STANFORD, Calif. Derek Norris Padres Jersey . - Venus Williams feels like the hometown girl when she plays at Stanford even though she grew up in Southern California and currently resides in Florida. She has enjoyed a lot of success here, made her professional debut at the event, and the crowd was clearly supporting her. "Its nice to have that support," Williams said after advancing to the Bank of the West quarterfinals Thursday night, beating fourth-seeded Victoria Azarenka 6-4, 7-6 (1). "It was good to hear the oohs and aahs for both of us," the unseeded Williams said. "I dont want to let anybody down. This year has been a lot more relaxing than Southern California." Williams and Azarenka, both former world No. 1s, are working their way back to high level tennis following injuries and illness. Williams, who is 4-0 against the Belarusian, appears slightly ahead in her development. "Its always great to get a win against a player like Victoria, who is a champion," Williams said. "We played a high level and it got better as the match went on." After the 10th-ranked Azarenka, who celebrated her 25th birthday, saved three match points to tie it 6-6, Williams won the first five points in the tiebreaker. "The tiebreaker felt great," Williams said. "It brought out my best tennis. I needed the challenge." Azarenkas second serve was the biggest difference between the hard-hitting players. She won just 32 per cent of her second serves, handing Williams a significant advantage. "We both had good points," Azarenka said. "Venus was a little better on her execution on important points. I have to be realistic and look at the things that have to be done. Its not easy being patient but if I wanted easy, Id go sit on a couch." Despite losing, Azarenka was glad to be playing tennis on her birthday. "Losing is never satisfying," she said. "But I left the best part of my day on the court. I was able to do something I love on my birthday." Williams, who reached her third quarterfinal of the season, will face eighth-seeded Andrea Petkovic on Friday. Williams, in her 12th career appearance at Stanford, reached her 10th quarterfinal. She has won twice and finished second five times. Azarenka won the event in 2010 and has been eliminated in the second round in her last two appearances. "I was moving well and it was a good start," Azarenka said. "I know there is work to be done and that is what I want to do." Fifth-seeded Ana Ivanovic also advanced, beating qualifier Carol Zhao 6-1, 6-1. The 11th-ranked Serb, looking for her fourth title of the year, will face top-ranked Serena Williams on Friday. "It will be a tough challenge but a good test to see where I need to work," Ivanovic said. "Its a different part of the season and a different kind of tournament." Ivanovic will move into the top 10 next week for the first time in five years. "I cant think too much about the future," Ivanovic said. "I am looking to turn it around at the U.S. Open. After the match today I went back out on the court to get the rhythm back on my serve. Thats what I need to be doing." Zhao, a sophomore All-America at Stanford, appeared in her second WTA Tour event and gained her first career win at the level Tuesday when Yanina Wickmeyer retired because of a viral infection. Ivanovic, a former No. 1, had three aces and won 75 per cent of her first-serve points. In other matches, third-seeded Angelique Kerber beat Coco Vandeweghe, 7-6 (4), 0-6, 6-2, and Garbine Muguruza topped Daniela Hantuchova, 6-4, 6-4. Randy Jones Jersey . VANCOUVER -- Jordan Harvey didnt quite know what to make of the Vancouver Whitecaps coming into the 2014 campaign. Authentic Jay Cutler Jersey . After a tumultuous off-season that included the teams head coach getting fired -- as well as its best player forcing his way out of town -- the defender wasnt alone. "I had a lot of questions," Harvey said this week. "It was a young team and everything, but we acquired some really quality players. We had that first game (a 4-1 home victory over the New York Red Bulls) and the expectations were huge, but we also saw how high we could reach and the bar was set. "I think we have the consistency, the depth to maintain that." Nearly a third of the way through the season, those characteristics will be put to the test on Saturday when the Whitecaps (4-2-4) host the top team in Major League Soccer at B.C. Place Stadium as the Seattle Sounders (8-3-1) travel north to face their bitter geographic rivals. Watch the game live on TSN2 and TSN GO at 7pm et/4pm pt. "Arguably theyre the best team in Major League Soccer at the moment. The league table doesnt lie," said Whitecaps head coach Carl Robinson. "Its a good test for us to see where we are. Its a test that Im looking forward to as a coach, and I know my players certainly are. "Theyre a very a good team, but let me tell you, so are we." The Whitecaps enter Saturday with 16 points through 10 games, but just one of their four wins have come against Western Conference opponents -- a trend from last season that Vancouver will have to shake if it wants to return to the playoffs after missing out in 2013. "Its vitally important. Winning any game of football is good, but obviously every time you dont win against a Western team youre losing points and theyre gaining points," said Robinson. "Its very important and we need to make sure that we compete with the Western teams and beat the Western teams. Thats a big focus for us this year because we didnt do it enough last year." The Sounders have 25 points from their 12 games, but will be without midfielder Clint Dempsey, who is away with the U.S. national team as it prepares for the World Cup in Brazil. "Its a test for us because Seattle are where they are," said Robinson. "Weve had a very positive start. Weve still got a lot of work to do, a lot of improving to do, and well continue to do that, whatever the result on Saturday. Its just a marker for us to see where we are." The Sounders have won five of six and are coming off a 1-0 win over the San Jose Earthquakes last weekend, while the Whitecaps will have had 10 days off since bowing out of the Amway Canadian Championship semifinals to Toronto FC on May 14. "I think its going to be a game thats going to be a bit open," Sounders head coach Sigi Schmid told the clubs official website. "Theyre a team that likes to counter attack and get forward, so it might open up at certain times during the game." Theres no doubt the Whitecaps have turned heads around MLS ten games into the schedule after a tricky off-season. Robinson was promoted from an assistants role to replace former head coach Martin Rennie in December after a prolonged search, with the Welshman taking over just in time to watch star striker Camilo Sanvezzo refuse to honour the final year of his contract. Undaunted by that setback, Robinson brought in talented fresh faces, including Matias Laba and Pedro Morales and the roster has gelled quickly. "I think weve surprised a lot of people. I dont think weve surprised the dressing room, though," said Vancouver captain Jay DeMerit. "I think the manager has kept the squad that he wants here because he believes that we can be capable of the things weve been doing the first 10 games. "Its up to us to make sure we go beyond that." The veteran defender has been with the Whitecaps since the club joined MLS in 2011 and knows the importance of beating the top teams in the West -- something Vancouver did twice last season against Seattle. "It has to come from us," said DeMerit. "It has to come from the fact that we believe in it and we believe we can do it and do it consistently." While the Sounders will be without Dempsey on Saturday, the Whitecaps will have to be wary of Seattle striker Obafemi Martins, who has five goals and six assists. "Hes a top player. Hes a world-class footballer," said Robinson. "Hes someone who scores goals and thats why hes paid big money. Weve got to make sure we eliminate the service into him and eliminate him on the ball because hes a fantastic