Although Brown said Bynum showed "glimpses"

CLEVELAND -- The Andrew Bynum experiment appears over for the Cavaliers. Kiko Alonso Royal Blue Jersey . The team suspended the enigmatic centre indefinitely on Saturday for "conduct detrimental to the team" and banned him from all team-related activities. Bynum, who signed a two-year, $24 million contract with the Cavs in July, did not travel with the team to Boston for Saturdays game and its likely that he has played his final game for Cleveland. The Cavs will try to trade Bynum. Bynums suspension isnt a major shock considering he has not performed at a consistent level and has appeared uninterested while on the floor. Earlier this season, the 7-footer, who did not play a single second last season for Philadelphia because of knee injuries, talked openly about retirement and said his medical issues have been a challenge to overcome. "Its a terrible situation internally with our team," All-Star guard Kyrie Irving said before the Cavs faced the Celtics. "Its something we have to get over." Cavs coach Mike Brown has been a huge supporter of Bynum. The two were together in Los Angeles and their relationship was one of the reasons the Cavs risked signing Bynum. Brown was asked if Bynums days with the Cavs were over. "Hes on an indefinite suspension and Im not trying to be funny, but you know what indefinite means," Brown said. "Weve got 14 guys in that locker room who are very focused and determined and ready to take on any challenge thats in front of them. Theyre great guys, theyre focused guys and they know how to play the game the right way and thats what Im focused on, just helping those guys win." There were times this season Bynum showed flashes of being a dominant post player again. But recently he has lacked energy or enthusiasm, and on Monday he missed all 11 field-goal attempts and didnt score in 22 minutes against Detroit. On Thursday night, Bynum struggled to guard Atlantas Al Horford and was taken out in the third quarter. Bynum didnt return despite Horford suffering a torn chest muscle in the Hawks double-overtime win. Bynum impressed the Cavs with his work ethic while getting ready for the season. They werent sure if he was motivated, but Bynum shocked many by being ready to play on opening night and seemed to have revived his career. The Cavs, however, grew concerned about Bynums attitude in recent weeks and were worried about it affecting team chemistry. So, they opted to remove him before things got worse. Cavs guard Jarrett Jack said Bynum wasnt disruptive and that his quietness may have been misinterpreted. "Thats just kind of how people are sometimes," Jack said. "People like to march to the beat of their own drum. Thats not saying youre a bad guy, thats just how you are. I thought we actually had a good relationship with him. He wasnt somebody that was reluctant to speak to people. I thought we had a decent bit of camaraderie and hopefully this will pass and be over and well be back at full strength soon." The Cavs only guaranteed Bynum $6 million on his deal, and they can clear more salary cap space if he is traded or released by Jan. 7. There could be interest in Bynum by a team willing to accept that hes not the same player who routinely recorded double-digit points and rebounds for the Los Angeles Lakers. The 26-year-old Bynum spent seven seasons with the Lakers, who selected him with the 10th overall pick in the 2005 draft. Bynum is averaging 8.6 points and 5.3 rebounds in 24 games -- 19 starts this season. Although Brown said Bynum showed "glimpses" of being a force near the basket again, the Cavs had to place the welfare of the team ahead of getting the former All-Star turned around. "Im worried about the guys in the locker room," he said. "Its as simple as that. In our business there are a lot of ups and a lot of downs throughout the season. I think you all understand that. So what you do as a head coach is you keep moving forward. Any time you look back on anything or dwell on anything is wasted energy from the guys in the locker room, which is obviously very important." http://www.authenticbillsshop.com/Preston-Brown-Bills-Jersey . Thank you all for the support." The 27-year-old is earning $575,000 this season in the second and final year of his current deal, and had been eligible to become an unrestricted free agent this summer. "We take a great amount of pridde in having watched Brandon come up through our system and become a big part of our lineup on a daily basis", said Blackhawks general manager Stan Bowman in a statement. Kiko Alonso Bills Jersey. BARCELONA, Spain -- Lionel Messis public relations firm says a Spanish state prosecutor has agreed to drop the Argentinian footballer from a tax fraud case involving Messi and his father. http://www.buccaneersstore.us.com/98-nike-elite-clinton-mcdonald-womens-jersey-nfl-tampa-bay-buccaneers-home-red.html . Messis father, Jorge Horacio Messi, is apparently still under investigation for an alleged 4 million euros ($5.3 million) in unpaid taxes from Messis image rights from 