and sub-concussive impacts during his career,

WASHINGTON -- Ten former National Hockey League players, including all-star forward Gary Leeman, claimed in a class-action lawsuit that the league hasnt done enough to protect players from concussions. Anthony Rizzo Womens Jersey . The lawsuit seeks damages and court-approved, NHL-sponsored medical monitoring for the players brain trauma and/or injuries, which they blame on their NHL careers. It was filed in federal court in Washington on behalf of players who retired on or before February 14 of this year and have suffered such injuries. The suit comes just three months after the National Football League agreed to pay US$765 million to settle lawsuits from thousands of former players who developed dementia or other concussion-related health problems -- and in an era when more attention is being paid to the damages of head injuries sustained in sports. Among other things, the suit claims that: -- The NHL knew or should have known about scientific evidence that players who sustain repeated head injuries are at greater risk for illnesses and disabilities both during their hockey careers and later in life. -- Even after the NHL created a concussion program to study brain injuries affecting NHL players in 1997, the league took no action to reduce the number and severity of concussions during a study period from 1997 to 2004. "Plaintiffs relied on the NHLs silence to their detriment," the suit says. -- The league didnt do anything to protect players from unnecessary harm until 2010, when it made it a penalty to target a players head. "The NHLs active and purposeful concealment of the severe risks of brain injuries exposed players to unnecessary dangers they could have avoided had the NHL provided them with truthful and accurate information and taken appropriate action to prevent needless harm," the lawsuit says. Bill Daly, the leagues deputy commissioner, issued a statement Monday. "We are aware of the class-action lawsuit filed today in the United States District Court for the District of Columbia on behalf of a group of former NHL players. While the subject matter is very serious, we are completely satisfied with the responsible manner in which the league and the players association have managed player safety over time, including with respect to head injuries and concussions," the statement said. "We intend to defend the case vigorously and have no further comment at this time." The NHL didnt respond to APs requests for comment, but earlier this year, NHL commissioner Gary Bettman told The Canadian Press the league had "taken tremendous strides and put a great deal of effort and time and money into dealing with the issue of player safety, in general, and concussions, specifically. "We were the first sports league in 97 to have a joint working group to study concussions with the Players Association and our trainers and our physicians. We were the first sports league to do baseline testing, we were the first sports league to have protocols for diagnosis and return-to-play decisions. "This is something that we have always treated as important and will continue to treat as important," he added. The suit argues that the league continues to contribute to injuries today, by refusing to ban fighting and body-checking, and by employing "enforcers" whose main job is to fight or violently body-check opponents. And the lawsuit accuses the league of promoting a "culture of violence," in which players are praised for their fighting and "head-hunting" skills. Leeman, who played for the Toronto Maple Leafs, Calgary Flames, Montreal Canadians, Vancouver Canucks and St. Louis Blues from 1983-1996, suffered multiple concussions and sub-concussive impacts during his career, according to the lawsuit. Since his retirement, hes suffered from post-traumatic head syndrome, headaches, memory loss and dizziness, the lawsuit says. In addition to Leeman, the other ex-players on the lawsuit are: Bradley Aitken (Pittsburgh Penguins, Edmonton Oilers); Darren Banks (Boston Bruins); Curt Bennett (Blues, New York Rangers and Atlanta Flames); Richard Dunn (Buffalo Sabres and Calgary Flames); Warren Holmes, (Los Angeles Kings); Robert Manno, (Canucks, Maple Leafs and Detroit Red Wings); Blair James Stewart (Red Wings, Washington Capitals and Quebec Nordiques); Morris Titanic, (Sabres); and Rick Vaive (Canucks, Maple Leafs, Sabres, and Chicago Blackhawks). In a statement, Vaive said players "were kept in the dark about the risks of concussions and many of the former NHL players are now suffering from debilitating head injuries from their time in the league. Hopefully this lawsuit will shine a light on the problem and the players will get the help they deserve." Travis Wood Cubs Jersey . to bump the payroll well above the projected $1

