CHARLOTTE, N. Wholesale Jerseys NFL .C. -- Panthers wide receiver Steve Smith is still upset with the officiating in Carolinas 22-6 loss to the Arizona Cardinals, calling a member of Sundays crew "garbage." The 34-year-old Smith took aim Monday at umpire Dan Ferrell, saying Ferrell was "the sorriest referee Ive ever met." Smith added that Ferrell "received a check that day and I hope he feels good, because he was terrible." Smith acknowledged his comments would likely draw a fine from NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, but added that he doesnt care. Smith said, "To be honest, I make enough money where if Roger were to fine me, he can." Ferrell is a veteran official. He has been refereeing NFL games since 2003 and Sunday was the 156th career game hes officiated, according to Pro Football Reference. Smith wasnt thinking about Ferrells credentials on Monday. The receiver was upset over several calls, including one where he was flagged for offensive pass interference and another where he felt Arizona cornerback Patrick Peterson grabbed the back of his jersey on a route and used that momentum to "slingshot" past him to break up a pass. Smith said Ferrell explained to him it wasnt enough to warrant a pass interference penalty. "It was pass interference in Mexico, Europe, rugby -- in pretty much every other sport but in Arizona" on Sunday, Smith said. "But then when I pushed off it was pass interference." Smith also pointed to a play where he dove with the ball outstretched beyond the first down marker but was ruled down before the yardstick. Panthers coach Ron Rivera challenged the play and officials overruled the call and granted Carolina a first down. It was an aggravating day all around for Smith. He dropped two passes from Cam Newton, including one in the end zone that should have been a touchdown. He was limited to 60 yards on four catches. Despite his comments about the officiating, Smith took blame for the loss, saying, "I wasnt focused in." Wholesale Jerseys China . Eric Gelinas scored on a power play 1:15 into overtime, after the Devils squandered the lead in the final seconds of regulation, to lift New Jersey to a 4-3 win Saturday night. Wholesale Jerseys Cheap . Stephens, who beat Serena Williams en route to the 2013 Australian Open semifinals, won nine of the last 10 games in a 6-3, 6-1 victory over Anabel Medina Garrigues in the womens singles before Isner beat Daniel Munoz-de La Nava 6-3, 6-4.It was supposed to be a dream come true. A marriage made in soccer heaven. The hometown star returning back to his roots to help guide his new team to a level of success he had reached many times. Sure, there were some good moments. The all-star appearances, the first goal at BMO Field when he headed the ball into the net against Dallas, but for Dwayne De Rosario it wasnt enough. This was not how he had imagined it going. On the field, De Rosario was able to forget the issues, play a game he loved in front of fans he adored. Sometimes the result would even go the teams way, but often it wouldnt and after the match, as he made the walk from the dressing room to his car, his mind would be cloudy and full of distractions about how the club was run. "Id definitely sit in my car and shake my head," he admitted in a sitdown with TSN.ca. "I know it was my hometown but I never wanted them to take that for granted and use that as leverage against me. I wasnt willing to stand for anything, its who I am, I am very passionate and hungry for success." As he started his third season with Toronto FC in 2011, it became very clear the two were heading in different directions. De Rosario had hoped to be loaned to Celtic during the offseason but didnt get his wish and three months later he was packing his bags from Toronto for, what appeared, good. It wasnt an April Fools joke, but on April 1, 2011, De Rosario was dealt to New York Red Bulls for what can now be labeled nothing more than a bag of balls. On a flight later that day, De Rosario thought he would never play for Toronto FC ever again but admitted he hoped to one day return when the direction of the club was different. "I never closed the door and turned my back on that option. How it was presented to me this time was a situation I couldnt refuse, I always wanted to create special moments and have special memories with my hometown, Toronto FC, and I am looking to live those moments I envisioned and hopefully we can create those this season." It is clear the Canadian international spent many hours dreaming of playing for his hometown club before it happened and it is also clear that a lot of those dreams didnt come true the first time around. "I demand success, first and foremost from myself, but from my teammates and from the organization and to have a situation where we now have it demanded from the top is absolutely ideal. Its the right way and I am happy to be a part of that." When Toronto FC kick off the new season in Seattle on Saturday afternoon, much of the attention will, rightfully so, be placed on star signings Jermain Defoe, Michael Bradley and Julio Cesar. The club has completely reinvented itself this winter and the return of De Rosario is almost an after-thought, a small scene in a blockbuster movie. With De Rosario now 35 that is, probably, the right thing for a team who want to contend for the MLS Cup this season, but the 2011 league MVP believes he can still play a major part on and off the pitch. He said: "I am really looking forward to this year. Jermain Defoe is a world class player, a winner, throughout the season it will be great to pick his brain and see how he runs and moves and create that relationship. Gilberto has a very bright future and so far I have enjoyed playing together with him. Anytime you have an opportunity to play alongside players of that calibre it is always fun, the most important thing is developing the understanding. So far its comee along and we are excited to get it started. Wholesale Jerseys. " De Rosario has been in MLS long enough to know that tough times will still come Torontos way this season, even if they are successful. He admits expectations are high but thinks the team is ready to drag themselves through the rough patches because of the personnel general manager Tim Bezbatchenko has assembled. "Thankfully when we look at every position we have strong leaders. Julio Cesar to Steven Caldwell in central defence, Michael Bradley in the midfield and myself, Defoe up top, all strong personalities with experience, its important. All of these guys know its a long