2007-09. Messis public relations firm confirmed Spanish media reports that the state prosecutor has asked for Messi to be dropped from the investigation that began in June 2013. Hi Kerry, I am sure you will get a ton of emails on this one. Last night, the Kings went up 2-1 on the Sharks around eight minutes remaining.LONDON -- Fulham fired manager Rene Meulensteen and appointed Felix Magath on Friday, saying "action was required" in its bid to avoid relegation from the Premier League. Magath, who has won three Bundesliga titles as a coach, signed an 18-month contract, the London club said in a statement. The German has a reputation for brutal training and fitness methods. His nicknames include "Torturer" and "Saddam." Fulhams statement failed to mention Meulensteen at all, but he later said he had been relieved of his duties after less than three months in the job. "They have hit the panic button on emotion and fear -- but hey ho, thats football," Meulensteen told the BBC. The firing came as a shock to many because the Dutchman appeared to be turning things around, getting a result against Manchester United and putting in a good effort against Liverpool despite losing in the last minute. But it wasnt enough for Fulham owner and chairman Shahid Khan. "Our club has shown promise in recent matches, but the fact is we have not won a league match since Jan. 1," Khan said. "Given our form, we can no longer merely hope that our fortunes will finally turn. And with 12 matches remaining and at least four points separating us from safety, we certainly can no longer post empty results. Action was required." The club is bottom of the table with 20 points from 26 matches. Magath has vast Bundesliga coaching experience, guiding Bayern Munich to back-to-back titles in 2005 and 2006, and lifting the league trophy again with Wolfsburg in 2009. He has also coached other German teams, including Hamburg and Schalke. But he has never managed in the Premier League. The 60-year-old Magath recently ruled out becoming coach again at Hamburg, which is in its own relegation battle annd which he led to European glory as a player.Buccaneers Brandon Myers Womens Jersey. He hasnt coached since leaving Wolfsburg in October 2012. "Here we go again. Im coming back into football," Magath said on his Facebook account. "I am manager of Fulham with immediate effect. Its a fantastic working environment for any coach and footballer." Khan welcomed the Germans experience, saying he had faith Magath could lift Fulham out of the relegation zone. "Im especially impressed with the reputation Felix has for coming into clubs at difficult times, often late in the season, and lifting them to their potential and beyond," Khan said. "Felix knows that is precisely the task awaiting him at Fulham, and he made it abundantly clear that he wants and is ready for the opportunity." Fulham said it would make an announcement soon about the clubs backroom staff. The teams next match is Saturday at West Bromwich Albion, which sits four points above the Cottagers in 17th place. Meulensteen, who previously worked under Alex Ferguson at Manchester United, was hired as Fulham manager after Martin Jol was sacked on Dec. 1. "I knew the owners were freaking out a little bit that there was the possibility of the club going down," Meulensteen told the BBC. "The way forward that we have discussed with the club was about longevity and in this case it is clearly an act of fear." Fulham held United to a 2-2 draw at Old Trafford on Sunday, but the team was beaten by a late penalty in a 3-2 loss to Liverpool on Wednesday at Craven Cottage. "I have not had a lot of time and people who came to the Manchester United and Liverpool games could see what I was trying to put in place," Meulensteen said. "I couldnt care less what they put in the statement, to be honest." ' ' '

Palmer started with a third-down completion

SEATTLE - Carson Palmer felt confident in where he needed to go with the throw. http://www.authenticchargersshop.com/Game-Chad-Rinehart-San-Diego-Chargers-Jersey-Womens-Nike-Nfl-78-Navy-Blue-Home-58 . He also knew he was throwing to a wide receiver who hadnt made a reception in the previous 57 minutes. A perfectly placed throw by Palmer and a juggling catch by Michael Floyd kept the Arizona Cardinals in the playoff hunt for another week with a surprising 17-10 win over the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday. Palmer overcame four interceptions to find Floyd on a 31-yard touchdown with 2:13 left, and Arizona won for the seventh time in eight games and snapped the Seahawks 14-game home win streak. "Its tough not to get the ball thrown your way until the last play of the game essentially," Palmer said. The Cardinals were nasty on defence, frustrating Russell Wilson into the first home loss of his professional career and gave Palmer a chance to come through late. Palmer did and now Week 17 has meaning for Arizona. "An ugly win is a win regardless of how it comes out," Palmer said. "There was a handful of times where the ball really bounced their