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- It wasnt like North Dakota State could sneak up on No. New Balance 996 Uomo Revlite . 3 Ohio State. After watching film of the Bison pull off a huge upset at Notre Dame on Wednesday night, there was no way the Buckeyes were going to be on anything but high alert. LaQuinton Ross and Lenzelle Smith Jr. each scored 18 points and the Buckeyes never trailed in rolling over NDSU 79-62 Saturday night. "I said it after the game on Wednesday, so much for tip-toeing into Ohio State," NDSU coach Saul Phillips said. "We kind of clomped in here with big old (size) 16s on and they clocked us pretty good." The Buckeyes (9-0) continued their hot shooting. They made 53 per cent from the field, pushing them over 50 per cent for the fifth game in a row. Freshman Mark Loving had a career-high 12 points, and Sam Thompson also had 12. Aaron Craft added six points and seven assists -- setting a school record for career assists with 581 for the Buckeyes. Asked if the Buckeyes got a good look at what the Bison had done to the Fighting Irish, Craft said theyd watched the video like they were film critics. "Absolutely," he said. "Probably the best thing for us was that they beat Notre Dame and that really got our attention. Not that we try to really overlook anyone, but we got to sit down and see them play at their best. And we wanted to come out and play our best." The game was part of the BlackRock Gotham Classic. Taylor Braun led the Bison (7-4) with 21 points, while Marshall Bjorklund had 12 and Lawrence Alexander 10. NDSU shot 42 per cent from the field and was outrebounded 36-26. The Bison were coming off a 73-69 victory at Notre Dame, the programs first win against an ACC team. That win came against a Fighting Irish squad that was 124-10 at home over the last six-plus seasons. "They had some really big guys that can get up and that altered some shots inside," Braun said. "I dont think we expected them to shoot as well as they did from the 3-point line. That was a real difference in the game." The Buckeyes were 6 for 11 behind the arc in the first half and finished 10 of 20. The threat of hitting outside shots opened up things underneath. Down by as many as 19 points against the Buckeyes, the Bison went on a 7-2 run to pull within 14 midway through the second half. But Craft, who also had four steals and four rebounds, came up with a loose ball and fed Thompson, who was thrown to the floor by Bjorklund. Thompson hit both free throws after the flagrant foul, and then on the resulting possession, Craft lobbed an alley-oop to Thompson for a dunk that brought the crowd to its feet. Loving then hit back-to-back 3s and the lead was back up to 65-43 with 8 1/2 minutes left. "I was up all night a couple of nights ago trying to find a weakness," Phillips said. "And then I realized they really dont have a lot (of them)." The Bison were playing a ranked Division I opponent for only the seventh time. Theyve lost the last five since beating No. 13 Wisconsin and No. 9 Marquette in 2006. Ohio State built a 41-28 lead at the break. Ross overcame a sluggish start with 13 points while Smith had 10. The Buckeyes closed the first half with a 7-0 burst. Ross got a pass from Craft and buried a 3. After a Bison miss, Thompson hit a foul shot. Off another miss, Craft drove the lane and then twisted to fire a pass from underneath the basket to Thompson in the left corner. He put up a 3 that caught only net with 1.7 seconds left. That final pass tied Craft with Jamar Butler for the career record at Ohio State with 579 assists. Then on the Buckeyes first possession of the second half, Craft found Ross all alone under the basket for the record-breaker and a 43-28 lead. "Ever since Ive been here Ive had the easy job," the senior point guard said. "Ive played with a lot of great players, a lot of great shooters, who have done the hard part. I just have to find those guys and put them in a great opportunity to score. Ill have a lot of time to think about (this) when I get older. By the time Im a grandfather, itll probably be about 800 assists in my career." Ohio State cant move up in the coaches poll on Phillips ballot. "You know, in the coaches poll they only had one first-place vote. Guess who that first-place vote was," he said. "And that didnt change my mind tonight." http://www.nbalancescarpe.it/new-balance-996-revlite/new-balance-996-uomo-prezzo.html .com) - Another trip to Oakland . http://www.nbalancescarpe.it/new-balance-774.html . The steady progress of Devin Harris had a lot to do with the surge. Nowitzki scored 23 points, Harris had a season-high 16 and the Mavericks pulled away from Cleveland 124-107 Monday night, handing the Cavaliers their fifth straight loss.KISSIMMEE, Fla. -- The Atlanta Braves agreed Wednesday on a $14.1 million, one-year contract with Ervin Santana, bolstering their injury plagued starting rotation. The 33-year-old right-hander went 9-10 with a 3.24 ERA in 32 starts for the Kansas City Royals last season and should make a huge impact with the battered Braves, who are facing the prospect of losing Kris Medlen for the season and opening with Brandon Beachy and Mike Minor on the disabled list. Medlen, who had been announced as Atlantas opening-day starter, left a spring training outing Sunday after grabbing his right elbow. Initial tests showed ligament damage, and he will undergo further examination to determine if he needs surgery for the second time in less than four years. Medlen said hes already preparing himself to miss the entire season. Beachy left a start Monday because of continuing problems with his right elbow, and Minor has yet to pitch this spring because of a sore shoulder. "In light of what has happened over the past few days with our pitching staff, we felt it was incumbent on us to do everything we could to strengthen our starting pitching," Braves general manager Frank Wren told reporters before a game against Washington. Santana