season, they understand we havent done anything yet, on paper it looks good but we have to continue to show that on a day-to-day basis and we have to work hard to accomplish something." De Rosarios second stint in Toronto gives the club a player whose best days are clearly behind him but he still thinks his versatility can help head coach Ryan Nelsen in many areas throughout 2014. "I dont have a specific favourite position. I like creating and scoring goals, up top, on the left, attacking mid, all these provide those opportunities for me but it depends on the team and its shape. Sometimes I am on the left and I dont really like it because I dont feel I get as much ball as I would like, sometimes I am in the midfield and you just defend a lot so that can be frustrating but sometimes, even, up top you can not get the balls, so it depends on the situation and the team." Throughout his career, he admits he is constantly learning and developing more and more on the tactical side of the game: "Spatial awareness is a big part of my game, knowing when to leave it and attack it and I have been working with a lot of the forwards here about that as well. You want to continuously move but sometimes you need to stop and let the space develop and attack it at the right moments." De Rosario will be hoping to find some of the space in behind Brad Evans and Osvaldo Alonso against the Sounders on Saturday. (You can read my piece on Toronto FCs strategy against Seattle here)  March 15 has been circled on the calendar for many Toronto FC fans because it is their first game but De Rosario cannot wait for the following week when he will get to pull on the red number 14 shirt in front of the home fans. "Those fans are my family, the relationship with them means everything to me. Every time I step out for training or in a game with that badge it is for them. I do not just represent myself, I represent my direct family and the fans and I take a lot of pride in that. One day I want the youngsters to look at me and say I want to be like him, and because of that, I want to set as good an example as possible." On paper, the words look cliché but you dont have to be around De Rosario for long to know just how much he truly means it and how much he loves his city and his club. Toronto FC have lacked a lot of things in their short history. Above all else they have lacked wins, but in recent years there has been a distinct lack of people caring about this club. Whether the signing of De Rosario the player turns out to be a success only time will tell, but to have a winner talk so passionately about this club is already a positive step before a ball has even been kicked. Join Luke Wileman, Jason DeVos and myself in Seattle for Toronto FCs first game of the season live on TSN at 4:30pm et/1:30pm pt. Cheap NFL Jerseys China Cheap Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys Cheap Jerseys China Cheap MLS Soccer Jerseys ' ' '

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. 2015 Mens Nike Roshe Run Lavender Blue Orange Green Running Shoes . -- DeMarcus Ware boarded the plane for Denver on Wednesday morning, looked in the row across from him and saw a sleeping Aqib Talib. Yep, the Broncos mean business. Before Ware even had a chance to sit down with Broncos boss John Elway, he saw exactly how serious the team was about fixing its defence. Ware became Denvers latest defensive addition in free agency, agreeing to a three-year, $30 million deal. Thats $110 million -- $60 million guaranteed -- for Ware, safety T.J. Ward and Talib, the last two of whom signed Tuesday. "Theyre trying to make a statement -- a statement were a team to be reckoned with," the 31-year-old Ware said. "Their mentality is a now mentality. Not looking forward to next season or the season after that, the time is now." Out of work less than 24 hours, Ware wasnt fully intending to agree to a deal right away with Denver when he flew into town. But he was persuaded by Elway, the Hall of Fame quarterback turned executive who stressed to Ware the Broncos commitment to defence even with a prolific offence led by Peyton Manning. Elway got his man -- again. He did so two years ago with Manning and last off-season with Wes Welker. Its really no surprise the Broncos are concentrating on defence in the wake of a 43-8 loss to Seattle in the Super Bowl last month. Ward thinks the trio of new players brings not only leadership but a level of physicality to the field. Denvers defence surrendered nearly 25 points a game last season, which was 22nd in the league. "I think you see with Seattles defence last year -- definitely defence wins championships," Ward said. "(Ware and Talib) are two great players. Im eager to get to work with them. I dont know them personally yet, but I know what they do on the field. Those are two players I admire. I think well work well together." Talib flew in from Dallas on the same flight as Ware, not even realizing it until halfway through the trip. He was ecstatic to later hear that Elway enticed Ware to join the Broncos. "Every year you just want to better your team," Talib said. "Mr. Elway decided to better his team on defence this year, since the offence looks pretty good." Ware was let go Tuesday by Dallas in a salary-cap move. He had a franchise-record 117 sacks for the Cowboys since being drafted in the first round in 2005. He had a career-low six sacks last season and missed games for the first time in his career because of a thigh injury. He underwent off-season surgery to fix his elbow. Now that Wares fully healthy again, hes "going to be able to get after the passer," Elway said. No doubt, especially playing opposite Von Miller. This was a rough season for Miller, beginning with a six-game drug suspension and ending with a torn ACL on Dec. 22. Ware said he has a good relationship with Miller and hopes to get the 2011 rookie of the year back on track by serving as a mentor. "Von is one of those incredible athletes," Ware said. "If you can really hone in on what you do best, and make yourself not think as much when youre out there, hell be an even better athlete." Talib said theres no bad blood between him and the Broncos after he tweaked his knee early in the AFC championship game against Denver when he was bumped by Welker on a crossing route. Maybe at first, but not anymore. Not after watching the replay "1,000 times." "Wes is a good friend of mine," Talib said. "I can tell you he didnt do it on purpose." Talib appreciated Patriots coach Bill Belichick sticking up for him after the game. Belichick