way today and we were resilient, kept fighting, kept believing and came out and got a win." Palmer was mistake prone early, throwing three of his four interceptions in the first half. He was twice intercepted in the end zone, including Richard Shermans second pick of the game early in the fourth quarter. His winning drive made up for the earlier errors. Palmer led Arizona 75 yards in 10 plays. Floyd had been targeted four times previous without a reception, but beat Byron Maxwell down the sideline and Palmers throw was on the mark. The 58-0 beating the Seahawks put on Arizona last season in Seattle is history. The memory now is Arizona handing Seattle its first home loss since Dec. 24, 2011, against San Francisco. "Any time you come on the road and the team beats you 58-0 and you have to come back to their place, it lingers to the back of your head," Arizona defensive tackle Darnell Dockett said. "If you got any pride in any game of football, when a team beats you by 58, you know you think about it and its stuck on you." Palmer finished 13 of 25 for 178 yards. Floyds TD reception was his only catch and Larry Fitzgerald was held to three catches for 18 yards. Arizona didnt need to be explosive offensively because of its defence. Wilson was 11 of 27 for 108 yards, taking his first home loss since he was at North Carolina State. Seattle went three-and-out seven times. They had only 22:36 of possession. Wilson rarely had time to throw and when he did, he missed open receivers. His final pass was underthrown, deflecting off Doug Baldwin and into the arms of Karlos Dansby with 1:56 left. The final pass was another moment of debate for the Seahawks, who earlier thought they had recovered a fumble only to have replay side with Arizona. The pass appeared to hit the ground before deflecting off Baldwin and to Dansby. It was ruled an interception on the field and referee Scott Green told a pool reporter there was not indisputable evidence to overturn that call. Baldwin was emphatic the ball hit the turf. "I would have loved to get that call," Baldwin said. "I believe the ball hit the ground. But thats not why we didnt win the game." Until the winning scoring drive, Palmers day was defined by poor decisions and unlucky bounces. He was intercepted in the end zone by Kam Chancellor on Arizonas opening drive when his pass deflected off Rob Hausler. He was picked off by Malcolm Smith in Seattle territory in the second quarter on a tipped pass, and twice threw interceptions to Sherman, the second a poor decision. But Palmer was fantastic on Arizonas decisive drive after Seattle took a 10-9 lead on Wilsons 11-yard TD pass to Zach Miller. Palmer started with a third-down completion as he was about to get sandwiched by Clinton McDonald, flipping a pass to Jake Ballard for 17 yards. The drive was kept going when Smith was flagged for defensive holding on a third-down incompletion. On third-and-6, Palmer dropped a perfect throw beyond Maxwell and into Floyds hands. He juggled it at first, but controlled the ball as he hit the turf. Rashard Mendenhall scored easily on the 2-point conversion with 2:13 left. "Whether we make the playoffs or not, we beat one of the best," Arizona coach Bruce Arians said. Notes: Arizona won in Seattle for the first time since 2009. ... According to STATS, Inc., it was the third regular season game Palmer threw four INTs and first that he won. ... 5.610 seconds on the 4.361-kilomtre Circuit Gilles-V

MONTREAL - Lewis Hamilton was fastest but Felipe Massas Williams managed to post the second quickest time in Saturday mornings final practice session ahead of qualifying for the Canadian Grand Prix. http://www.authenticchargersshop.com/Game-Chad-Rinehart-San-Diego-Chargers-Jersey-Womens-Nike-Nfl-78-Navy-Blue-Home-58 . Hamilton posted the best lap of one minute 15.610 seconds on the 4.361-kilomtre Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve but his Mercedes AMG teammate Nico Rosberg was caught for second place when Massa came in at 1:16.086 with all the drivers running on supersoft tires late in the one-hour session. Rosberg was third at 1:16.120 while Fernando Alonsos Ferrari was at 1:16.488 and Daniel Ricciardos Red Bull was fifth at 1:16.504. The real test will come later Saturday in qualifying. The Mercedes team has claimed all six pole positions and won all six races in Formula One this season. Massa has started no better than seventh on the grid and his best race finish was sixth. Hamilton hit the curb hard on the final chicane before the home stretch and still bounced back with his quickest time. But the Briton returned to the garage for unspecified work on the car and, even when he returned to the track, he told his crew they needed to "sort out what was wrong." The session stopped for four minutes early on after Esteban Gutierrezs Sauber spun out and needed to be lifted off the track. The race is on Sunday. Eric Weddle Grey Jersey . had two points and two rebounds in 14 minutes