will be pitching in the NL for the first time in his 10-year career. He spent eight seasons with the Los Angeles Angels before being traded to the Royals in 2013, helping Kansas City post an 86-76 record, their best since 1989. But Santana, who made $13 million in the final year of his contract, turned down a $14.1 million qualifying offer from the Royals and became a free agent. Given his hefty contract demands, he remained unsigned as spring training began, despite putting up some impressive career numbers. "This guy makes our rotation a lot better than where we are at now," Braves manager Fredi Gonzalez said, praising Wren. "We lost Medlen and Beachy in a matter of 2 1/2 days and he went out there and got the best pitcher available for us." Santana threw a bullpen at the Braves spring training complex on Wednesday, which Gonzalez said went well. Despite his late entrance to camp, Santana could be ready for the start of the season. "It will be close," Gonzalez said. "We are kind of keeping our fingers crossed that we can get him enough innings where he can start for us." Santana was an AL All-Star in 2008, tossed a no-hitter in 2011, and has reached double-figure wins five times, going a career-best 17-10 in 2010 and twice winning 16 games. Overall, he is 105-90 with a 4.19 ERA. Santanas agent, Jay Alou, said he initially received a text from Wren on Sunday, then got another call Tuesday night while negotiating with other clubs. It didnt take long to reach an agreement with Atlanta, a deal that includes award bonuses. Its easy to see why the Braves felt a sensee of desperation. http://www.nbalancescarpe.it/new-balance-696.html. Medlen went a team-leading 15-12 with a 3.11 ERA last season, while Minor was 13-9 with a 3.21 ERA. The team also was counting on a full recovery for Beachy, who was one of the NLs most effective pitchers in 2012 before he underwent season-ending elbow surgery. Beachy has been limited to a total of 18 starts over the past two seasons, enduring several setbacks in his attempt to come back. After his latest problem, he will miss his next scheduled spring start and faces another trip to the DL. Minor, who underwent urinary tract surgery on Dec. 31, hopes to pitch within the next week but also seems likely to start the season on the DL while he builds his arm strength. Given all the health issues, the Braves got to the go-ahead from corporate owner Liberty Media to bump the payroll well above the projected $100 million limit. Wren called it "an incredible decision by the organization." With opening day less than three weeks away, the only healthy members of the Braves possible rotation are second-year pitchers Julio Teheran (14-8 last season) and Alex Wood, rookie David Hale and non-roster invitee Freddy Garcia. Hale and Garcia have both struggled this spring. Atlanta also signed veteran Gavin Floyd, but he is coming off Tommy John surgery and wont be ready to pitch until at least May. Now, add Santana to the list, though it will likely be mid-April before he is prepared to join the rotation. He has been throwing on the side and could make his spring training debut next week. "We want to take the right amount of caution to get him ready right, and be ready for the long haul," Wren said. By signing Santana, the Braves forfeited their first-round pick in Junes amateur draft, No. 26 overall, and the Royals will receive a compensation-round selection, the 28th overall. Atlantas first pick is now 32nd overall, as compensation for losing free agent catcher Brian McCann, who signed with the New York Yankees. Santanas signing leaves only two free agents -- Stephen Drew and Kendrys Morales -- available from the 13 players who turned down qualifying offers. If they agree to one-year contracts after opening day, they wouldnt be subject to qualifying offers this November. If they wait until after the draft to reach agreements, clubs that sign them wont lose selections. Among the 22 qualifying offers in the two years of the new labour contract, none have been accepted. "Frankly, the players havent adjusted to the change," New York Mets general manager Sandy Alderson said. "To blame the system versus the marketplace and blame the system versus a misunderstanding of the marketplace I think is a little one-sided. From a management standpoint, Id say, Hey, Im surprised if you guys havent taken a qualifying offer. Maybe they should have." Cheap Jerseys Wholesale Jerseys Wholesale Jerseys Cheap Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys Cheap Jerseys China Wholesale Jerseys ' ' '

LONDON - Barcelona and Real Madrid have overtaken the New York Yankees as the best-paid global sports teams, according to a British study.http://www.thejaguarslockroom.com/Youth-Tashaun-Gipson-Elite-Jersey/ . The review published Wednesday showed annual average pay during the 2009-10 season was US$7.9 million at Barcelona and $7.4 million at Real Madrid. The Yankees are paying their players an average of $6.8 million this season. The team last year topped the review which is compiled by www.sportingintelligence.com and is being published by ESPN The Magazine. The NBAs Los Angeles Lakers and Orlando Magic occupy the fourth and fifth spots, followed by English Premier League champion Chelsea. Manchester City, Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal also are among the 30 best-paid teams, making the Premier League