player." Apart from its importance in the standings, the game is also Vancouvers first of the season in the regional Cascadia Cup -- a mini-tournament played between the Whitecaps, Sounders and the Portland Timbers. The team with the most points in the games played amongst the three clubs at the end of the season takes the title, which Vancouver did in 2013. "Its like a playoff atmosphere," said Harvey. "You can feel the support, the energy from the fans and its always one that we want to win for them. The Cascadia Cup -- thats some hardware that we want to keep." DeMerit likens the atmosphere to the local derbies he was a part of during his time playing in England. "You get that full atmosphere, that constant hum of chants, that full intensity that comes with that rivalry and that only rivalry games seem to create," said the 34-year-old. "Both sets of fans are very passionate about their clubs and thats what we want. Thats what were trying to build here in North America and in MLS and theres no better example than the Cascadia rivalry." Notes: The Whitecaps are 3-1-1 at home so far this season, while the Sounders have the same record on the road. ... Seattle and Portland tied the only other Cascadia game played so far this season 4-4. Each team plays six games in the competition. The Whitecaps visit the Timbers on June 1. ... Vancouver announced Thursday that striker Darren Mattocks has obtained a green card in the U.S., freeing up an international roster spot. ... Harvey and DeMerit, who are both American, said they were surprised that Los Angeles Galaxy star Landon Donovan was left off the U.S. World Cup team. Said Harvey: "Thats a crazy decision. Im really shocked by it. Hes a quality player -- best U.S. player in history." Authentic Walter Payton Jersey .  My seventh week of fight ready fitness had me arguing flexibility and conditioning with a few people. The lasting image of Sundays race, however, will be Scott Dixon stuck in his car against the wall after another unfortunate run-in with rival Will Power. Pagenaud charged to the lead after a series of collisions involving several other contenders on the bumpy, challenging street course that runs through the middle of the city. None of those mishaps was more significant than the one involving Dixon and Power. Last week at Sonoma, Dixon held the lead until he received a drive-through penalty with 15 laps to go for hitting a tire in the left hand of Powers tire holder. Power won the race. On Saturday, Power spun Dixon during practice. Then came Sunday, when the duo ran into each other again -- quite literally. During a restart on the 53rd lap, Power swerved right in a crowd in front of Dixon while trying to pass Sebastien Bourdais. Power clipped the barrier, and Dixon ultimately lost control and smacked into the wall, ending his day. Afterward, a distraught Power said, "I was just looking at Bourdais back. I had a good run on him and I was going to go off his inside. Dixon, obviously, had the same run on me. I feel bad. I just didnt even think to look in my mirror. I was just trying to win the race, trying to beat Bourdais. I feel terrible. Im just so sorry." Power made it to the pit but was given a penalty for interference and finished 18th, one spot ahead of Dixon. Dixon was mad at just about everybody, including Graham Rahal (for earlier spinning Dixons car) and Oriol Servia, whom he accused of passing him on a yellow flag. He also took a shot at IndyCar officials for not allowing him the chance to get back into the race. "That restart was a complete botch," Dixon said. "I had an overtake advantage on Power -- it must have been in fourth gear, so they cant complain about wheel spin. Then I got beside him and he ran me straight into the wall. Then, they wouldnt (let me) bring the car back." James Hinchcliffe of Oakville, Ont., was seventh. It was the second career victory for Pagenaud, both this year. The 29-year-old Frenchman joiins Power and Ryan Hunter-Reay as winners of this 3-year-old race. Authentic Gale Sayers Jersey. "I struggled there for a bit, but we picked up in the middle section there (and) we got very lucky on the restarts," Pagenaud said. Bourdais, who finished third behind Josef Newgarden, said about the wacky afternoon: "It was one those races, when you finish, you feel like you survived. It was the usual Baltimore chaos, with one restart after another." The collision between Power and Dixon came after a pileup on the turn in front of the baseball stadium. On Lap 48, Rahal spun Dixon and created a logjam involving five cars. Minutes before that, IndyCar points leader Helio Castroneves received a black flag for a safety violation during a restart. Castroneves finished ninth but increased his points lead to 49 over Dixon, who remained in second place. Pagenaud moved into third place, 70 points off the pace. Tony Kanaan, the Indianapolis 500 winner, made IndyCar history by participating in his 212th consecutive race. He eclipsed the mark held by Jimmy Vasser while driving in the No. 11 Chevrolet for Vassers KV Racing team. Kanaan hit the wall near the end of the race and finished 15th. "It was a very physical and bizarre race," Kanaan said. Hunter-Reay fell off the pace early with an electronics issue and never recovered. He was forced to withdraw from the race after 42 laps with mechanical difficulties. "It just died all of a sudden," he said. Hunter-Reay started the day in third place in the point standings and fell to fifth. "To see the championship slip away, its frustrating," he said. James Jakes and Takuma Sato dropped out of the race early with mechanical difficulties. Luca Filippi followed, and Dario Franchitti broke down for good after 22 laps. It was a particularly bad day for Franchitti, who before the race received a 10-spot grid penalty for an unapproved engine change. Before the race, IndyCar officials placed rookie Tristan Vautier on probation and fined him $10,000 for actions during qualifying Saturday, when his car made contact with the car driven by Rahal under a waving yellow flag condition. Cheap Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys China Cheap Jerseys From China Authentic China Jerseys Wholesale Jerseys China Cheap Jerseys Wholesale Jerseys Cheap Jerseys ' ' '

SYDNEY, Australia -- An Australian is expected to guide the Socceroos when Football Federation Australia chooses a new coach, chairman Frank Lowy said on Tuesday.Brandon Crawford Giants Jersey . German veteran Holger Osieck helped Australia navigate the Asian World Cup qualifying tournament to secure a spot in Brazil but was fired last weekend in the wake of back-to-back 6-0 losses to Brazil and France in friendlies. To replace Osieck, "our preference is clearly for an Australian coach," Lowy said. "Three names are being talked about and its not wrong that we have three possible Australian candidates." Melbourne Victory coach Ange Postecoglou and former Socceroos assistant coach Graham Arnold are considered to be the front-runners, with a decision expected within two weeks. Speculation has also brought up Guus Hiddink, the Dutchman who guided Australia to the second round at the 2006 World Cup after helping South Korea reach the semifinals in 2002, and former Liverpool manager Gerard Houllier. With only eight months until the World Cup, and with Australia hosting the next Asian Cup in early 2015, Lowy said the FFA would be seeking to appoint a long-term manager. Osiecks departure followed a trend for Australian national teams in recent months, with two other foreign coaches being fired after poor performances in international competition since July. New Zealander Robbie Deans was fired after the Wallabies lost to the British and Irish Lions in a rugby union series, and South African Mickey Arthur was fired as Australia cricket coach only weeks before the Ashes series in England. In both cases, they were replaced by Australians. Willie McCovey Authentic Jersey . That is how long it has been since Canadas mens national team were humiliated 