CALGARY -- Weeks of frustration on home ice finally came to a merciful end Wednesday night for the Calgary Flames. http://www.authenticdolphinsshop.com/Elite-Dan-Marino-Miami-Dolphins-Jersey-Mens-Nike-Nfl-13-Fadeaway-Aqua-Green-Orange-18 . Sean Monahan continued his impressive rookie season, scoring his team-leading 14th goal as Calgary snapped its record seven-game losing streak at the Scotiabank Saddledome with a 3-2 victory over the Phoenix Coyotes. "We have great fans so we want to play hard for them and win games for them," said Monahan. "Together as a group, we know we can be better than we were and thats what were working towards." Monahan opened the scoring at 11:44 of the first period. It was the first time in nine home games Calgary had struck first. In fact, the Flames hadnt held the lead in a home game since Dec. 12, the day general manager Jay Feaster was fired. "It was nice to get one early and we started to build off that," said Monahan, 19, who moved ahead of Mike Cammalleri and Jiri Hudler for the team lead in goals. "It was a big moment in the game for us and that helped us carry momentum throughout the game." The goal was set up by TJ Galiardis hustle. After winning a race to the puck deep in the Coyotes zone, Galiardi promptly zipped the puck in front where Monahan tapped it in behind goaltender Mike Smith, firing up the sell-out crowd of 19,289. "A pretty incredible play. He showed his speed to get to the puck and win that race. It was an unbelievable pass to get it over and lucky enough, I finished it," said Monahan, who is third in rookie goals behind Colorados Nathan MacKinnon (17) and San Joses Tomas Hertl (15). Calgary never relinquished that lead thanks partly to Karri Ramo, who finished the night with 30 saves to improve to 9-10-4. The 27-year-old Finn was especially sharp in the opening 20 minutes when Phoenix outshot the Flames 11-6 but trailed 1-0. He was counted on again in the third and in the final minute in particular when the Coyotes pulled Smith for an extra attacker and poured on the pressure. "Weve faced some tough times. But the last few home games, weve been playing really good too, especially against Pittsburgh we played really good and we havent got the reward," Ramo said. "We deserved to win today." Lance Bouma and Matt Stajan also scored for Calgary (17-27-7), which scored more than two goals for just the second time since Christmas. The Flames had been outscored 22-4 during its seven-game home losing streak. "We can take a lot defensively from this game, especially with their D that are so active," Stajan said. "We have four more games here at home and we want to make sure we keep at it." Kicking off a five-game homestand, Calgary will try to make it two wins in a row Friday night against Nashville. Antoine Vermette and Shane Doan scored for Phoenix (23-18-9), which has dropped eight of its last 11. The Coyotes remain four points behind the Minnesota Wild for the second wild card spot in the Western Conference. "Its challenging but the guys that have been around long enough in this league know that youre gong to hit those stretches in a season. Its how you manage to get out of it," says Vermette. Winless in its last five games away from home, Phoenixs three-game road trip to Western Canada continues Friday night in Edmonton. "Sometimes its tempting to get frustrated and fall into that trap. But if you do the right thing over a long period of time, eventually its going to turn your way," Vermette said. The Flames surged in front 2-0 at 8:48 of the second period on a perfectly executed fast break. Curling out from behind his own net, TJ Brodie threaded a long pass to Bouma at the Phoenix blue-line. In behind the Coyotes defence, Bouma darted in and snapped a perfect shot into the top corner. Vermette cut the lead to 2-1 on a short-handed goal less than five minutes later but Stajan restored the two-goal cushion before the period ended . "Weve been down lately in a lot of games and weve got to be better," said Doan, who got Phoenix back within one at 6:50 of the third. "If you look at our record, weve been average if that and weve got a lot better team than an average team." Smith, who had 23 saves, falls to 17-15-8. Notes: Flames LW Mike Cammalleri (concussion) missed his sixth game. Also not dressed for Calgary was LW Paul Byron (foot)... Missing for Phoenix was C Martin Hanzal (lower body), who missed his second game and D David Schlemko (upper body). Both are day-to-day... Calgarys only two regulation wins in the last 21 home games have come against the Coyotes. They also beat Phoenix 4-1 on Dec. 4... After 48 games without one, the Coyotes have short-handed goals in two consecutive games... With Henrik Sedins streak ending, Vermette (361) and D Keith Yandle (353) now have the third and fourth longest active iron-man streaks in the NHL. Dan Marino Womens Jersey .C. -- The Montreal Canadiens needed a little time to get up to speed in their final game before the Olympic break. Dan Marino Camo Jersey. JOHNS, N.SAN ANTONIO -- Even though it was an ugly victory, the banged-up San Antonio Spurs were just happy to end a three-game losing streak