the richest soccer league in the world. In the top 30, there are 10 NBA teams and eight MLB clubs. The report looked at average first-team pay in 14 of the worlds leading sports leagues, including Aussie Rules Football and crickets Indian Premier League. The Toronto Raptors were the top-ranked Canadian franchise at No. 46 (with an average annual pay of $3.92 million), sandwiched between the Deccan Chargers of crickets IPL and the Detroit Tigers. The Vancouver Canucks ($2.64 million) ranked 88th, ahead of the Ottawa Senators ($2.63 million) at No. 89, Montreal Canadiens ($2.52 million) at No. 93, Calgary Flames ($2.48 million) at No. 96, Toronto Maple Leafs ($2.27 million) at No. 118, Toronto Blue Jays ($2.02 million) at No. 139 and Edmonton Oilers ($1.90 million) at No. 150. "Weve know for years that the biggest bucks have been in American basketball and baseball but the rise and rise in wages among the elite of European football continues, closing that gap," said Nick Harris, the reports author. That, however, could change with new regulations from the Union of European Football Associations that starting next season will force clubs to stop spending more than they earn. "Financial Fair Play regulations may act as a brake on this inflation in football pay in a few years time, but for now the big guns in Europe are still splashing out," Harris said. --- With files from The Canadian Presshttp://www.thejaguarslockroom.com/Youth-Jalen-Ramsey-Elite-Jersey/ . Aspen quickly followed suit, and ticket prices at resorts across the country have consistently increased in the years since. http://www.thejaguarslockroom.com/Youth-Malik-Jackson-Elite-Jersey/ .com) - Coming down the stretch of a lengthy road trip, the Vancouver Canucks aim to rebound from just their second loss in seven games on Sunday evening as they visit the Ottawa Senators.St. Paul, MN (SportsNetwork.com) - Nino Niederreiter scored the winning goal with 4:33 to play as the Minnesota Wild rallied in the third period to take a 5-4 win over the New York Islanders. Mikko Koivu and Thomas Vanek each posted a goal and an assist while Jason Pominville and Erik Haula also scored for the Wild, who have won two of their last three. Niklas Backstrom made 15 saves for the win. We were able to collect ourselves and have much better focus in our game after the first period, said Wild head coach Mike Yeo. Weve got to stop having these bad starts because its not always going to end this way. Josh Bailey, Matt Martin, Brock Nelson and Michael Grabner all lit the lamp for the Islanders, who have lost their last two. Chad Johnson allowed all five goals on 30 shots. Weve got to learn from these losses, said New York head coach Jack Capuano. Its not like we played a terrible game, but I dont like the fact that they were throwing us around our net tonight. Trailing by three goals entering the third, the Wild got one back 2:51 in after Koivu skated from the right of the net to the circle and used a defender as a screen to zip a wrister past Johnson. The next goal didnt come until 11:03 when Haulas turnaround shot from the right side went off the skate of New Yorks Thomas Hickey in front and went in. Just 45 seconds later, the Wild tied the game as a right circle faceoff win saw the team control the puck, and a shot on net from the riight point saw Vanek eventually jam home the rebound. http://www.thejaguarslockroom.com/Youth-Chad-Henne-Elite-Jersey/. Niederreiter scored the winner less than four minutes later as the bouncing puck wound up in front and he tapped home his own rebound. The Isles were given a power play with 2:28 to play and pulled Johnson to skate 6-on-4 for much of the advantage, but were unable to pot the equalizer. It was all New York in the first period as Grabner scored on a wrister from the slot 8:31 in, and Nelson tipped in a Nick Leddy shot at 17:15 on the power play. Just 32 seconds later, the Isles made it a 3-0 game when Martin shot home a rebound from the left side. In the second period, Minnesota defender Keith Ballard was checked into the mid-ice boards by Matt Martin and stayed on the ice for several minutes. He was eventually helped into the dressing room and taken to a local hospital for further evaluation. No penalty was called on the play. The Wild got one back at 9:01 of the second on the power play thanks to Pominvilles tip of a Ryan Suter shot. New York didnt have its first shot of the second period until there was 2:43 left in the frame, but the team made it count as Bailey buried a backhand for his fourth of the year. Game Notes Minnesota hits the road for the next three games starting Thursday in San Jose ... New York plays in St. Louis on Thursday ... Each team went 1-for-5 on the power play ... Suter had three assists in the contest. Cheap Jerseys Wholesale Jerseys Wholesale Jerseys Cheap Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys Cheap Jerseys China Wholesale Jerseys ' ' '