called it "one of the worst plays" hed seen in nearly four decades of coaching. The leagues officiating chief later ruled it a legal hit by Welker. "I told (Belichick) thank you and I respected what he did," Talib said. As for Talibs balky hip, well, thats not an issue. Hasnt been since his days with Tampa Bay. "The Patriots have their way of reporting stuff," Talib said. "The injury I had was actually a quad injury, reported as a hip injury. Thats how they do things." Talib said he received some interest from Washington, New Orleans, San Francisco and, of course, New England, but liked the fit with the Broncos. "I think we all are guys who play with attitude on the field," Talib said. Ware couldnt agree more, especially with the Super Bowl loss being a motivator. "Theyre saying, Were going to act right now and not let that happen again," Ware said. nike roshe run nz . Shes fine with that. LOS ANGELES -- The Pittsburgh Pirates had a long plane ride to digest their dreadful series at the New York Mets, and the exploits of batterymates Gerrit Cole and Russell Martin made for a pleasant series opener against the Los Angeles Dodgers. Cheap NFL Jerseys . Martin and Pedro Alvarez homered, Josh Harrisons second RBI single triggered a three-run seventh inning, and the Pirates beat Los Angeles 6-3 on Thursday night for only their third victory in their last 20 games at Dodger Stadium. "I think its just staying in the moment and not carrying any excess baggage," manager Clint Hurdle said. "It was a 5-hour, 40 minute flight, and were here in L.A. So Its time to get something done. Cole gave us the big start with his energy. He had a great pace and rhythm tonight, and the best speed variance hes had in quite some time. His fastball, changeup and curveball played extremely well for him, and everybody fed off of it." Cole (5-3) allowed three runs and six hits over 6 1-3 innings in his first career appearance at Chavez Ravine. The former UCLA right-hander helped set up two runs with sacrifice bunts in the opener of a four-game series against the defending NL West champions. "The key was making quality pitches early," Cole said. "Some at-bats they were patient and some they were really aggressive. But we just stuck with our approach and just made quality pitches. I thought we played Pirates baseball to a T. We passed the baton at the plate, swarmed them on defence, threw a lot of strikes and took some punches." Cole was lifted after walking pinch-hitter Chone Figgins with his 88th pitch, but Tony Watson retired speedster Dee Gordon on a double-play grounder with his first delivery. "Cole was outstanding. He was very aggressive, had all his pitches working," Martin said. "The pitch that really helped him was the changeup. He even threw them righty-on-righty. So to have a pitch that has the same spin as a fastball, I think, made the hitters uncomfortable. Hes got that mentality to just go out there and compete and execute pitches." Mark Melancon worked a perfect eighth and Jason Grilli got three outs for his sixth save. Grilli officially got his closer role back on Thursday, seven days after coming off the disabled list and six days after getting a save in his first game back. Melancon converted 10 of 12 save opportunities while Grilli was sidelined 4 1-2 weeks with a left oblique strain. Starling Marte drew a leadoff walk in the seventh from Brandon League (1-2) and appeared to have stolen second -- at least to umpire Eric Cooper, who called him safe. Dodgers manager Don Mattingly challenged the ruling, which was overturned by a video review. But Clint Barmes followed with his third straight single, advanced on Coles bunt and scored on Harrisons single up the middle. Harrison continued to second on the throw to the plate and came home on Neil Walkers single. Former Pirates starter Paul Maholm replaced League and gave up an RBI double to pinch-hitter Gabby Sanchez on his second pitch. The three runs charged to League ended a stretch of 16 appearances and 22 innings in which the right-hander did not allow an earned run. "I know its been a while since anything like this has happened," League said. "Its not discouraging. It just stinks having your name next to the L. As a reliever, you go day to day and youre taught to forget quickly. Its nice to know your manager keeps running you out there regardless of the results, but in the end, youve still got to get the job done." Dodgers starter Don Haren allowed three runs and eight hits in six innings with two strikeouts and no walks. Martin, who spent his first five big league seasons with the Dodgers and left as a free agent after the 2010 campaign to sign with the Yankees, hit his third homer of the season halfway up the left field pavilion with two outs in the sixth to give the Pirates a 3-2 lead. It also ended a string of nine consecutive games at Dodger Stadium in which Pittsburgh scored no more than two runs. Yasiel Puig, who reached base safely for the 30th consecutive game, led off the bottom of the sixth with his second double of the game and scored on a single by Hanley Ramirez. Andre Ethier lined an 0-1 pitch inside first base with one out in the first for his second triple in seven at-bats, after getting only four in his previous 2,180 at-bats since the start of the 2010 season. Puig drove him in with a bloop double to right field. Alvarez tied it in the second with a two-out drive to right field for his 10th homer, tying Walker for the team lead. Gordon regained the lead for the Dodgers in the bottom half with a two-out RBI single, but Harrison got the Pirates even again in the fifth with a two-out RBI single. NOTES: LHP Chad Billingsley, who hasnt pitched for the Dodgers since April 15, 2013, and is recovering from Tommy John surgery, threw 30 pitches in a two-inning simulated game. ... In his four starts with Tim Federowicz behind the plate, Haren has a 3.04 ERA and has given up 28 hits in 23 2-3 innings. ... Mattingly said that it would be "overly hopeful" to expect 3B Juan Uribe (right hamstring strain) to be reinstated from the 15-day DL when he is eligible to come off on June 5. ... Gordon stole second and third in the second inning, increasing his major league-leading total to 32. ... Coles only other outing against the Dodgers was June 16, 2013, when he won a 6-3 decision over Zack Greinke. Cheap Jerseys . -- The Eagles agreed to contract terms Tuesday with veteran running back Ronnie Brown, who spent his first six seasons with the Dolphins. Cheap Jerseys China . A 29-year-old left-hander, Lannan is expected to compete for