8-1 in their final World Cup qualifying match in Honduras.Jeff Samardzija Authentic Jersey . -- Jed Lowrie and Oakland are hoping Saturdays ninth inning against Houston will carry over to the rest of the season for the Athletics. WINNIPEG -- Glenn Howard played a game that was memorable for all the wrong reasons at the Canadian curling trials Tuesday night. The four-time world champion from Penetanguishene, Ont., allowed 2010 Olympic gold medallist Kevin Martin to score four in the ninth end in a 9-7 come-from-behind victory. "Thats the worse loss of my life, right there," said Howard, 51, whos also won four Briers. The victory lifted Martins record to 4-0, keeping the Edmonton skip as one of only two undefeated rinks at the trials, which will determine Canadas mens and womens teams at next years Olympics in Sochi, Russia. Howards rink drops to 1-3. Reigning Canadian champion Brad Jacobs from Sault Ste. Marie, Ont., has also yet to lose a game after he beat Calgarys Kevin Koe 9-4. Koe is at the bottom of the field with a 0-4 record, while hometown favourite Jeff Stoughton is 1-3 following an 11-5 loss to B.C.s John Morris (3-1). Mike McEwen, Manitobas other mens rink, defeated Torontos John Epping 10-7. McEwen improved to 2-2 and Epping is 1-3. "Its just hard out there," Martin said after a game he described as making him feel "spent." "Its a very emotional day, and games. Every one so far, all four, have just been battles to the last inch." Just over 7,430 fans at the MTS Centre witnessed Howards defeat, which the veteran said came at the hands of some unpredictable ice. That was especially true in the ninth end, when Martin scored the deadly four points to move ahead 8-7. "(Second) Brent (Laing) missed a peel and then the ice got unbelievably straight in the last two or three ends," Howard explained. &qquot;I threw a real good shot in my last one in nine and for some reason it didnt curl. Willie McCovey Giants Jersey. I have no idea why. "I was happy with the way I let it go and it ends up being six to eight inches too much ice, which is unreal. Why? Why doesnt it curl there?" The killer in Koe and Jacobs game was the eighth end, when Jacobs was sitting four and Koe, the 2010 world champion, had the hammer and missed. The steal of four ended the match. Competitors have said this week its doubtful any team will go undefeated, and Jacobs was still believing that. "Obviously, anybody can beat anyone out there and its happening," said Jacobs, 28, who got his spot in Winnipeg out of the pre-trials event. "Everyone sees it, so real tough to go undefeated. I totally agree with that statement. Its virtually impossible, Id say, but there is a slight chance and right now were undefeated." Stoughton was discouraged after his loss, which included a bad fourth end. He flashed on his first throw and his second hit a Morris rock and then rolled out. That left Jim Cotter a draw to anywhere in the 12-foot for three and a 4-2 lead. Morris is skip, but throws third rocks. Stoughton looked mad at himself and briefly left the ice. He also failed to blank an end and then Morris went up 6-3 with a deuce in the sixth. "We need a lot of help, and thats too bad," said Stoughton, a 2011 world champion whos making his fifth and last try to get to an Olympics. "We had our fate in our own hands playing John because it would have brought everyone down to two losses and (then) youre basically in a playoff spot." Cheap Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys China Cheap Jerseys From China Authentic China Jerseys Wholesale Jerseys China Cheap Jerseys Wholesale Jerseys Cheap Jerseys ' ' '

The Toronto Blue Jays look ready to make a change at the President position. Joe Nieuwendyk Flames Jersey . According to ESPN’s Buster Olney, Blue Jays ownership is actively seeking a replacement for long-time President and CEO Paul Beeston, and that Baltimore Orioles GM Dan Duquette is among the candidates. Fox Sports’ Ken Rosenthal took it one step farther in saying that Duquette was a top candidate to replace Beeston and that because the move would be a promotion, it would be hard for the Orioles to stand in the way. “We signed (Duquette). He has a commitment for four more years, and he has done quite a job for us, Orioles owner Peter Angelos told The Baltimore Sun. We are very pleased with his performance, and we expect him to satisfy his contract. We not only want him to, but we expect him to. We don’t want him to go away, and we don’t expect him to go away. And he’s given no indication he wants to go away.” Duquette has been with the Orioles the past three seasons and credited for helping turn the team’s fortunes. Prior to his stint with Baltimore, Duquette was out of MLB for nearly a decade, but also has successful stints as general manager with the Boston Red Sox and Montreal Expos. “He is a sophisticated individual,” Angelos told The Baltimore Sun about Duquette. “He has a certain performance that is required in terms of the contract and, under those terms, he has four more years of service to be performed. I’m sure he is prepared to do that, and I am sure he understands that.” Beeston began with the Blue Jays when they entered the league and became President and CEO for the first time in 1989. He left for the commissioner’s office in 1997 but returned to Toronto for his second stint in 2009. According to ESPN, there is speculation Beeston, 69, is contemplating retiring soon. ESPN also mentioned Chicago White Sox executive vice-president Ken Williams as someone the Jays have discussed for the position. St. Paul Pioneer Press is reporting that Minnesota Twins general manager Terry Ryan is also on the Blue Jays radar as a possible replacement for Beeston. Gary Roberts Jersey . According to bodog.ca, the Roughriders are 3-1 favourites to hoist the Grey Cup again at BC Place Stadium in Vancouver next November. Theoren Fleury Jersey . Currently, the Stars hold down the second and final wild card spot with 87 points while the Coyotes are one point back and the Predators are six points behind the Stars. All three teams have four games remaining.WASHINGTON -- With captain Alex Ovechkin out, the Washington Capitals needed someone to pick up the scoring slack. Mathieu Perreault filled the role -- and then some. Perreault got his first career hat trick, including the tie-breaking goal in the third period, to lead the Capitals to a 5-3 victory over the Boston Bruins on Tuesday night. "This is the best feeling ever," Perreault said. "Getting three goals and we win the game, this is awesome." Perreaults third goal of the game came 7:18 into the third period when he put in a rebound off Roman Hamrliks shot to give Washington the lead. The score broke a three-all tie and brought hats raining down onto the Verizon Center ice. "It was outstanding," forward Matt Hendricks said. "Kids been working extremely hard all season. Hes been in and out of the lineup. He comes to the rink with that smile on his face and hes got a great personality, great guy to be around. I feel great for him. Im so happy. Everybody else in this room Im sure feels the same way." Rich Peverley, Tyler Seguin and Brad Marchand scored for Boston in the final game for both teams before the all-star break. The Capitals were without Ovechkin, who was serving the first game of a three-game suspension for a hit on Pittsburgh defenceman Zbynek Michalek in Washingtons loss Sunday. Ovechkin also announced Tuesday he would skip the NHL all-star game, saying, "My heart is not there." Washington was already missing another key offensive player: centre Nicklas Backstrom, who missed his 10th straight game after being elbowed in the head. "Youre not going to replace Alex, but as a committee were going to have to get the goals," Washington coach Dale Hunter said before the game. "We need people to step up." Perrault certainly did. His first goal came at 2:55 in the second period, 41 seconds after Cody Eakin scored Washingtons first goal. Perreault brought the puck down the centre of the ice, passed