Los Angeles, CA (SportsNetwork. http://www.thelionslockroom.com/Youth-Rafael-Bush-Elite-Jersey/ .com) - In a battle of future Hall of Famers, LeBron James and Kobe Bryant did not disappoint on Thursday at Staples Center. It was James and company, however, who got the best of the seasoned veteran Bryant. James totaled 36 points with five rebounds and five assists in the Cleveland Cavaliers 109-102 win over the Los Angeles Lakers. LeBron is an amazing basketball player, Lakers coach Byron Scott said. Kyrie Irving supplied 22 points and Kevin Love added 17 points despite dealing with back spasms as the Cavs snapped their season-high six-game losing streak. Coming off one of the worst shooting performances of his career, Bryant had a phenomenal game getting his teammates involved. He scored 19 points and deposited a career-high 17 assists, but his efforts could not keep the Lakers from dropping their third straight game. Cleveland coach David Blatt was under fire recently and criticized of his control of the team, prompting the notion that his job may not be too secure. He rallied his troops for at least one game, though, with help from his star. We locked in defensively in the second half, Blatt said. We got stops and we took care of the basketball. Were not out of the mud yet, but were going to be. James buried 3-pointers around a pair of Jeremy Lin free throws to push the Cavs in front, 79-75, entering the fourth. James continued to assert himself in the fourth, following a Love 3 with a basket and a pair of free throws before assisting on Matthew Dellavedovas trey that made it an 89-78 game with 9:11 left. I feel good. I was able to attack the paint, James said. We have to scratch right from the beginning. We picked up our intensity in the third quarter. Any win is huge. Los Angeles couldnt seem to make much headway until Wesley Johnson canned a corner triple to cut the deficit to six, but Tristan Thompson cleaned up a James miss at the other end to keep Cleveland in front, 102-94, with 2:48 remaining. Bryant kept Los Angeles close with a 3-pointer to make it a six-point spread, then made two at the line after Shawn Marion fouled him from beyond the arc with 43.5 seconds on the clock. James proceeded to drive the lane with Bryant defending, slice through a couple of Lakers and convert a layup that essentially sealed it. They made it less comfortable for us in the third quarter. They countered with good defense, Lin said. Earlier, J.R. Smith knocked down successive 3-pointers as the Cavs jumped out to a 14-4 lead in the early going. Los Angeles used a 10-0 run later in the quarter to take its first lead at 23-21. Both teams entered the second quarter tied at 30-30. Lin and Nick Young hit back-to-back 3s during a 10-2 run to open the second, but Cleveland responded with a 14-2 burst as Loves dunk at the midway point gave the Cavs a 46-42 lead. Bryant, who dished out 10 assists in the first half, capped the second quarter with a 3-pointer in front of Love to give the Lakers a 61-57 lead at the break. Game Notes Bryant had 15 assists in a 103-94 win over the Washington Wizards on Feb. 12, 2002 ... James has won 13 of the last 16 matchups against Bryant dating back to 2006 ... Jordan Hill had a team-high 20 points for LA ... Cleveland scored 12 points off 12 turnovers ... Smith scored 14 points in the win ... There were 16 lead changes and 11 ties.http://www.thelionslockroom.com/Youth-Brandon-Pettigrew-Elite-Jersey/ . How can you explain the Philadelphia Eagles battling for an NFC East title and losing to Minnesota when Minnesota does not have either of its starting running backs? How can Dallas, who can only get into the playoffs but end up being dominated in the second half by Green Bay. http://www.thelionslockroom.com/Youth-Jake-Rudock-Elite-Jersey/ . -- As Louisville strives to reach the high level of performance and consistency achieved by last years championship squad, the Cardinals also know that getting there will take time with a bunch of new faces.ANAHEIM, Calif. -- Although the Anaheim Ducks are running short on chances to prove theyre more than just a regular-season power, they didnt seem daunted before they headed out on a 30-mile road trip that could define their year. After the best regular season in franchise history, the Ducks have lost four of their past six playoff games heading into a critical Game 3 at Los Angeles on Thursday night. Its barely a slump, and it includes a near-victory that got away with 7 seconds left in regulation in the second-round opener. Yet the Ducks realize what hangs on their latest trip to Staples Center, and theyre comfortable with the risk. "The belief and the confidence in this group is pretty high," Anaheim defenceman Cam Fowler said. "We know that a lot of people are counting us out right now, but that only fuels us." During their best stretches of that remarkable regular season, the Ducks were a dominant offensive team, finishing second in the NHL with 266 goals. With Ryan Getzlaf and Corey Perry leading the way, Anaheim got consistent scoring from all four lines and methodically broke down almost any defensive team -- including the Kings, who beat the Ducks just once in five tries during the regular season. In the playoffs, Anaheim has managed just three goals against Jonathan Quick in two home losses. The Kings puck-possession style and mistake-free play in their own end are remarkable at times, and even the Ducks appreciated it while spending the past two days figuring out ways to counter it. "They certainly know how to win," Fowler said. "Their style translates well to playoff hockey. Very structured, no mistakes, and make the other team beat you. "Theyve done it before, and when Quick starts playing like he is now, thats when they become a hard team to beat. Theyre certainly peaking at the right time, and we know