given their troubling rash of recent injuries. Tim Duncan had 23 points and 17 rebounds, Tony Parker added 18 points and 10 assists, and San Antonio rallied past the skidding Sacramento Kings 95-93 on Saturday night. The win came in San Antonios final home game before departing for its annual "Rodeo Road Trip" that lasts nearly a month. "Its huge to start the road trip like that," Parker said. "We needed a win. Obviously we were in a little slump with those three losses. We wanted to get back on the right track." Patty Mills scored 15 points and Boris Diaw added 14 for San Antonio, which wont play at home again until Feb. 26 against Detroit. Despite playing Friday night against the Dallas Mavericks, Sacramento almost spoiled the going-away party for the Spurs. Isaiah Thomas had 26 points, Rudy Gay scored 23 and Derrick Williams added 14 for the Kings, who have lost seven straight. "Were playing the San Antonio Spurs; theyre going to make their runs," Gay said. "Theyre going to make tough plays. They do that time and time again. Its not were surprised that they did that. But we still had a chance to win and I still wish I had the shot back." After scoring 22 points primarily against Marco Belinelli, Gay was limited to one in the fourth with the 6-foot-8 Diaw guarding him. Gay missed a potential game-winning, 15-foot jumper over Diaw with 0.5 seconds remaining. "The rim. The rim," Gay said when asked what he saw on the final shot. "I mean, honestly, I wish I had that one back; I dont think I miss that too many other times." After being outplayed by Gay and Thomas for much of the game, the veteran Spurs took over down the stretch to end their longest losing streak of the season. Parker and Duncan scored San Antonios final eight points, but they also gave Sacramento hope by going 1 for 3 on free throws in the final 12 seconds. Duncan missed both his attempts with the Spurs clinging to a 94-93 lead. "Very, very, very (frustrating)," Duncan said. "Not many times I get that situation. Just disappointed I couldnt step up and knock them out." The Spurs were sluggish on offence with newly signed Shannon& Brown starting and Tiago Splitter returning from injury, giving them their third different starting lineup in three games. Mike Pouncey Dolphins Jersey. Brown, signed to a 10-day contract, had two points and two rebounds in 14 minutes. "We need minutes," Spurs coach Gregg Popovich said. "We have to use those minutes so that guys that know the system can be out there at the end of the game. Otherwise, theyre going to be too tired at the end. He gave us good minutes so that we could get everybody else in." San Antonio shot 6 for 20 in the third quarter while falling behind by as many as 10 points. Gay and Thomas matched that production themselves, going a combined 6 for 13 in the third. Williams first 3-pointer gave Sacramento a 76-66 lead with 2 minutes left in the third. Matt Bonner hit a 3 for the Spurs and a jumper that tied the game at 85 with 6 minutes remaining. Then he drove the lane for a runner off the glass after Thomas went flying past him at the 3-point line. That gave San Antonio an 87-85 lead, its first since early in the third quarter. "(Bonner) was great," Duncan said. "He stepped up and scored a bunch of points in a row for us. Made some plays for us. Its going to be big for guys to step up as we have people out." The Spurs are still without Manu Ginobili, Kawhi Leonard and Danny Green, but Splitters return lifted their spirits. Splitter scored only two points but grabbed four rebounds and helped solidify the teams interior defence. "It was great to be back on the court with the guys," Splitter said. "I wasnt that aggressive on offence, but I just tried to help the guys on defence with the coverage and helps. Most importantly, we won, so Im happy." The Kings were missing leading scorer DeMarcus Cousins, who sat out his sixth straight game due to a sprained left ankle. Gay and Thomas made up for his loss offensively, accounting for half of the teams 53 first-half points. NOTES: Splitter got his loudest ovation of the season when he was announced in the starting lineup after missing 12 games with a sprained right shoulder. He came off the bench in the second half. ... Cousins suited up but did not play. He is day to day. ... Ginobili (strained left hamstring), Leonard (broken hand) and Green (broken left index finger) all sat behind the Spurs bench. ' ' '