to Alexander Semin on the right side, and Semin sent it back to Perreault, who was between the circles. Perrault flipped the puck past Boston goalie Tuukka Rusk after he had moved to cutt off a possible Semin shot. Sam Bennett Flames Jersey. The teams then traded scores off turnovers. Seguin picked off a pass from Capitals defenceman John Carlson in Washingtons zone and scored at 12:21 in the second. Perreault put the Capitals ahead again about two minutes later, stealing a pass in the middle of the ice and converting on a breakaway for his second of the game. "That breakaway was one of my nicest goals," Perreault said. "But that third one, when you get that hat trick, its awesome. The crowd gets into it, and the hats are going onto the ice -- its just awesome." Perreault was also at the centre of Bostons goal late in the second period which tied the game at three, when he was whistled for a hooking penalty with about three minutes to play in the period. Boston took advantage as Marchand banged in a rebound with 2:18 left. Perreaults third goal gave Washington the lead, and Dennis Wideman had an empty-net goal in the final minute to secure the victory. "Not a very good game for us to end with before the break, no doubt," said Boston coach Claude Julien. "Probably the positive thing is weve got five days to think about that, and come back hopefully refreshed, rejuvenated and playing with a lot more energy." While the Bruins head into the all star break disappointed, the Capitals ended the first half of the season on a high note after struggling at times this season. "I think it was one of the biggest (wins) of the year," Hendricks said. "We didnt have all of our skill in the lineup, we didnt have our leader in Ovi. We really knew we had to play as a team tonight, come together as a great hockey team, and I think we did that." NOTES: Boston RW Nathan Horton sat out his first game of the season with what Julien termed a "mild concussion." Julien said he hoped Horton would be able to return after the all-star break. ... Boston G Tim Thomas, who skipped Mondays White House ceremony honouring the teams Stanley Cup win last season, did not play. ... Hunter said he didnt expect Ovechkin to be handed a three-game suspension. "I was surprised it was as harsh as it was," the coach said before the game. Cheap Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys China Cheap Jerseys From China Authentic China Jerseys Wholesale Jerseys China Cheap Jerseys Wholesale Jerseys Cheap Jerseys ' ' '

The 26th-ranked Cornet scored her first career victory over a No. 1 player when she upset Serena Williams 6-4, 6-4. "Im so excited," Cornet said, smiling broadly. "I didnt expect that definitely, and Im really, really happy and proud of myself. "Shes one -- or maybe -- the biggest champion of history, and, wow, just thinking that I beat her today." Earlier in the day, Venus Williams earned her spot in the final when she dominated eighth-seeded Caroline Wozniacki of Denmark 6-3, 6-2. Serena Williams, playing in her first tournament since losing in the Australian Open fourth round, offered no excuses. She said her back, which had been hurting in recent weeks, was fine. "Im a wee bit embarrassed," said Williams, who started laughing. "She played really well. I just didnt play today. "I tried, though. I dont think I have made that many errors in a match in I think at least three years, maybe four years." Williams gave herself a failing grade for being unable to find a winning formula for the match: "I think out of a 10, I was at like a negative 283." Cornet won the first set when Williams flinched while serving in the ninth game. Cornet, who reached the Paris Indoors semifinal earlier this month, took advantage of her one-set point in the 10th game with a winning backhand down the line. The Frenchwoman then jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead in the second set, but Williams rebounded. Cornet broke Williams serve again in the seventh game with a winning forehand down the line. Williams fought off four match points on her owwn serve in the ninth game, but Cornet served out the match at love. Air Max 90 Hyperfuse Premium heren/dames wit & Metallic zilver & Pin & grijs opleiding schoenen. "I know her, and I know she feels the moment when she has to put more into making the opponent feel that shes still here," Cornet said. "But I did it, too. I showed her that I would be there till the end. "So when she was screaming louder, I was screaming louder. She was hitting harder, I was hitting harder." In contrast to her sister, the 44th-ranked Venus Williams has been playing top level tennis all week long in Dubai. A former two-time Dubai champion in 2009 and 2010, Williams currently holds a 14-match winning streak at the tournament. She didnt play in this event between 2011 and 2013. "I feel like Ive just gotten so much better since my first round to now, just feeling comfortable on the court, feeling comfortable when Im behind, feeling comfortable when Im in the lead," Williams said. Williams, who lost the Auckland final to Ana Ivanovic last month, lost an early 2-0 lead in the first set. But from 2-2, Williams always held the lead in the match. Williams failed to serve out the first set at 5-2, surrendering that eighth game at love. Wozniacki, however, surrendered her serve -- and the first set -- on a second set point in the next game Williams broke Wozniackis serve at 15-40 with a textbook backhand volley for a 2-0 lead in the second set. She broke serve again in the eighth game for the win. "I didnt really feel like I could go out and play what I wanted to play," said Wozniacki, who won the Dubai trophy in 2011. "Once I got going, she started to play better as well. It was kind of uphill today." Venus Williams holds a 3-0 lead in matches played against Cornet. Cheap Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys China Cheap Jerseys From China Authentic China Jerseys Wholesale Jerseys China Cheap Jerseys Wholesale Jerseys Cheap Jerseys ' ' '

MONTREAL -- Guy Lapointe was gardening in his front yard last week when Montreal Canadiens owner Geoff Molson pulled up to his house for an unannounced visit. Gustav Nyquist Jersey . Lapointe didnt know what was in store for him. As it turned out, the former Canadiens defenceman was about to receive an unexpected honour. From Lapointes kitchen in Saint-Lazare, Que., Molson announced that the Hall-of-Famer will become the 18th player in Canadiens history to have his jersey retired by the team. The retirement ceremony will occur during the course of this coming National Hockey League season. "Its extraordinary," Lapointe said Thursday at the Canadiens Hall of Fame, located at the Bell Centre. "With the people Ill be next to -- Jean Beliveau, Henri Richard, Guy Lafleur, Larry Robinson, Serge Savard -- I just cant stop thinking about it. I was happy with just looking up at those jerseys. I never thought, in all sincerity, that my number would be retired. It never crossed my mind." On Thursday, the Canadiens organization made official the decision to retire Lapointes No. 5, the first jersey to be honoured since 2009 when Elmer Lach and Emile (Butch) Bouchard received whats considered one of the most prestigious honours in sports. Lapointe, 66, will finally be reunited with his Big Three teammates -- Savard and Robinson -- in the Bell Centre rafters. Savards No. 18 was retired in 2006, and Robinsons No. 19 joined the following year. Known as much for their staunch defending and offensive prowess, the Big Three were instrumental in Montreals six Stanley Cup victories in the 1970s. And the three defencemen were on hand at the Bell Centre on Thursday to celebrate Lapointes big day. "Im happy to see you both here," the Montreal native Lapointe told his former teammates before pointing to the rafters. "But Ill be even happier to see you up there when my jersey is going to be retired." Between 1968 and 1984, Lapointe played 16 seasons in the NHL -- 12 of them with the Canadiens