the fifth starters job at spring training. He was 3-6 with a 5.33 ERA last year in 14 starts for Philadelphia.ST. PAUL, Minn. -- The New York Rangers had just about everything go right. Their primary Eastern Conference competitor actually lost a game, and their opponent on the ice gave them an easy path to the go-ahead goal. The Rangers, naturally, were more concerned about their own performance. Ruslan Fedotenko scored with 6:23 left to lead the Rangers past the Minnesota Wild 3-2 on Tuesday to create some more space in the tightened playoff race. Marian Gaborik also scored, frustrating the fans of his former team, and Brian Boyle had a goal for the Rangers, who won for the third time in their last nine road games. Theyre now 6-6 in their last 12 games. "We were more concerned with our second period than where we stood," Boyle said, adding: "Two points is big for us. But we want to be better." Kyle Brodziak and Mikko Koivu scored power-play goals for the Wild, but Rangers goalie Henrik Lundqvist was otherwise his normally stellar self. He said he doesnt care about the standings for the moment. "Its in our hands still. So as long as we focus on our job and do the right things, then well be fine," Lundqvist said. With an assist from their metropolitan-area rivals, the last-place New York Islanders, who beat Pittsburgh 5-3 earlier in the evening, the Rangers were able to stretch their lead in the Atlantic Division and Eastern Conference to three points over the Penguins, 103-100. The Penguins had gone 14-1-1 in their previous 16 games. The Rangers visit Pittsburgh on April 5, the second-to-last game before the playoffs, but the Penguins have five of their last six games against teams currently in the top eight in either conference and the Rangers have only three of their final six against foes currently above the playoff cut. Fedotenko found Wild defenceman Nate Prosser in an awkward position in front of the net and scored without problem on a pass from Ryan McDonagh that glanced off Wild defenceman Marco Scandella. "I just tried to throw it in front," said McDonagh, who had two assists. "I think it hit their guys stuck to end up on Feds, but you know: Its something thats in our structure." Thatt defensive lapse was not in the Wilds structure, and coach Mike Yeo was angry about it. Cheap Jerseys From China. "Im not in a very good mood right now because we do a lot of good things and we just give them a freebie," Yeo said, adding: "Thats what maddening. We had a lot of really good efforts and we did a lot of really good things tonight." Said Scandella: "Its a bad bounce, but weve just got to bounce back from this." The already-depleted Wild took whats probably their final blow of the season when centre Matt Cullen -- fourth on the team with 35 points -- had surgery to repair a broken finger he sustained blocking a shot in Saturdays game at Buffalo. But the Wild turned in one of their best performances in months against a Rangers team that couldve used a pushover. "Theyre pros. Why would you give up?" Boyle said. Devin Setoguchi had the first assist on Koivus goal, making this the first time all season Heatley and Setoguchi were credited for setting up a score by Koivu. After acquiring Heatley and Setoguchi in separate summer trades with San Jose, the Wild believed they had a first-rate first line. But Heatley has been hot and cold, Setoguchi has also been a nonfactor at times and Koivu has missed a total of 24 games because of a shoulder problem. "Its just the little mental lapses weve got to get rid of," Brodziak said, adding: "We have a jersey to represent, and we have fans that come out and support us and theres a lot of reasons to keep playing and keep working as hard as we can." NOTES: This was his Koivus goal since Feb. 16 and his second score since the initial injury occurred on Jan. 14. ... Gaborik moved within two goals of his third career 40-goal season. ... McDonagh is from St. Paul and won a Minnesota state tournament on this ice in 2006 with Cretin-Derham High School. He said he had about 80 friends and family members in attendance. ... Gaborik now has a goal against all 30 teams. This was his first against the Wild, who made him the franchises first draft pick in 2000. ... The Wilds power play -- 26th in the NHL entering the game -- has produced five goals in their last 13 opportunities. Cheap Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys China Wholesale Jerseys Wholesale NFL Jerseys Wholesale Jerseys ' ' '

(Sports Network) - The mighty Pittsburgh Penguins secured the Easts top playoff seed in their last trip to the ice and theyll aim for a seventh straight win when they visit the Ottawa Senators on Monday. Rob Ninkovich Patriots Jersey . Pittsburgh notched a 3-2 win Saturday in Boston to lock up the No. 1 spot in the conference playoffs. All Pittsburgh has left to play for in the regular season is the best record in the NHL, which currently belongs to the Chicago Blackhawks. Chicago is five points ahead of the Pens for the Presidents Trophy with four games left to play for both teams. Pittsburgh would be eliminated from the race if it loses Monday in regulation and the Blackhawks win their game in Vancouver. Ottawa, meanwhile, is still battling for a playoff spot and enters Monday tied with the New York Rangers for the seventh spot in the East with 52 points each. The Senators also are just three points ahead of ninth-place Winnipeg, which plays Monday in Buffalo. The Sens hold a game in hand over both the Jets and Rangers, who are idle on Monday. Ottawa is 0-1-1 against the Penguins this season, as it dropped a home shootout decision to Pittsburgh on Jan. 27 before getting beat by a 4-2 score in a Feb. 13 meeting in the Steel City. The regulation loss in Pittsburgh was also the last game for Ottawa defenseman and reigning Norris Trophy winner Erik Karlsson, who suffered a severe laceration to his left Achilles when he got clipped by the skate of Pittsburghs Matt Cooke. Karlsson was cleared for contact on Friday and he could return to the lineup before the end of the regular season. Karlsson, who has six goals and four assists in 14 games this season, was originally expected to miss six months of action due to the cut, but he shocked everyone by resuming skating three weeks ago. Senators general manager Bryan Murray said Karlsson will be back in the lineup once he returns to game shape. Ottawa had won four in a row before dropping Saturdays 4-1 decision to Toronto in the third test of a four-game homestand. James van Riemsdyk scored twice and James