He only cares about PGA Tour victory No. 4. Reed, who turned off some of his peers when he won at Doral and said he was among the top five players in the world, held it together Saturday at steamy Congressional for an even-par 71 to build a two-shot lead in the Quicken Loans National. As if Congressional wasnt difficult, the rest of the field now has to chase a guy who has won all three previous PGA Tour events when he had at least a share of the lead going into the final round. On a day when making pars often meant moving forward, Reed overcame three bogeys in a seven-hole stretch by playing the last five holes at 1 under for a two-shot margin over Seung-yul Noh, Freddie Jacobson and Marc Leishman. "You cant get ahead of yourself," Reed said. "If you think about having the lead or if you think about what youre going to do coming down 18, youre going to lose focus on the rest of the holes." Reed was at 6-under 207. The final round will have a player in the last group with a red shirt, only it wont be tournament host Tiger Woods, who missed the cut. Reed has been wearing a red shirt and black pants on Sunday to pattern himself after Woods. He also cited Woods when asked which player was his idol in being confident. Reed took that to a new level when he won at Doral and said he felt he was among the top five in the world. He currently is No. 29. "You cant play this game with lack of confidence," Reed said. "So just one of those things that, you know, were all trying to strive for the same thing, and some guys get there and thats all were trying to do." Dating to his first PGA Tour win at the Wyndham Championship last August, the only top 10s Reed has had have been victories. He attributes his sporadic play to his wife having their first child last month. Now, Reed says his life is becoming settled and his game is rounding into shape. Noh finished off his 5-under 66 -- the best score of the third round -- about the time the leaders went off. He was at 4-under 209, which looked better by the hour. Jacobson made four birdies in his opening eight holes to reach 8 under, only to take double bogey on the 11th hole and a sloppy bogey on the par-5 16th hole. He wound up with a 71. Leishman was still only one shot behind until he failed to get up-and-down for par on the 17th and fell to a 73. Kiko Alonso Kids Jersey. "At the start of the day, we probably knew that anything under par was going to be a really good score," Leishman said. "I actually said to my caddie, It feels a bit like a U.S. Open because there were a few pins that you really didnt have a chance to get at. But I think thats good. Its a tough golf course. Its long. If youre not in the fairway, you have no chance." Reed was not in the fairway on two holes where he made birdie, and he managed to pull it off. In deep rough to the right of the fourth fairway, he was 169 yards away and decided to smash a 9-iron to clear the bunker instead of trying a soft 8-iron. It worked out perfectly. The ball bounded past the hole and up a slope, and slowly rolled back to within inches of the cup. "I thought there was about a 3 per cent chance I could cover that bunker, and I ended up being perfect," Reed said. "It was nice whenever I saw it roll up the hill and I saw it come back down because I thought, All right, we have about 5, 7 feet for birdie. Didnt know it was a couple inches, which was nice." Oliver Goss of Australia, the U.S. Amateur runner-up last year making his second pro start, was part of a four-way tie for the lead going into the third round. He was still in the mix until a three-putt from 10 feet for double bogey on No. 11. He had a 76, though he was still only five shots behind. Justin Rose was within two shots of the lead after a hot start, only to make bogey on the par-5 ninth and a double bogey on the 11th hole. He battled back with a pair of late birdies, only to drop another shot on the 18th for a 71. Even so, he was only three shots behind. This could be a perfect fit for a U.S. Open champion. None of the last 26 players who teed off broke 70. Rose took note of the rapidly changing colour of the greens, and his only fear was officials watering the greens overnight, which would make it easier for the early starters. "Id be a fan of them letting them go a little bit and making this a tough tournament and sort of having another U.S. Open," Rose said. "That would be my wish right now. But obviously, the course is firm. Wedges were releasing 10 yards by the end of the day. Its definitely a test. It was fun. I enjoy that type of golf." ' ' '

I think what helps him is the play

PITTSBURGH -- New York Rangers coach John Tortorella watched his team slog through the opening minutes of Friday nights game against Pittsburgh and decided hed seen enough. cheap nfl jerseys . Worried the hangover from Mondays draining win over Philadelphia in the leagues annual outdoor Winter Classic had finally arrived, Tortorella burned his only timeout less than six minutes into the game. And just like about every other move the newly minted all-star coach has made this season, it worked. The streaking Rangers collected themselves after the timeout, riding Henrik Lundqvists 37 saves and taking advantage of sloppy play by the reeling Penguins to roll to a 3-1 victory. "I just wanted to let them know that were just not mailing this in, because thats the look we had," Tortorella said. "You see teams so much in our league say, OK lets pack it in tonight, well get going the next game. I dont want this team to do that and I think we found a way to at least gain some energy, found a way to score some goals." Its what the Rangers do these days better than anyone in the league. Brandon Dubinsky had a