before brief stints with the St. Louis Blues and Boston Bruins. Always a threat on the power play, Lapointe was known for his explosive speed, his inspired bouts of offence, and his rocket of a slapshot. He recorded 622 points in 894 career games, and ranks second in goals by a Canadiens defenceman with 166. Nicknamed Pointu, Lapointe had three consecutive 20-goal seasons, and still holds the Canadiens record for most goals in a year by a defenceman with 28. In his first complete season with the Habs in 1970-71, Lapointes 15 goals set a franchise record for a rookie defenceman. The record still stands today. "A lot of minutes in a lot of situations -- thats the way he was," said Robinson of Lapointe, whom he compared to Montreals P.K. Subban. "Guy could hold his own against anybody. He could play in all situations, play a lot of minutes. Thats the reason hes in the Hall of Fame. "Its very fitting to have his sweater up there. Im glad I got mine up there first -- I finally beat him at something." Lapointe was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1993, two years before Robinson. He won six Stanley Cups -- all with the Canadiens -- including four consecutive championships between 1976 and 1979. "I grew up with this excellent organization," said Lapointe, who also pointed to the 1972 Summit Series in Moscow and 1976 Canada Cup -- both memorable victories for Canada -- as exceptional moments in his career. "The Canadiens helped me become a better hockey player and a better person. The team allowed me to reach goals I didnt even think were possible. "Winning was always our goal. That paid dividends throughout my career. I was a lucky person to make the team. I owe a lot to the Montreal Canadiens. Theyve been very good to me." Off the ice, Lapointe was known as a prankster, notorious for shaking hands with former Prime Minister Pierre Elliot Trudeau with a palm covered in Vaseline. After Lach and Bouchard had their jerseys retired in 2009 -- the ninth and 10th such commemorative event in the five years leading up to the Canadiens centennial anniversary -- the teams organization put the process on hold. Fans clamoured for Lapointe to join the Canadiens legends in the rafters, including the defencemans daughter Stephanie, who started a petition last year to have her fathers jersey retired. "Dreams really do come true!" Stephanie Lapointe tweeted on Wednesday when the news was announced. "Never give up! I am beyond proud of my dad! Finally he is being awarded this honour!" Molson says the Canadiens organizations focus over the last five years has been rebuilding the team on the ice. On Thursday, he said the time was finally right to give Lapointe his long-awaited recompense. "Its a name that kept resurfacing when we bought the team in 2009," said Molson of the final Big Three defenceman. "We were in the process of retiring a lot of jerseys at that time. "I feel good about the organization (now). I feel good about the development of our players, the general manager, and our support staff. Were well on our way to having a winning organization year after year. The fans have had a break from the centennial celebrations. And its a nice surprise for Lapointe." Notes: Lapointe is currently the Minnesota Wilds amateur scouting co-ordinator. a Robinson flew up from San Jose, Calif., on two days notice for the event. a Howie Morenzs No. 7 was the first jersey retired by the Canadiens, in 1937. a Lapointes is the second No. 5 to be retired by the Canadiens. He joins Bernie (Boom Boom) Geoffrion, whose jersey was raised to the rafters in 2006. Mike Green Red Wings Jersey . Ouellette, from Montreal, already has three Olympic gold medals since joining the team in 1999. Teemu Pulkkinen Jersey .5 million per season with defenceman Chris Phillips. Phillips deal reportedly includes a no-trade clause. If New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning wants to continue his hot stretch Sunday night, all he has to do is look for No. 26. That number would belong to Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Cary Williams. Williams and the Eagles secondary have been the subject of criticism all season for giving up long pass plays and touchdowns regularly. Everybody on the outside looking in has no clue as to what we do in this defense or whats necessary for us to accomplish our goals as a cornerback or whats our job on a particular play, Williams said. Even some commentators dont necessarily know what goes on because theyre not sitting in the meeting rooms with us. Its a false perception, I guess, to a degree. But I mean it just is what it is. Its a hard life for a cornerback. And I think weve got the guys in our room to get the job done. Now the NFC East-rival Giants come marching into Lincoln Financial Field for a primetime matchup and are riding high with three straight wins following an 0-2 start. The Giants have scored 30 or more points in each of the past three contests, averaging 35.0 ppg in that time, and Manning is at the forefront. Catch all the action on TSN1, TSN4, and TSN5 starting at 7pm et/4pm pt. Manning has been protecting the ball during the win streak, tossing eight touchdown passes to just one interception. He had four INTs and three TD passes in the winless start to the season. Manning said in training camp he wanted to complete 70 percent of his passes and so far under offensive coordinator Ben McAdoo his numbers are at 66.3. McAdoos offense is predicated on quick releases, shorter throws and timely reads, and Manning has paid attention to every detail. The 11 touchdown passes tie Mannings career high through the first five games and he should eclipse last seasons total of 18. Manning, who has posted three straight games with a rating above 100, helped lead the Giants to a 30-20 win over the Atlanta Falcons last weekend and connected with rookie Odell Beckham Jr. on a 15-yard scoring strike during 13-point fourth quarter. The Giants scored the last 20 points to erase a 10-point hole. The fourth quarter was ours, Giants head coach Tom Coughlin said. It was very good. Congratulate our team. We battled back and we won the fourth quarter and looked like the Giants in the second half and all three areas contributed very well. Beckham made his NFL debut and had missed the start of the season because of a hamstring injury suffered in training camp. He gives Manning another weapon on offense, joining wide receiver Victor Cruz and tight end Larry Donnell. Rookie running back Andre Williams will take over for Rashad Jennings, who is expected to miss a few weeks with a sprained MCL. Williams got the Giants rolling with a three-yard TD run versus Atlanta and finished with 65 yards. Williams is excited for his first NFL start. I am very excited, Williams said. It is going to be my first start. I just want to prepare as well as I can and make sure I am ready to compete at the highest level I can. Williams and Beckham were the first Giants rookies to score TDs by rushing and receiving, respectively, in the same game since George Adams and Mark Bavaro did it twice in 1985. New York is 3-2 and one game behind Philadelphia and Dallas for the division lead. The Cowboys have a tough one this week at Seattle and will host the Giants on Oct. 19. The Eagles will have their hands full defensively and are 24th against the rush (132.0), 25th in points allowed (26.4), 28th in yards allowed (406.2) and 29th in pass defense (274.2). Opponents havent had trouble moving the football against the Eagles. St. Louis had 466 yards in Sundays 34-28 loss and Rams rookie quarterback Austin Davis threw for 375 yards and three touchdowns. San Francisco racked up 407 yards the week before and got 119 yards on 24 carries from Frank Gore. Washington amassed 511 yards in Week 3 and both Pierre Garcon and DeSean Jackson reached the 100-yard receiving mark. Jacksonville and Indianapolis had more than 300 yards apiece against the Eagles over the first two weeks. Philadelphia may be just one of five teams allowing more than 400 