Reimer frustrated the Sens with 49 saves to help the Maple Leafs secure their first playoff berth since 2004. Jakob Silfverberg netted the lone Ottawa goal, while Craig Anderson allowed all four goals on 22 shots for the Senators. "We have four games left but to me it has been a sprint since January 19," Ottawa coach Paul MacLean said of his teams push toward the postseason. "If we come back and do this again Monday night (against Pittsburgh) well get a better result." Ottawa, which will play two of its final three games of the regular season on the road, is 15-4-3 at Scotiabank Place this season. Jussi Jokinen scored a goal and set up a pair of power-play tallies in the third period to lift the Penguins to Saturdays 3-2 victory over the Bruins at TD Garden. Jokinen has four goals and four assists in six games since being acquired at the trade deadline from Carolina. The Bruins and Pens were set to play Friday night, but the game was postponed because of the day-long manhunt for the second Boston Marathon bomb suspect who was taken into custody Friday night. Pittsburgh was slated to play at home Saturday night against Buffalo, but that game was shifted to Tuesday. Jarome Iginla and Kris Letang scored in the third period for the Penguins, who have won six in a row and 21 of their last 23 games. Tomas Vokoun made 38 saves in the victory. Iginla has three goals in nine games with the Penguins since being acquired from Calgary in late March. He was booed every time he touched the puck, as the Bruins initially thought they had a deal with the Flames before he was shipped to Pittsburgh. "I wasnt surprised," Iginla said of the crowd reaction. "Its a great sports city. At the time I was very humbled and flattered both teams were interested in me." Pittsburgh is playing its second-to-last road game of the regular season tonight. The Pens have identical 17-5-0 records at home and on the road in 2013. Letang is a game-time decision for tonight after missing practice on Sunday due to illness. The Sens and Pens have split the last eight encounters in this series, but Ottawa has claimed four of the last six tilts at Scotiabank Place. Chris Jones Jersey . John Walls Washington Wizards, meanwhile, are headed the opposite way, losing four of their last five games to let teams behind them in the East inch closer. After letting a 25-point lead dwindle to three Wednesday night, Bledsoe and Dragic got back to business and combined to finish with 48 points, 13 assists and 13 rebounds in Phoenixs 99-93 victory over Washington. "Im glad," Dragic said, "that we didnt panic." The surprising Suns moved into a tie with the Dallas Mavericks for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Western Conference. Both clubs are 43-29 with 10 games remaining. "We dont care what other people think," Dragic said. "Before the season, they were saying were going to win 15 games." The Suns have won seven of their last eight, coinciding with Bledsoes return to the starting lineup after missing 33 games because of knee surgery. He had 23 points, seven assists and six rebounds, and Dragic wound up with 25 points, six assists and seven rebounds. "We were missing him those two months," Dragic said about his backcourt mate. "Now hes back and he looks good. Its much easier for me to play with him. He can handle the ball, I can handle the ball." Wizards centre Marcin Gortat, who used to play for the Suns, offered high praise for their pair of guards. "These guys are hungry. They bring it every night. They compete every night. They know what theyre playing for," Gortat said. "They have character, a lot of will to win the game." Gortat was not nearly as complimentary about his current teammates, who are sixth in the Eastern Conference but now are only 1 1/2 games ahead of No. 7 Charlotte, which beat Brooklyn 116-111 in overtime Wednesday. Gortat called Washingtons showing "embarrassing" and added: "Sometimes we show that mentally we are weak and just not competing. Jordan Richards Youth Jersey. Thats it." Wall, who led Washington with 29 points and six assists, and coach Randy Wittman preferred to put the blame on poor defence that allowed Phoenix to shoot 50 per cent on 3-pointers for the game (14 of 28). Phoenix made 7 of 9 field-goal tries during a 17-4 run to open the second half. The Suns led by as much as 75-50 in the third quarter, but Washington kept chipping away at that, getting as close as 83-79 on Walls three-point play with a little more than 8 minutes remaining. But an 8-0 run by Phoenix that closed with Dragics 3-pointer followed by his reverse layup gave the Suns some breathing room. Washington again cut into the lead, though, and when Wall made consecutive driving layups, it was 93-90 with 1 1/2 minutes left. Sure enough, Dragic and Bledsoe again responded. Bledsoe hit a 3 off Dragics assist, and then Dragic fed Gerald Green, who was fouled and made two free throws. And that was pretty much that. Bledsoe called it "a sloppy win," but knows that his team is going to fare well when six players each make at least one 3-pointer, as happened Wednesday. "We live by the 3, die by the 3, most likely. Thats how it is," Bledsoe said. "When were making 3, its tough to beat us." Notes: Wizards G Bradley Beal missed the end of the first half and beginning of the second because he went to the locker room for treatment of a right hip pointer after a Suns player landed on him. Beal said he hopes to play Friday against visiting Indiana. ... The Suns had lost their previous three games against the Wizards, including at Phoenix in January. ... Wall reached 100 3-pointers for the season for the first time in his NBA career, and he joins Beal, Trevor Ariza and Martell Webster to give Washington a franchise-high four players with at least that many. Cheap Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys China Wholesale Jerseys Wholesale NFL Jerseys Wholesale Jerseys ' ' '