what were up against, but we have a belief in our group that we can do it." The Ducks have made some unique travel arrangements for the nominal roadd portion of this series. http://www.thelionslockroom.com/Youth-Travis-Swanson-Elite-Jersey/. After Wednesdays practice, they took a bus to a hotel across the street from Staples Center. Theyre staying downtown until Game 4 on Saturday, but theyll also take the bus back to Anaheim for practice on Friday. With just three goals in more than six playoff periods against the Kings, Anaheim might attempt to boost its offence by putting Kyle Palmieri back into the lineup. The goal-scoring wing, a healthy scratch in the Ducks past four games, skated alongside Nick Bonino and Devante Smith-Pelly at practice Wednesday. Palmieri scored a career-best 14 goals in the regular season, and he had five points in last seasons first-round series loss to Detroit. The Kings are up 2-0 in a playoff series for the sixth time in the past three seasons, reaching that mark as the road team an incredible five times. They led all four series 3-0 despite opening on the road each time during their 2012 rampage through the post-season to their first Stanley Cup title. The Kings also were down 0-3 in the first round last month against San Jose, which means they realize theyre only nominally in control of this series. "A 2-0 lead is great, but its not four. We know that better than anybody," Kings centre Jarret Stoll said. "Theyve outchanced us. Theyve beaten us in a lot of areas we need to be better at." The Kings are likely to be without injured defencemen Willie Mitchell and Robyn Regehr again in Game 3, but Matt Greene and Jeff Schultz have filled in splendidly so far. Even with Quick on top of his game, the Ducks are confident they can get back in the series by getting more pucks past him. They hope to have the support of travelling Anaheim fans after the Kings had a boisterous cheering section at Honda Center, too. "We played pretty well in the first two games, and we remind ourselves of that," Anaheim goalie Jonas Hiller said. "I dont think many things need to change. We just need to keep our confidence." Cheap Jerseys Wholesale Jerseys Wholesale Jerseys Cheap Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys Cheap Jerseys China Wholesale Jerseys ' ' '

Aaron Harrison added 13 points for the Wildcats (19-0, 6-0 SEC), who held South Carolina to just 22.6 percent from the field and blocked nine shots. Kentucky is off to its best start since the 2009-10 squad also opened the season with 19 straight wins Sindarius Thornwell was South Carolinas lone player in double figures with 14 points. So was Dwyane Wade, who even took an extra dribble before believing his eyes and sending a 50-foot pass to the best 3-point shooter in NBA history.UNIONDALE, N.Y. -- Even before John Tavares became the new captain of the New York Islanders, he developed a knack for netting game-winning goals. Nothing has changed in that regard since he got the C on his sweater. Tavares put the Islanders in front late in the second period, and New York overcame a quick two-goal spurt by Edmontons Taylor Hall for a 3-2 victory over the Oilers on Thursday night. New York (3-2-2) has played six one-goal games this season and this time maintained their slim advantage throughout a scoreless third period against the skidding Oilers (1-6-1). The 23-year-old Tavares, who became captain last month, has points in six straight games. "We were really focused tonight and we kept their skilled players at bay," said Tavares, who led the Islanders with 28 goals last season. "I like the way we kept it together in the third. It was a good way for us to finish it off." Tavares beat goalie Devan Dubnyk with a snap shot in front with 1:07 left in the second off a pass from Kyle Okposo. It was his fourth goal of the season. Okposo had scored his second during a power play at 4:54 of the middle period to make it 2-2. Josh Bailey put New York ahead 1-0 in the first before Hall struck. Hall gave the Oilers a 2-1 lead when he scored a pair of goals just 8 seconds apart in the first. That broke the club mark of 9 seconds, set by Wayne Gretzky on Feb. 18, 1981. That was little solace for Hall and the struggling Oilers, whose only win was a 5-4 shootout home victory over New Jersey on Oct. 7. "Its an empty feeling because a loss is a loss," said the 21-year-old Hall, the No. 1 pick in the 2010 NHL draft, one year after Tavares had the same honour. "Its great to know I have the record but tonight wasnt our best effort. The wheels have really fallen off for us as these losses have piled up." Hall, who has three goals on the season, displayed plenty of frustration. "We had the lead and chance to grab the reins and we didnt do it," he said. "We should have done better. Its tough." Edmonton has had its struggles on Long Island, too. This was the Oilers seventh straight road loss to the Islanders and their ninth in 12 overall meetings withh New York. Nathaniel Clyne England Jersey. They havent beaten the Islanders on the road since Dec. 14, 1999. The Islanders, 2-0-2 at home, surrendered late tying goals to Columbus and Buffalo before losing in shootouts at Nassau Coliseum. Against the Oilers, they played a strong third, outshooting Edmonton 15-8 and giving the Oilers few quality chances against Evgeni Nabokov, who made 27 saves. Okposos power-play goal, which