yards, but its 4-1 record is tied for the best in the league. Tough 4-1, soft 4-1, it doesnt matter, Eagles head coach Chip Kelly remarked after beating the Rams. Youre 4-1. Its the same thing. You could be 1-4, 4-1, youve got to go back to work on Tuesday. The defensive line is playing a lot better under coordinator Bill Davis. His unit has recorded eight sacks in the past two games and must continue to pressure the quarterback. Linebacker Connor Barwin leads the Eagles with three sacks, while Trent Cole has 2 1/2 and Vinny Curry two. The defense could be without linebackers DeMeco Ryans (groin) and Mychal Kendricks (calf). Kendrricks hasnt played since a Monday night win over the Colts. Justin Abdelkader Jersey. Ryans, though, said he expects to play and it was precautionary missing Tuesdays training session as well as Wednesdays. Just precautionary, Ryans said. I just want to see how I feel. From Sunday to today I feel like Ive made some strides. Im feeling better. If it keeps going like its going, by the end of the week Im feeling good and hopefully I can go. Casey Matthews and Emmanuel Acho will see more action if both Ryans and Kendricks are sidelined. Ryans is confident Matthews can handle the Giants. Caseys stepped in and hes done a really good job, Ryans said. Hes progressed over the past few weeks, and last week he played his best game. The Giants are 82-74-2 in the regular season against the Eagles (2-2 playoffs) and have split the last four meetings between the teams. Including the playoffs, the Eagles have won eight of the previous 10 matchups. Coughlin is 11-11 (0-2 playoffs) in games versus the Eagles in the regular season. WHAT TO WATCH FOR Eagles quarterback Nick Foles is 7-0 with 13 touchdown passes and three interceptions in the past seven at home. He is trying to keep that streak going and also improve on his overall play Sunday night. Were continuing to progress, said Foles, who has thrown five INTs already after just two in 2013. Were in spurts, and we want to be more consistent as an offense. But I saw us moving in the right direction. We just have to come out here this week, make more corrections and continue to work on execution. Ive just missed a few throws. Ive missed five percent more throws, and thats something that you want to continue to get better at, continue to grow each week. You want to be more accurate each week and you want to be a better player each week, and thats what I strive to do each and every day is just grow. He has been sacked just once in the last four games after going down five times in Week 1 to the Jaguars. Foles has the weapons around him in Jeremy Maclin, Jordan Matthews, Darren Sproles and LeSean McCoy to name a few. McCoy was taken out of the game during the end of Sundays win because running backs coach Duce Staley wanted fresh legs. You cant blame Staley for doing whats best for the team. McCoy ran for a season-high 81 yards on 24 carries, but has only one TD run this season. He reached the end zone back in Week 2 at Indianapolis. McCoy liked what he saw from last week and got right tackle Lane Johnson back in the starting lineup. It felt good having Lane in there. Lane has always been the type of player who gets it done. He is fast, physical and very intelligent, McCoy said. So, I was happy to have him out there. He helped us out today. New Yorks defense is allowing 99.0 yards rushing this season (10th in NFL) and hopes to have former Eagle and starting cornerback Dominique Rodgers- Cromartie on the field. Rodgers-Cromartie is bothered by a list of injuries and said he practiced at full speed Wednesday. The Eagles have seven touchdowns on returns this season and look to make things happen again on special teams and defense. For how poorly the Eagles are on the statistics side, they are starting to aggravate in all three areas. I think the Philly game is going to be another great test for our team, Giants cornerback Prince Amukamara said. They are the defending (NFC East) champions and they have a great team on all three phases of the ball, so its going to be a challenge. Coughlin agreed with Amukamara when he said, Every game is the most important game of the season. This is a divisional game. Obviously, Philadelphia is playing very, very well. It is a game within the division for us, so we are just excited for that opportunity. The Giants lead the NFL with eight interceptions and will try to force Foles into making mistakes. Amukamara, Antrel Rolle and former Eagle Quintin Demps have two interceptions apiece. OVERALL ANALYSIS All good things come to an end, and so will Philadelphias regular season home winning streak. Manning and the Giants are playing great football lately and will go toe-to-toe with Kellys up-tempo offense. Nothing is better than beating your NFC East rival on the road and taking away the division lead in the process. Were just trying to make sure that we come out on top of our division this year, Rolle said. Last year is last year. ... I feel like this year its definitely up and rising. We didnt get a lot of credit in the preseason in our division, but I think now the tables are starting to turn a little bit. Dallas is playing good, Philly is playing good right now. I think were rising and were stepping up to the challenges and were playing some good football right now. A halftime show with local R&B group Boyz II Men wont help the Eagles. Cheap Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys China Cheap Jerseys From China Authentic China Jerseys Wholesale Jerseys China Cheap Jerseys Wholesale Jerseys Cheap Jerseys ' ' '

BOSTON – Less than 24 hours earlier, Cardinals ace right-hander Adam Wainwright stood before a media throng, took responsibility for his clubs poor performance in the World Series opener and then expressed confidence Michael Wacha would pick him up. Trent Williams Redskins Jersey . Wainwrights words seemed prophetic through five innings of Game 2, hit a glitch in the sixth, but then were repaired by an offensive outburst in the seventh keyed by a Red Sox defensive meltdown. The Cardinals pitched better, slightly, and played a better field than the Red Sox on Thursday. The result, a 4-2 win and a series even at a game apiece heading to the Gateway City. "The kid continues to impress," said Cardinals manager Mike Matheny of Wacha, his 22-year-old rookie starter. "I dont know what else you could ask. Put him on any stage and he does a real nice job of limiting distractions." Wacha improved to 4-0 in the postseason. He sports a dominant ERA of 1.00, having allowed only three earned runs in 27 innings of work. Where Wainwright felt he didnt set the proper tone on Wednesday, Wacha did on Thursday. He worked an efficient first inning, including a pair of strikeouts of Shane Victorino and Dustin Pedroia with nasty fastball-changeup combinations. "Nerves werent too bad," said Wacha, whod never pitched in Fenway Park. "Just kind of anxious to get out there. Its the World Series. Big-time game so I just tried to use it to my advantage to go out and pitch with some adrenaline and just try to block out the fans and the crowd." He didnt have his best stuff, but Wacha worked five scoreless innings. With St. Louis up 1-0 in the sixth, he issued a one out walk to Dustin Pedroia. David Ortiz followed and worked a full count before driving a changeup, often Wachas out pitch on this evening, over the Green Monster for a two-run home run. Boston led 2-1 and it felt as though Wachas strong start would go for naught. Not so fast. The Red Sox channeled the Cardinals from the night before and, in the seventh, handed St. Louis the split. With one out, John Lackey, who had another strong playoff start for the Red Sox, walked David Freese. Jon Jay followed with a single to end Lackeys night. Left-hander Craig Breslow took over. Pete Kozma, who entered as a pinch runner for Freese, and Jay executed a double steal. Breslow then walked Daniel Descalso, loading the bases for Matt Carpenter. The Red Soxs night fell apart. Carpenter