short-handed goal and assisted on Brad Richards 15th tally of the season while Derek Stepan took advantage of a gaffe by Penguins goalie Marc-Andre Fleury to notch his ninth goal as New York won its fourth consecutive game and ninth in its past 10. The Rangers improved their position atop the Eastern Conference thanks in large part to Lundqvist, who has won six straight starts. He held the Penguins in check with a series of flashy glove saves and dug in when Pittsburgh turned the pressure up late. "A lot of that game is the way we want to play, the way we need to play," Penguins coach Dan Bylsma said. "It comes down to a couple plays, a couple mistakes by our team." None bigger than Fleurys ill-fated decision to wander far from his net early in the third period. Trailing by one, Fleury raced outside the left faceoff dot to play a New York clearing attempt. Bad idea. Fleury whiffed at a pass, giving the puck to New Yorks Marian Gaborik, whose shot at the wide-open net clanged off the post. Stepan had little trouble with the rebound to give the Rangers a two-goal cushion. The victory capped an eventful week for New York, which has surged to the top of the Eastern Conference standings over the past month despite the presence of camera crews that documented the buildup to the annual Winter Classic in Philadelphia on Monday. The bright lights left after the Rangers rallied for a 3-2 victory at Citizens Bank Park, but the Rangers have kept on rolling. New York rallied for a 3-2 overtime win against Southeast Division-leading Florida on Thursday then improved to 5-0-1 in the second game of back-to-backs by relying on Lundqvist and making Pittsburgh pay for its miscues. "I dont think we controlled the game after that by any stretch, but we got ourselves involved and (gave) ourselves a chance to win," New York centre Mike Rupp said. The Penguins have dropped three straight games in regulation for the first time this season and now trail New York by eight points in the Atlantic Division as the season nears its halfway point. "We did a lot of good things; we just didnt capitalize on them," Pittsburgh forward Chris Kunitz said. "But they also capitalized on their chances ... like on 2-on-1s, plays that were kind of easy goals for them." Pittsburgh, second in the league in shots per game, came out firing, dominating most of the first period and taking a 1-0 lead on Ben Lovejoys first goal since last March. Tortorella called timeout and told his players to stick with it. New York, which didnt get into town until well after midnight following its overtime triumph over Florida, finally woke up just before the end of the period when Dubinskys shot from the corner bounced right off Fleurys pads and onto Richards stick. Richards pounced on it for one of his easiest goals of the season. Dubinsky tapped in a short-handed goal at the end of a 3-on-1 break early in the second period and Lundqvist took over from there. Calmly turning away one of the leagues more dynamic offences, he improved on his 1.92 goals-against average by never wavering in the face of a sometimes relentless Penguins attack. Pittsburgh appeared to get within 3-2 midway through the third period, but referees waved off James Neals goal because of incidental contact between Lundqvist and Kunitz. Bylsma contended Kunitz was pushed into Lundqvist by a New York defenceman, though the referees ruled otherwise. "I think (Kunitz) was forced there by the stick between his legs," Bylsma said. New York improved to 5-0-1 in the second game of back-to-backs this season and let Tortorella celebrate on the day he earned a coaching spot in next months all-star game. It was a nice way to end a tough few days for Tortorella, who was fined US$30,000 for derogatory comments about the officiating in the Winter Classic. He praised his team for the all-star gig, particularly his red-hot goaltender, who has stayed sharp thanks to a slightly lighter workload. Tortorella has given backup Martin Biron a handful of starts in the past two weeks to keep Lundqvist from wearing down. "I think what helps him is the play of Marty Biron where (Henrik) can get some good practice time and be as focused and sharp as he was tonight," Tortorella said. "He was outstanding." Bernier opted for two rounds of treatment on the ailment

Columbus Blue Jackets forward Blake Comeau has been suspended two games by the National Hockey League for boarding Detroit Red Wings defenceman Brendan Smith during their game at Nationwide Arena on Tuesday. Packers Aaron Rodgers Womens Jersey . In the first period of the Blue Jackets 4-1 victory over the Red Wings, Comeau drove Smith into the boards from behind. Comeau received a minor penalty for boarding and a minor for diving on the play, Smith was assessed a minor penalty for cross-checking. Smith was not injured on the play. http://www.packersstore.us.com/Black-53-Nick-Perry-Womens-Jersey/ . -- The pain of another playoff collapse was still fresh less than two days later as the San Jose Sharks packed up for another early summer. Packers Nick Perry Limited