came while Luke Gazdic served a tripping penalty, pulled the Islanders even. After Bailey opened the scoring at 9:59 of the first, Hall tied it with at 15:52 with a wrist shot from the left circle. He then knocked a rebound past Nabokov at 16:00. Except for the lapse during Halls scoring spurt, the Islanders dominated a briskly played first period, outshooting the Oilers 16-7. New York outshot Edmonton 40-29 overall. New Oilers coach Dallas Eakins was showing signs of exasperation, usually reserved for midseason slumps when teams tumble from playoff contention. After only eight games behind the bench, he was shaking his head. "I knew this renovation was going to be messy, but I didnt think it would be this messy," he said of the Oilers, who havent reached the playoffs since 2006. The 38-year-old Nabokov made several sharp saves for the Islanders, particularly on a one-timer by Nail Yakupov midway through the second. He recorded his 338th career win, 18th on the NHL list. "Your goalie has to be your best player sometimes, and Nabby certainly was, especially for the three penalties we had to kill," Islanders coach Jack Capuano said. "He was our best guy tonight." The Oilers, who have allowed a league-high 35 goals, were coming off a 3-2 loss at Pittsburgh on Tuesday after a 4-2 defeat at Washington the previous night. NOTES: The teams will meet March 6 in Edmonton. ... The Oilers are 0-3-1 on a six-game trip that continues in Ottawa on Saturday and concludes in Montreal on Oct. 22. ... The Oilers were missing centre Sam Gagner (broken jaw) and defenceman Corey Potter (back). ... Islanders fans booed Edmontons Ryan Smyth every time he touched the puck. Smyth left the Islanders after playing only 18 games after a heralded trade late in the 2006-07 season. Cheap Jerseys Wholesale Jerseys Wholesale Jerseys Cheap Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys Cheap Jerseys China Wholesale Jerseys ' ' '

BALTIMORE -- The Seattle Mariners have placed designated hitter Corey Hart on the 15-day disabled list with a bruised right knee. Andrea Bargnani Jersey . The move coincides with Seattle activating left-hander James Paxton of Ladner, B.C., from the 60-day DL. Paxton was slated to start against the Baltimore Orioles on Saturday night. Hart hurt his knee earlier in the week against Cleveland but played against the Orioles on Friday night. Hes batting .203 with five homers in 58 games this year. Paxton returns after spending time on the DL with a strained muscle in his left side following an appearance on April 8. He is 2-0 in two starts this season. To make room on the 40-man roster, right-hander Blake Beavan was outrighted to Triple-A Tacoma. Rondae Hollis-Jefferson Authentic Jersey . Evan Oberg opened the scoring for the Wolves (31-17-6) 9:27 into the first period and Ty Rattie added an insurance goal at 12:17 of the third while Abbotsfords Shane OBrien was serving a double minor for high sticking. Custom Brooklyn Nets Jersey . -- Arizona raced out to a big lead and did not back off, hitting the accelerator instead. Chicago, IL (Sports Network) - Joe Johnson went 5-of-5 from beyond the arc en route to 34 points, as the Atlanta Hawks used a strong fourth quarter to take down the top-seeded Chicago Bulls, 103-95, in Game 1 of their Eastern Conference semifinal series. Ex-Bull Jamal Crawford added 22 points off the bench for the fifth-seeded Hawks, who beat the Magic in six games to advance to the second round for the third consecutive season. Jeff Teague filled in for an injured Kirk Hinrich and scored 10 points for Atlanta, which outscored Chicago, 31-24, in the fourth quarter. Hinrich, who is also an ex-Bull, will likely miss the series after severely straining his hamstring in the clinching win over Orlando. As long as weve got each others backs in the locker room, we dont care about the criticism, Johnson said. Derrick Rose finished with 24 points and 10 assists for the Bulls, who needed five games to beat Indiana in the first round. This is Chicagos second trip to the Eastern Conference semis since the clubs last NBA Championship in 1998. Adding injury to insult, Rose twisted his left ankle in the final seconds of the game. The MVP candidate stepped on the back of Crawfords foot and came up limping, then walked gingerly into the locker room. I should be OK, Rose said. Luol Deng donated 21 points and six rebounds for the Bulls, who are led by NBA Coach of the Year Tom Thibodeau. Carlos Boozer had 14 points and eight boards, while Joakim Noah added 11 and nine. Game 2 of the series is scheduled for Wednesday, also in the Second City. Atlanta started its big fourth quarter with an 8-0 run. Johnson and Crawford made three-pointers around Teagues floater in the lane for an 80-71 lead. After Rose made a pair of jumpers around a Zaza Pachulia layup, the Hawks ripped off five straight points to build an 87-75 margin. Chicago responded with a 6-0 flurry to cut the gap to six,, 87-81, with under six minutes to play. Drazen Petrovic Authentic Jersey. But a 5-0 Atlanta spurt moments later essentially put the game away. Crawford made a jumper and technical free throw around Josh Smiths jumper to give the Hawks a 94-83 advantage. Chicago never got closer than eight the rest of the way. Weve got to come back and play with an edge, Rose said. The Hawks quieted the crowd with a 9-0 run to start the game. Chicago finally got on