lifted a fly ball to left field. Kozma tagged. The throw from left fielder Jonny Gomes skipped past catcher Jarrod Saltalamacchia. Kozma scored. Breslow, backing up the play, attempted to throw out Jay trying for third but he hurled the ball into the seats. Jay scored the Cardinals go ahead run. They wouldnt look back. "Im sure Craig would like to have that ball back and hold it with a chance to shut down the inning right there," said Red Sox manager John Farrell. "We give them the run ... Uncharacteristic of the way I think weve taken care of the baseball this year and it contributed to three runs." Carlos Beltran, who injured his ribs slamming into the wall to rob Ortiz of a grand slam on Wednesday night, deemed himself able to play about three hours before game time. He had two singles, including a hit in the eighth which provided St. Louis the insurance run. Positive signs all around for Matheny. "Very encouraged," said Matheny of Beltran, who received an injection of the painkiller Toradol before the game. "We were all kind of sitting around waiting to see how things would turn out today. We didnt know how he was going to feel but obviously he feels pretty good. He was moving well, too." Buoyed by the performance of a young starter, Wacha, who outdueled the veteran Lackey, the Cardinals hope for the same on Saturday. Back in St. Louis, 25-year-old Joe Kelly will pitch for the Cardinals against Bostons veteran 32-year-old Jake Peavy. Two games in and a split as the scene shifts, the stakes only get higher from here. Sean Taylor Redskins Jersey . Catch this game live on Sunday Night Baseball on TSN2 at 8pm et/5pm pt. The Angels dropped the opener of this series, 4-3, then rebounded with Saturdays 11-6 win in 13 innings to even the set. They scored five runs in the top of the 13th inning, as Mike Trout delivered a two-run double and Albert Pujols drove in two with a base hit. Kole Calhoun opened the scoring in the decisive frame with an RBI hit. Angels relief pitcher Cory Rasmus set the Braves down in order in the bottom of the 13th to preserve the win. Trout and Pujols both had big games and each ended with three hits, a home run and four RBI. Erick Aybar had four hits, two runs scored and knocked in a run for the Angels, who ended a two-game slide and won for the sixth time in eight tries. Garrett Richards started on the mound for Anaheim and struck out 10 batters across six shutout innings. After a shaky performance early on from the bullpen, Fernando Salas threw two scoreless innings of relief for the win. "We never quit, they never quit," said Trout. "Youve got to give them props. They scored four runs and put pressure on us. We kept battling, put ourselves in a good position and we won the game." Trout extended his hitting streak to nine games and 16 straight interleague contests. Angels manager Mike Scioscia was not with the team after attending the funeral of his former Dodger teammate and 1990 Cy Young winner Bob Welch. Bench coach Dino Ebel took his place. The Angels are 3 1/2 games behind Oakland for the AL West lead and will visit Cleveland next for four games. Hector Santiago gets the starting nod for the Angels Sunday and he is winless (0-6) in 10 games (8 starts) with a 4.15 EERA. John Riggins Jersey. Santiago pitched six shutout innings for a no-decision in a 2-1 win over Oakland on Tuesday and recorded eight strikeouts with one walk. Santiago, a left-hander, has never faced Atlanta and is 0-3 on the road. Atlanta has been inconsistent of late with defeats in seven of the last 11 games. David Hale was saddled with the loss for allowing five runs in 2 1/3 innings of relief and starting pitcher Gavin Floyd gave up four runs in the first 6 1/3 innings. The Braves were able to rally from a 5-0 hole and used a four-run bottom of the ninth inning to tie the game. Jason Heyward drove in a run, B.J. Upton plated two with a triple and Freddie Freeman stroked an RBI ground-rule double to the even the score. Josh Hamilton put the Angels back on top with a run- scoring hit in the 10th and Atlanta knotted the game at 6-6 on another RBI hit from Heyward, who showed no signs of a hand contusion suffered on Friday. Anaheim then exploded for five runs in the 13th. "We had our chances to get the win," said Braves catcher Gerald Laird. "It was an excellent effort coming back in the ninth inning. We battled tonight. Evan Gattis had three hits, including another home run, for the Braves, who are still tied with Washington atop the NL East standings. Gattis has homered in two straight games and has gone deep seven times since May 25. He is riding a career-best 14-game hitting streak. Atlanta will host Philadelphia next for three games. Set to take the mound for the Braves in Sundays rubber match will be Mike Minor, who is 2-4 with a 4.31 earned run average. Minor is winless (0-2) in his past four outings and was hammered at Colorado the last time out on Tuesday to the tune of eight runs and 11 hits in four innings. The left-handed Minor has never faced the Angels and is 1-4 in five starts at Turner Field. Cheap Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys China Cheap Jerseys From China Authentic China Jerseys Wholesale Jerseys China Cheap Jerseys Wholesale Jerseys Cheap Jerseys ' ' '

saves from Reto Berra in a losing cause.

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates -- The hope of an all-Williams final at the Dubai Championships ended on the racket of Frenchwoman Alize Cornet on Friday. Cheap Jerseys Wholesale . Williams fought off four match points on her own serve in the ninth game, but Cornet served out the match at love. Wholesale NFL Jerseys .Y. -- When the New York Islanders lead was cut in half in the opening minute of the third period, the sense of impending doom began wafting through Nassau Coliseum. Wholesale Jerseys free shipping .com) - The Pittsburgh Penguins placed forward James Neal on injured reserve Tuesday. Two struggling teams meet up in Calgary tonight when the Flames host the Carolina Hurricanes at the Scotiabank Saddledome. Calgary enters Thursday having lost two of three and the Flames were stung by the former face of their franchise in Tuesdays 2-1 loss against Jarome Iginla and the Boston Bruins. Iginlas return to Calgary was a triumphant one, as the Bruins overcame a 1-0 deficit with a pair of late goals to down the Flames. Reilly Smith potted the game-winner for Boston with 4:33 left to play, a mere 98 seconds after David Krejci recorded the equalizer with the Bruins on the power play. Iginla, the Flames all-time leader in goals (525), points (1,095) and games played (1,219), faced the club he spent 16 highly productive seasons with for the first time since Calgary traded its longtime captain to Pittsburgh during last Aprils trade deadline. The revered 36-year-old received a warm and rousing ovation from the home crowd during introductions. "It brought back a lot of great memories," Iginla said of his return. Jiri Hudler had the lone goal for Calgary, which received 22 saves from Reto Berra in a losing cause. "I think the best way to describe this is a lack of maturity," Flames head coach Bob Hartley said of his team allowing Boston to get back in the game in the third. It was the third loss in Calgarys last four home games, dropping the club to 5-7-3 at the Saddledome this season. This evenings game marks the first meeting between the Canes and Flames since Calgary posted a 7-6 home win on Dec. 6, 2011. Igginla scored twice for the Flames in that win. cheap jerseys usa. Calgary has taken five of seven from Carolina overall and the Hurricanes have dropped four straight and five of six at the Saddledome. Carolinas last win in Calgary came on Dec. 12, 2002. After consecutive losses to begin a four-game road trip, the Hurricanes hope to pick up a win in Calgary. The Hurricanes carried a three-game winning streak into this current trek, but lost 2-0 at Vancouver on Monday before dropping a 5-4 overtime decision the following night in Edmonton. However, Carolina did do a good job to even earn a point in Tuesdays setback, as they fell behind 4-1 to the Oilers before mounting a comeback. The Staal brothers -- Jordan and Eric -- each scored a goal to cut the deficit to 4-3 and Jeff Skinner tied it late in the third for Carolina. Eric Staals short-handed tally came 7:47 into the third period and Skinners tying marker was at the 14:46 mark. However, Jordan Eberle notched a power- play goal at 1:48 of OT to deliver the 5-4 victory for the hometown Oilers. "We showed some good jump battling back into the game," said Eric Staal. "Unfortunately, we had to kill a lot of penalties." In addition to goals from the Staals and Skinner, Carolina also received a tally from Tuomo Ruutu. Cam Ward took the loss after yielding all five goals on 29 shots. The loss dropped Carolina to 6-7-2 as the visiting team this season. The Canes will complete the swing Saturday in Phoenix before playing three of their next four in Raleigh. Cheap Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys China Cheap Jerseys From China Authentic China Jerseys Wholesale Jerseys China Cheap Jerseys Wholesale Jerseys ' ' '