Jersey .J. -- Another standout game by James Reimer, a couple of good bounces of the puck, and great penalty killing has the Toronto Maple Leafs inching closer to their first playoff berth in nine years.ARLINGTON, VA – Jonathan Bernier remained off the ice Saturday afternoon as his teammates practiced at the Kettler IcePlex just outside of the D.C. area. His immediate status for the surging Leafs isnt quite clear at this point, though his situation is not believed to be serious. The 25-year-old left his long-awaited return to Los Angeles after just 20 minutes Thursday evening – his team rallying for a 3-2 win – unable to continue because of a nagging lower-body injury. Kept off the ice on Saturday – following a travel day on Friday – Bernier opted for two rounds of treatment on the ailment and may require an MRI to make certain that the injury is not serious. "Berniers still feeling the effects of the injury the other night, said head coach Randy Carlyle of the undisclosed issue following practice. "We dont think its that severe, but youd always like to make sure that you are making the right decision there." Carlyle said it had yet to be determined whether Bernier would indeed go for the MRI and whether he would be able to acquire the image in the Washington area or would require a trip back to Toronto. He wont play against the Capitals, though, in a Sunday matinee at the Verizon Center. That challenge will instead go to James Reimer, who was brilliant with 31 saves in Berniers place against the Kings. Superb in his first season with the Leafs, Bernier had been bothered by the injury before his return start in L. Packers Richard Rodgers Blue Jersey. .A. – he was "stiff" according to Carlyle – but felt well enough to give it a go opposite his former team. Sliding across his crease for one particular save in a first frame that saw the Kings jump out to a 2-0 lead – perhaps the extended right pad stop on Anze Kopitar – Bernier "didnt feel good" and opted to come out. He was replaced by Reimer, who guided the Leafs to their 15th win in the past 22 games. "We felt comfortable putting Reims in and, obviously, the way he played, he shut them out the rest of the way, you cant complain about that, thats for sure," said Carlyle. While hoping that the injury isnt serious, the Leafs arent certain when Bernier will return. Capturing wins in Anaheim and L.A., they have three games remaining on a season-long five-game road trip. Certainly out against Washington on Sunday, Carlyle wouldnt rule out a return for Bernier in Detroit, though, that would seem unlikely at this point given his inability to take the ice Saturday. The team recalled Drew MacIntyre from the Marlies to be the backup against Washington. Bernier was unavailable for comment. ' ' '

Knight scored 30 points and Ramon Sessions added 22 to lead the Bucks to a 108-105 victory over the Lakers on Thursday to break an eight-game losing streak. The Bucks swept the season series for the first time since 2006-07, as Milwaukee beat Los Angeles 94-79 on Dec. 31. Knight scored a career-high 37 points in the first meeting. "Im not sure what it was, but I was able to have two good games against them," Knight said. "Some teams you just match up well against and we did this year against the Lakers." Knight also hit the key shot, a 17-foot jumper with 16 seconds remaining to give the Bucks a 105-99 lead. "They did a good job of cutting off a drive to the basket, but I was able to step back and get a good jumper that went down," he said. "It really felt nice to win a game like that." Khris Middleton added 14 points for the Milwaukee, which won for only the 14th time this season. The Bucks hit 55.7 per cent from the field, just the eighth time this season the Bucks have shot better than 50 per cent. "We feel very fortunate that we were able to play well both times that we faced them, but I dont really sense pride in beating them twice to be honest," Bucks coach Larry Drew said. Drew said Knight and Sessions really opened the floor for Milwaukee. "We probably ran more pick-and-roll than any other game we played. But we really were just focused on trying to open up the floor and both guys were getting to the basket and making shots," he said. "They seemed to play well off one another tonight. "This is the NBA where anyone can win on any night," he said. "You have to give them credit. They were more aggressive than we were at the end and really took it to the basket hard." Young hit a 3-pointer and Hill made a jumper to trim the lead to 103-99 with 1:43 remaining. Knights 17-foot jumper then gave the Bucks a six-point lead. Young countered by hitting a 3-pointer with 16 seconds remaining, but the Lakers were unable to foul and Zaza Pachulia layup made it 107-102. Kent Bazemore hit a desperation 3-pointer for the Lakers with 2 seconds remaining, but Sessions was fouled and hit one of two free throws to make the score 108-105 with 0.6 seconds remaining. Young was unable to get off a final shot. "I felt like we could get it done, but it didnt happen," Young said.