DENVER -- The Colorado Avalanche took a chance when they drafted Nathan MacKinnon first overall last June. Travis Swanson Youth Jersey . The rookie is rewarding their faith with a stellar first season. MacKinnon had a goal and two assists, Jamie McGinn had two goals and an assist, and Colorado beat the Buffalo Sabres 7-1 on Saturday. Gabriel Landeskog also had two goals and Semyon Varlamov had 27 saves for the Avalanche, who have won three straight. Varlamov also had his second assist of the season. Colorado is having a bounce-back season after finishing at the bottom of the Western Conference last year. The rebound started with earning the top pick in the draft, and the Avalanche opted for the speedy MacKinnon instead of homegrown defenceman Seth Jones. The decision has paid off. MacKinnon has 20 goals and 40 points to lead all rookies in scoring. "Ive been feeling more comfortable. I think I was a little snake-bit at the beginning and couldve score more than I did," said the 18-year-old MacKinnon, who had his first three-point game. "Thankfully things are clicking, Ive developed chemistry with guys on the team." The Avalanche were playing their final home game before going on a four-game East Coast road trip ahead of the Olympic break. They have won eight of 10 and are 35-14-5. Its their best start to a season since 2000-01 when they won the Stanley Cup. Marc-Andre Cliche scored his first NHL goal and Tyson Barrie also scored for the Avalanche. Colorado continued its mastery over the Sabres. The Avalanche have won seven straight against Buffalo. "We werent ready to go from the get go," Buffalo coach Ted Nolan said. "We never laid a body on anyone. It was a very ugly game to watch." The Avalanche jumped ahead early and didnt need to sweat out the end as they did against Minnesota on Thursday. They scored three quick goals on Olympian Ryan Miller in the first. Barrie started the flurry with his seventh of the season at 7:37, and McGinn and Landeskog had goals 58 seconds apart later in the period. MacKinnon feathered a pass through the defence to Landeskog, who tapped it into the empty net. "Hes a special player," Avalanche coach Patrick Roy said of MacKinnon. "The third goal, the speed he put on on the ice was magic. Landy ended up with an open net. It was such a nice play. I see huge improvement in his game." Cliche made it 4-0 early in the second. "I just said, finally," Cliche said. "So much weight off my shoulder. I know maybe Im not supposed to score, but when you score one like that it feels unbelievable, especially in a 7-1 win like this." Were his teammates happy to see him get his first goal? Indeed. After all, hes been doing the dirty work for Colorado all season. "We wanted him to score that for so long and hes had so many chances lately, it was great to see him score that one," Landeskog said. "The whole bench erupted. Hes such an awesome team guy, he doesnt complain, he goes out there and does his job. Tonight he finally got rewarded for his hard work." Miller is headed to his third Olympics for Team USA, but he didnt look sharp against Colorado. He allowed three goals on his first 11 shots and finished with 22 saves. He was pulled in favour of Jhonas Enroth to start the third period. Enroth had 10 saves. "Its obviously a hard game for us. A very tough game for us," Miller said. "We have to come to compete from the start. Thats where we lost the game." Miller didnt receive much offensive support from his teammates, who had just 10 shots on goal midway through the second. The Sabres finally broke through when Matt DAgostini scored on the power play at 11:45 of the second. MacKinnon answered on a power play later in the period to make it 5-1. Landeskog and McGinn scored 2:31 apart in the third to make it 7-1. NOTES: Colorado D Erik Johnson had three assists. ... Avalanche C Paul Stastny (ankle) and RW Alex Tanguay (knee) were scratched. ... Buffalo D Christian Ehrhoff was back in the lineup after missing Thursdays game due to an illness. ... Colorado RW P.A. The allegation was denied by a spokesman for the Yankees third baseman. The newspaper said Rodriguez and his representatives confirmed the payments during testimony this week in the players grievance hearing. Rodriguez is attempting to overturn his 211-game suspension. Citing an unidentified source familiar the proceedings, the News reported Rodriguez and his surrogates spent the money to purchase evidence that included videotapes, documents and affidavits. "Its not true and as usual not only are certain parties leaking information but they are leaking false information," Rodriguez spokesman Ron Berkowitz said in an email to The Associated Press. Calvin Johnson Youth Jersey. Porter Fischer, the former Biogenesis associate who gave the Miami New Times documents last winter that sparked Major League Baseballs investigation, said in July he turned down MLBs $125,000 offer for evidence but he did receive $5,500 in cash. PHOENIX -- The Suns are getting energy from an unexpected source in their strong start to the season. Phoenixs reserves came up big again Friday night, with twins Markieff and Marcus Morris leading the Suns to a 114-103 over the Denver Nuggets. Markieff Morris scored 14 of his career-high 28 points in the fourth quarter as Phoenix came back from an 11-point deficit late in the third after leading by as many as 18 in the first couple of minutes of the second half. His effort was a big part of the 51 points scored by the Suns bench players. "Well take it," Suns coach Jeff Hornacek said. "They play with energy. Thats what we need them to do, is just continue to play as hard as they can. When theyre out there its a pretty small lineup, which I think makes them all think I have to go rebound and I have to help out and then theyre just much more active." Markieff Morris added 10 rebounds and made 10 of 13 shots. Marcus Morris scored 11 points and grabbed eight boards. The brothers combined for five steals, and reserve guard Ish Smith had eight and four assists in only 12 minutes, 27 seconds on the court. "Hes doing a nice job of not just floating around the 15- to 18-foot range looking for a jump shot," Hornacek said of Markieff Morris. "Hes playing under control. Markieffs not forcing anything." Phoenix (4-2) got 46 points from its reserves in a loss at San Antonio on Wednesday and in the three games prior, totalled 40, 35 and 35 points from its bench players. The Suns led 64-47 at halftime but got outscored 40-20 in the third quarter. Ty Lawson scored 21 of his 29 points in the period to vault the Nuggets back into the lead. "We cant give up that many points in a quarter," said guard Gerald Green, typically a reserve but pressed into a starting role Friday. "Our bench was huge. Were going to need that for the rest of the season to be one of those good teams in the West." The fourth quarter saw both teams matching baskets until Marcus Morris hit a jumper with 5:13 to play thatt gave the Suns a 100-95 lead and jump-started a strong finish. Nike NFL Jerseys China. Starters Miles Plumlee added 18 points and 11 rebounds and Eric Bledsoe had 17 points and nine assists. Jordan Hamilton scored 19 points for Denver, which fell to 1-4. "The