I dont know exactly what it was,

NEW YORK -- Less than 12 hours after winning the Super Bowl, Seattle Seahawks coach Pete Carroll already was talking about getting started on next season.http://www.italiacalciostore.it/maglia-antonio-candreva.html . "The first meeting that well have will be tomorrow. ... Our guys would be surprised if we didnt," Carroll said Monday morning. "We really have an eye on whats coming, and we dont dwell on what just happened. Well take this in stride." He appeared at a news conference at a Manhattan hotel with linebacker Malcolm Smith, the MVP of Seattles 43-8 victory over Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos on Sunday night. Carroll oversees a team with the fourth-youngest roster for a Super Bowl champion, with an average age of 26 years, 175 days, according to STATS. The youngest champs ever were the Pittsburgh Steelers who won the 1975 Super Bowl, and they collected a second consecutive title the next year. Seattle quarterback Russell Wilson just wrapped up his second season in the league, as did Jermaine Kearse, the receiver who caught one of the QBs two touchdown passes Sunday night. Doug Baldwin, who caught the other, is only three years into his pro career, as are star cornerback Richard Sherman and Smith, who at 24 is the fourth-youngest player to be the Super Bowl MVP. "Weve seen the effort that it takes to get to this point, and, obviously, well try to replicate that and do it again," Smith said. "Were looking forward to the next challenges and guys having a target on their back and people trying to come after us." Smith became the third linebacker to earn Super Bowl MVP honours, thanks to a 69-yard touchdown return off an interception of regular-season MVP Manning in the first half and a fumble recovery in the second half. He said that during the game, some of his teammates were telling him, "You might be the MVP." "And I was like, No way. No way. Not me." Carroll said general manager John Schneider has positioned the Seahawks to be able to avoid the problems that can make it hard to repeat as NFL champions. Since Denver repeated in the 1999 game, only one team has won two Super Bowls in a row, the New England Patriots in 2004-05. Theres the need to replace players who leave via free agency. The need to pay other players with new, better-paying contracts. "John Schneider has done an extraordinary job of structuring this roster contractually, and with the vision of looking ahead, so that we can keep our guys together," Carroll said. "One of the things that happens every so often is teams have a big fallout after they win the Super Bowl. Were not in that situation." Carroll was reminded during Sundays game of some of his blowout victories in college football bowl games when he was a championship-winning coach at Southern California. "It felt like it. It looked like it. The score was like it," he said Monday. "I really cant tell you exactly what it is, but somethings going on, because I sat back there at the end of the first quarter and said, Shoot, here it goes," he said. "Bang, bang, bang, bang, and its 22-0 at halftime." Carroll described the lopsided nature of the game as "kind of like an avalanche," an interesting choice of words given the hubbub last week -- and, really, for months before that -- over whether the first outdoor Super Bowl at a cold-weather site would be affected by snow. Instead, the weather wasnt a factor Sunday at the stadium in East Rutherford, N.J., where the temperature was 49 degrees at kickoff and only some light rain fell. On Monday morning, meanwhile, driving snow hit the area and forecasts called for up to 8 inches. "I dont know how (NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell) pulled it off, but he pulled off the weather in perfect fashion," Carroll joked. "The NFL is powerful." http://www.italiacalciostore.it/maglia-stefano-okaka.html . The day after the Raptors were mocked for the debacle, a Raptors official confirmed that an ESPN technician plugged into the same power source for the shot clocks, frying the power system.http://www.italiacalciostore.it/puma-italia-gianluigi-buffon-maglia-europei-uomo-1-replica-bianca-seconda-poco-maglietta-2016-uefa-calcio-campionato.html .Taylor overcame a four-shot deficit Sunday to capture his maiden PGA Tour victory in just his 13th start on golfs top circuit. He shot 6-under-par 66 in his fianl round — despite a three-putt bogey on the 72nd hole — for a two-shot victory over Americans Boo Weekley and Jason Bohn.GLENDALE, Ariz. -- Los Angeles Dodgers right-hander Zack Greinke left his start against the Arizona Diamondbacks on Thursday after throwing just four pitches because of a mild right calf strain. "I think its minor, but well see," Greinke said. "I dont know exactly what it was, but it felt kind of like a cramp." Grienke was making his first spring start after saying he had "zero interest" making the trip for the Dodgers two regular-season games in Sydney, Australia, March 22-23 against Arizona. But now Geinke says hed like to start a game Sydney Cricket Ground. "If were going to be there, which obviously we are, then, yes, Id like to pitch over there," he said. "Im looking forward to flying over there. "No one wants me to say it this way, but in my vote, if we could go over there, my vote was not to," he said. "But more people wanted to go than not. So, now that we are going, I want to be there. I dont want to not go and have the rest of the team go and have to play and me sit here watching. I also dont want to go over there and watch. I want to go over there and play, since thats what weree doing. Nuova Maglia Italia Calcio. " His initial comments, he said, were based on concerns that the trip would alter his spring training. "Its just the routine thing," he said. "I want to pitch good. I want to win games. When youre forced to do something youre not used to doing, its harder to be able to do it at the best of your abilities. Its still possible, but it makes it harder. "Ive never been real big on what peoples perceptions are of me," Grienke added. "The only goal is to try to win as many games as possible." Greinke left the mound after throwing two pitches to the Diamondbacks second hitter, Cliff Pennington. He retired Tony Campana on two pitches. Following the second pitch to Pennington, Dodgers manager Don Mattingly and Stan Conte, chief of the clubs medical staff, rushed to the mound. Greinke threw a couple of warmup pitches and then headed for the clubhouse. "I just was walking around the mound a little bit," Greinke said. "I didnt think I was going to need to come out this time, but after talking to them, thats what they decided. Id like to see how it feels later." Cheap Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys China Cheap Jerseys From China Authentic China JerseysWholesale Jerseys China Cheap Jerseys Wholesale Jerseys ' ' '