the board with 7:22 left when Deng made two free throws. Atlanta shot 59.1 percent from the field over the first 12 minutes to take a 28-18 lead. The main story in the first quarter was the Hawks ability to limit Rose to zero points. The Bulls woke up midway through the second stanza. Trailing 39-30, Chicago went on an 8-2 flurry. Deng scored the final four points of the spurt to get the home team within three, 41-38. A Kyle Korver three-pointer and Dengs bank shot got the Bulls within one, 47-46, with 1:09 to go. Chicago trailed by a 51-50 margin at the half. The Bulls carried that momentum into the second half, starting the third quarter on a 10-5 burst. Rose, who was limited to five points in the first half, tallied six points during the surge that Boozer capped with a hook shot for a 60-56 lead. A personal 5-0 surge by Johnson late in the frame gave the Hawks a 70-69 edge. The visitors took a 72-71 lead into the fourth. GAME NOTES:The Bulls won two of three from Atlanta in the regular season. The teams have met four times previously in the postseason dating back to 1966-67 when the Hawks called St. Louis home. Each club has taken two series, the Hawks in 66-67 and 69-70 and the Bulls in 92-93 and 96-97...The Hawks shot 51.3 percent from the field, including a 7-for-13 performance from three-point range...The Bulls went 8-of-18 from beyond the arc...Rose went 11-of-27 from the field and went to the foul line zero times. Cheap Jerseys Wholesale Jerseys Wholesale Jerseys Cheap Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys Cheap Jerseys China Wholesale Jerseys ' ' '

DETROIT -- The Detroit Red Wings experienced a lull after a fast start but got the two points they needed. http://www.hockeyflamesfanshop.com/Mikael-Backlund-Jersey/ . Daniel Alfredsson had a goal and an assist and Detroit held off the Buffalo Sabres 3-2 on Friday night for the Red Wings fourth consecutive win. Detroit led 3-0 after the first period. "To me, I thought we started really good, we were all over them," said Red Wings coach Mike Babcock, who got his 413th win for Detroit, which ties him for the all-time franchise record with Jack Adams. "I thought suddenly we had some skill and suddenly we were dangling around with the puck and now we had the cute-itis going and then we didnt want to shoot it in the net," he said. "We wanted to pass it one more time and the next thing you know its game on instead of just doing things simple and hard and right." Darren Helm and Tomas Jurco also scored for Detroit, which is in the seventh playoff spot in the Eastern Conference, three points ahead of the eighth-place Columbus Blue Jackets. Danny DeKeyser had two assists and Jimmy Howard made 21 saves. Jamie McBain scored and Nicolas Deslauriers got his first career goal for Buffalo, which has the NHLs worst record. Matt Hackett stopped 28 shots. "We had nothing to lose. Got the day off tomorrow. Just tried to leave it all on the ice . After the tough start," McBain said. The Sabres lost in St. Louis 2-1 on Thursday night and didnt get to their hotel in Detroit until 4 a.m. Friday morning. "We talked about having excuses. We couldve had a real good one," Buffalo coach Ted Nolan said. "I think tired is a state of mind. We got in at four this morning and slept in. It wasnt that short of a night." Deslauriers pulled the Sabres within one at 6:40 of the third period, sending in a loose puck from the slot. "Yeah, I got a little more nervous at the end there. They were all over us and we all know we need those points," Jurco said. "It got a little more nervous towards the end but I think we handled it pretty well." McBains power-play goal put Buffalo on the scoreboard with 7:32 left in the second period. He beat Howard with a wrist shot from the left circle for McBains fifth goal. Alfredsson tried to explain the letdown. "I think its the pressure, the time of the year, the magnitude of the game, being a game we cant afford to lose, all those things combined, I think makes for us being cautious, more than playing hard for 60," he said. "Before we feel like the underdog and feel like we can claw ourselves into games and find a way to win and today were the favourites and didnt handle that as well as we can." Helm opened the scoring 5:47 into the game when he put in a loose puck from Hacketts right at the side of the crease. It was Helms 11th goal. Jurco and Andersson then scored 1:16 apart. Jurco tipped Dekeysers shot from the point out of the air and past Hackett for a power-play goal with 5:48 left in the first. It was Jurcos seventh goal and second in two games. It came with John Scott in the penalty box for hooking. Alfredsson got his 18th goal, with 4:32 remaining in the opening period, when he scored on a rebound. Former Marseille forward Jordan Ayew scored the penalty. The draw meant two-time defending champion Paris Saint-Germain — which is unbeaten in 21 games this season — can move into first place by beating struggling Lille on Wednesday, although star striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been rested.Gignac, the leagues co-top scorer on 11 goals with Lyons Alexandre Lacazette, held his head in his hands when he failed to score with just 10 seconds left in injury time. A loose ball fell to him but Gignacs shot was slightly too close to goalkeeper Benjamin Lecomte. We could have finished the game off but we didnt take our chances.