fourth quarter killed us again," Lawson said. "The third quarter we were up 10 and I should have managed the game better. We took a lot of quick shots and turned the ball over." The Suns trailed 87-76 before closing out the third quarter with an 8-0 run. Smith converted a three-point play and Markieff Morris made a layup off a steal. Phoenix got off to a quick start. Plumlee scored 10 points in the first quarter, including a pair of three-point plays when he twice took Denver big man Timofey Mozgov off the dribble for a basket and a foul. The Suns made 14 of 24 first-quarter shots, one of them a high-flying dunk by Green on a lob from P.J. Tucker. Phoenixs 35 points marked its most in an opening period this season. Phoenix went ahead 57-45 on a pick-and-roll layup by Plumlee. The Suns took their largest lead of the half when Markieff Morris leaped to grab the high carom from a missed free throw and slammed the ball home for a 64-46 lead. "I told our team we lost that game in the first half," Nuggets coach Brian Shaw said. "We gave up 65 points in the first half and 35 points in the first quarter. Low energy once again. "I am at a loss of words from the lack of energy from some of our rotation guys. ... I will go down the bench and find the guys who want to play." NOTES: The Suns played without starting guard Goran Dragic, who warmed up before the game but is still dealing with a sprained left ankle. Dragic has now missed the past three games but could be ready as soon as the Suns next game against New Orleans on Sunday. Green started in his place. . Hornacek is the first Suns head coach to begin his tenure 3-0 at home since Scott Skiles in 1999-2000. The Suns opened 3-0 at home for the first time since the 2009-2010 season.Cheap Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys China Wholesale Jerseys Wholesale NFL Jerseys Wholesale Jerseys ' ' '

he players association filed a grievance

TAMPA, Fla. Randy Gregory Jersey . -- Revis Island is relocating again. Less than a year after moving from the New York Jets to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in a blockbuster trade that enabled him to become the highest paid cornerback in the NFL, the three-time All-Pro known for stranding opposing receivers in man coverage is out of work. He was dumped in a cost-cutting move. The Bucs released Revis on Wednesday after efforts to trade him and his $16 million annual salary. "It was a tough decision. Hes a very good player," general manager Jason Licht said during a news conference introducing four of the five free agents as he and new coach Lovie Smith push forward with plans to overhaul a team that went 4-12 last season. "We were able to get three very good players," Smith chimed at one point in support of what Licht described as a roadmap for success "for almost for the price of one." Cutting the 28-year-old Revis saved the Bucs a $1.5 million bonus that the five-time Pro Bowl selection would have been due if he remained on the roster. It also freed additional space under the salary cap, which the team intends to use to try to improve a roster that has several glaring weaknesses. "Were not trying to build slowly," Smith added. "We were a 4-12 team. Theres a lot we have to do." Revis was obtained in a pre-draft trade from the New York Jets last spring, a deal orchestrated by former coach Greg Schiano and GM Mark Dominik that cost the Bucs a first-round draft in 2013, as well as a fourth-rounder this year. If Revis had remained on Tampa Bays roster at 4 p.m. Wednesday, he would have been due the bonus and the 2014 pick the Bucs sent to the Jets would have become a third-rounder. Revis was recovering from a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee when he joined the Bucs and was given a six-year, $96 million contract. Despite not being 100 per cent physically, he appeared in all 16 games and was selected to play in the Pro Bowl last season, when he had two interceptions, a sack and two forced fumbles. "Darrelle showed a lot of heart last year as he worked extremely hard to get himself back on the field following his knee injury sustained the previous season," Licht said. "We have specific ideas regarding the best way to build this defence and, while you never like to lose a good player, we believe this is in the best interests of our team moving forward," the GM added. "Darrelle was a true professional here in Tampa Bay and we wish him continued success in his career." The release came less than an hour after the Bucs confirmed free agent quarterback Josh McCown had agreed to terms of a two-year contract, a move that reunites him with Smith. A career backup, the 12th-year pro is coming off the best season of his career with Chicago. McCown started five games in place of the injured Jay Cutler for the Bears in 2013, going 3-2 and finishing the year with 13 touchdown passes vs. one interception. McCown was a third-round draft pick of the Arizona Cardinals in 2002. He spent the past two seasons with the Bears, including 2012 -- Smiths last year in Chicago. McCown, who turns 35 in July, will compete with second-year pro Mike Glennon for the starting job. Glennon started 13 games as a rookie for the Bucs, who fired Schiano and Dominik after missing the playoffs for the sixth straight season. Smith and Licht were hired in January and entered free agency determined to make some bold moves. In addition to signing McCown, the Bucs landed defensive end Michael Johnson, cornerback Alterraun Verner, defensive tackle Clinton McDonald and tight end Brandon Myers on Tuesday, the first day team could complete deals. "Were not simply talent collectors," Licht said. "Were finding the right fits." Improving the pass rush is a major priority. Signing Johnson (15 sacks over the past two seasons with Cincinnati) to a five-year, $47.5 million contract, and also nabbing McDonald (5 1-2 sacks in 2013 with Super Bowl champion Seattle) addresses that need. Myers was a productive tight end with Oakland and the New York Giants the past two seasons. Verner received a four-year, $26.5 million deal to fill the void created by the departure of Revis, regarded as one of the top players in the league at his position. The 25-year-old Verner had a career-best five interceptions and made the Pro Bowl last season with the Tennessee Titans. "I wouldnt say Im here to replace Revis," Verner said. "Im looking to try to be the very best player I can be." Byron Jones Youth Jersey . Louis, MO (SportsNetwork. Jason Witten Youth Jersey . -- One game. After a season featuring more losses than wins, thats all that separates the New York Knicks and the final post-season spot in the weak Eastern Conference standings. NEW YORK -- Now the waiting begins for Alex Rodriguez and Major League Baseball. A-Rods grievance hearing to overturn his 211-game suspension ended Thursday when both sides rested their cases, a day after the New York Yankees third baseman angrily walked out and decided not to testify in his own defence. The sides set a schedule to file briefs by Dec. 11 and reply briefs by Dec. 21, which will close the record and submit the matter to arbitrator Fredric Horowitz. His decision on whether to uphold or alter the discipline for the three-time AL MVP likely will be made in January, a person familiar with the proceedings told The Associated Press. