneers Jersey. Crawford came on in relief and stopped 13 consecutive shots before giving up Brodies OT goal. The Flames held a pair of one-goal leads in the first period before the Blackhawks responded both times to tie up the game 2-2 after 20 minutes of play. Calgary jumped out to a quick start as captain Mark Giordano rang a shot off the post 37 seconds into the game before Backlund scored his 10th goal of the season at 1:13 of the first. Backlund took a pass Stempniak and shook off a check from Chicago defenceman Niklas Hjalmarsson before backhanding a shot that snuck through Raantas legs. The Blackhawks evened the score at 5:53 when Kane converted a nice backhand pass from Kris Versteeg from behind the Calgary net. The Flames regained their one-goal lead at 11:34 when Boumas weak wrist shot hit Raanta in the shoulder before bouncing up and over the Chicago goalie and into the net. Once again, the Hawks drew even on a goal by Hossa with 3:25 remaining in the opening frame. Patrick Sharp appeared to score the goal, but his stick hit Hossas, which actually directed the puck into the net behind Berra, who made a great pad save to stop the initial shot taken by Jonathan Toews. David Jones made a nice play to set up Stajan for his ninth goal of the season at 3:21 of the second before Backlund converted a feed from Stempniak for a short-handed marker at 10:25 to put the Flames up 4-2. The Hawks pulled back to within one when Smiths long wrist shot bounced off of Berras catching glove and into the net. Hossa then tied the game at 4-4 when he swatted a rebound past Berra at 17:33 of the second while Chicago was killing off a penalty. The Blackhawks outshot the Flames 9-7 in the third period, in which neither Ramo nor Crawford surrendered any goals. Notes: The Flames are in the midst of a five-game homestand, which equals their season high. They also played five straight games at home from Dec. 23 to Jan. 3 when they went 1-4. a The Flames will also host the San Jose Sharks on Thursday and the Minnesota Wild on Saturday. a It was Backlunds first multi-goal game since Oct. 21, 2010 when he scored both times for Calgary during a 4-2 loss to the Red Wings in Detroit. a With an assist on Backlunds second goal, Giordano extended his point-scoring streak to seven games, a career high.