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because no statements were authorized. Rodriguezs lawyers already are vowing to challenge the ruling in federal court, where judges usually are reticent to overturn an arbitration decision unless there is a finding the arbitrator was biased, exceeded his authority or failed to comply with the rules agreed to by the parties. The exact timing of a decision is uncertain. Baseballs Joint Drug Agreement states the arbitrator shall make "all reasonable efforts" to close the record in time to permit a decision within 25 days of the start of the hearing. But in this case, the hearing began Sept. 30, making that timetable impossible to meet. After the arbitrator renders his decision, the written opinion is to be issued within 30 days. It is unclear if Horowitz will issue his written opinion simultaneously with his decision. The timing of the case could complicate planning for the Yankees, who dont know if they will have to pay Rodriguez his $25 million salary and are unsure whether they will need a different starting third baseman. Rodriguez was suspended by MLB on Aug. 5 for alleged violations of baseballs drug policy and labour agreement stemming from the leagues investigation of the Biogenesis of America anti-aging clinic in Florida. The players association filed a grievance, and because Roddriguez was a first-time offender of the drug agreement, the discipline automatically was stayed pending a resolution of the grievance. Byron Jones Jersey. . Horowitz heard the case in a trio of four-day sessions, with management presenting its case from Sept. 30-Oct. 3 and Oct. 15-18. Rodriguezs side then took its turn during the first four days of this week. While Horowitz had set aside six additional days for testimony through Wednesday, that time was not needed. Rodriguez left in the middle of the 11th session Wednesday, furious the arbitrator refused to order baseball Commissioner Bud Selig to testify. Rodriguez and his lawyers then went on radio and television, accusing Selig of bias and the entire arbitration process of being flawed. His lawyers returned without him Thursday to complete their case, and MLB started and finished its rebuttal. At the end of the hearing, the sides learned union head Michael Weiner had died from the brain tumour he was diagnosed with 15 months ago. Outside MLBs offices, representatives of the New York Hispanic Clergy Organization, including state Sen. Ruben Diaz, held a prayer vigil to express opposition to Rodriguezs discipline. Rodriguez lawyer James McCarroll issued a statement Thursday pointing out that this case is the first grievance under the drug agreement involving discipline that didnt stem from a positive test and involved "the commissioners discretion and decision-making." While he said the commissioner in the past "was harshly criticized in the arbitrators decision for not voluntarily appearing at a grievance," that statement appears to refer to arbitrator George Nicolaus 1987 decision cutting Peter Ueberroths drug suspension of pitcher LaMarr Hoyt from one season to 60 days. While Horowitz has issued an order for the proceeding to be confidential, Rodriguezs lawyers are considering making some of the evidence public. Rodriguez spokesman Ron Berkowitz said Friday nothing would be released until next week. Cheap Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys China Wholesale Jerseys Wholesale NFL Jerseys Wholesale Jerseys ' ' '

With a home run-prone pitcher on the mound for the Milwaukee Brewers, the conditions were ripe for the Cincinnati Reds to have a big day at the plate. Billy Hamilton got the slugging started by leading the game off with a home run, and the Reds finished Sunday afternoon with eight runs over the final two innings to send Milwaukee fans to the exits early in a 13-4 victory. Brandon Phillips added a two-run shot in the first inning and Todd Frazier later hit his team-high 15th homer for the Reds. Hamilton connected for the second straight day, off Marco Estrada (5-4). "We know we can do it, but we havent been doing it a lot," Frazier said. "Today, it showed we can do those (kinds) of things and we got a pitcher that we can hit a little bit." The Reds moved back within two games of .500 despite a rocky outing by Mike Leake (4-6), who allowed four runs on nine hits and three walks in five innings. Cincinnati took two of three from the NL Central-leading Brewers. "It was definitely big," manager Bryan Price said. "Were establishing the fact that we can play this team very well." His offence collected some gaudy statistics, including a season-high 19 hits. Among other highlights: --Ten different Reds scored runs. --A career-high three doubles for Ryan Ludwick, who went 4 for 5. --Six players with at least two hits. Estrada followed with his RBI chopper up the middle and Scooter Gennett then sliced a double the other way down the left-field line to tie it. Milwaukee might have scored even more in the inning had Carlos Gomez not been doubled off first after taking off on Aramis Ramirezs long fly to right tracked down at the warning track by Jay Bruce. Frazier followed with his two-run shot the next inning to put Cincinnati up for good. Hamilton led off the inning with a single and drew a few pickoff throws before Frazier homered on an 0-1 fastball up in the zone. Leake gave up Jonathan Lucroys homer to centre leading off the bottom of the fifth to get the Brewers within 5-4 before the Reds broke it open with five runs in the eighth. Brewers reliever Rob Wooten allowed six straight hits without recording an out and watched his ERA balloon by nearly two runs to 4.98. "I did what I could, but our offence really came around today," Leake said. Lucroy added a double to go 2 for 4 and raised his average to .336.
